Had a really great time! The property was clean and quiet. Very relaxing stay and conveniently located to Gatlinburg and surrounding areas. There were a few minor problems, but nothing overwhelming. The sheets didn’t really fit the bed, so the corners always pulled off in the night. There were A LOT of spiders on the porch (10-15 just on the upper level alone), but the cabin is in the woods. Wildlife is part of the deal, so you expect that going in. Generally speaking it was a quiet, enjoyable experience, and I would recommend.

Totally relaxing venue

Stay, relax and unwind in the mountains at Browns Bear Den.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The spiral staircase leading to the upstairs bedroom is very narrow,so narrow I could not take my suitcase upstairs. Not very safe for older visitors (or young). The cabin was spotless, beautifully decorated, and stocked with everything you could possibly need. The location was ok, but more signs or landmarks would make it easier to find. We had a great time and I would go back again.

Had a great time

Reviewer Comments: We loved the house we stayed minus the lame pool table, It's a perfect location has a bit of everything to keep you entertained. Did not care for the staff at Aunt Bug's we have been coming here for 14 years, first stay with them, Up charges for everything, we had snow, explained I might not be able to bring key back and could I leave it in cabin was told no matter what I had to bring key or pay $100 if left in cabin. Seems unreasonable to me. But we did enjoy our selfs just won't use this company again.

We had a beary good time!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The whole experience was incredible. From the drive up the twisty mountain road and the wrought iron bears on the gate to still finding something unique and special about the cabin and it's furnishings even after days, this was amazing! The staff were friendly and helpful and the cabin was perfect. We had Foosball tournaments and campfires; many family memories were made! Did I mention we saw a mama bear and 3 cubs one morning walking down the creek across the way. The cabin was cozy but big enough for 4 adults, 2 kids, and 2 Labrador Retrievers! I would and have recommended this trip to quite a few neighbors so far as well as a couple people that I talked to casually. It was clean and well maintained with many amenities that you would expect as well as some surprises too. Final words: Do it. You won't be disappointed.

Nice…. But!

Cabin was nice but the hot tub was leaking, tried to fill and heat and only got a few minutes of time before water drained out. Kitchen sink would not drain, had to plunge every time water ran. Sheets had to be washed before we could sleep in the bed, dog hair and debris from comforter was all over them. Pet friendly so expect some signs of pets, but that was not good. Coffee pot was broken so first morning was rough, they did bring one out later that day though without us calling. Overall, place is cute, we had fun but hot tub not working was a let down. And I had to contact Aunt Bugs for info after we were already in Gatlinburg for info to check in, it was after 4 and cabin was not ready yet.

Valentine's Weekend Getaway

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin is very nice and has a good feel. It was clean but cob webs on the walls in some places. We enjoyed the large TV in the living room but not many extra channels to watch so bring movies. The kitchen is pretty and nice but there were no condiments (salt/pepper/oil) and they did not have a pizza pan. We enjoyed the hot tub very much and the game room was great but tight around the pool table for shooting pool. Bathrooms were great but no extra towels (5 total in the whole cabin). Our big issue was the fireplaces quit working the first day and they never came to fix them. I love a fire and it snowed so we really missed having a fire to warm by and feel cozy. It seemed it ran out of gas (both are gas logs). Otherwise we had a great trip and the area was very nice. About 15 minutes drive from Pigeon Forge.

Cabin was nice,but shower,tub in side, hot tub very drity

Reviewer Comments: The cabin was very nice,it was not clean the shower had not been clean for a very long time the tub was very drity we could not use it the hot tub was very drity to it was not working right when we got there they sent a maintenance man to fix it he just put water in it he did not clean it it was yellow looking and when we called we were put on hold for about 15 min and we had to hang up and call back they said house keeping was coming and they never showed up this was the 1st time we stayed with you,we had to clean the place up i know it was cleaner when we left than it was before we got there and also the sheets were to short for the bed,we try to get a way about two times a year and we have stayed in some very nice cabins i also has the oweners e-mail and i tuke picture's thank you belinda wakefield

Family vacation 2016

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: we enjoyed our stay at the Browns bear den!!! Nice & peaceful & close to town. Everything was great. Did want to let you know that we only did hot tub once as it was leaving a brown foam on our bodies/swim suits & the bubbles had a brown film on them as well. I did also call about the door handle being very loose on the main floor. We were okay with it as we used the other doors to access the porch. Other than that we had a great time & was impressed with the cabin! We left some paper towels & coffee filters to be used for future vacationers. Was a little disappointed when checked out as the lady just took our keys & never bothered to ask us how it was or if we enjoyed ourselves! When checking in a week ago the gentleman who checked us in was super nice & friendly! We will keep aunt bugs information so when we visit again. Please thank the Browns for opening their cabin to others to have a wonderful vacation in the smokies!! Josh & Amy Thomas.

Very Unhappy

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin is not what I expected nor was I very impressed with it. I called the front office to let theme know that I was unhappy and the customer service manager had a oh well tough **** it is yours for the week. The deck was so nasty we could even sit on the furniture outside. When I said something to her about it she said well the people before you loved it there. The people before me didn't stay outside like we do. They finally sent someone up a couple of hours later to wash it off. The dishes in the kitchen were dirty we had to wash everything before we could use it and the cheap dishwashing liquid y'all have for the dishwasher SUCKS and dosen't clean the dishes. The pots and pans needed to be updated and a better verity of kitchen appliances to use. I have stayed in alot of cabins but this one is by far the worst and the ones I dealt with in the office were very rude expeically the one who checked me in. All of our friends and co workers have asked us about y'all and we told them about our time with Aunt Bug's cabin rental and they will be going with another company. The pictures are deceiving and the customer service needs to take a class on what customer service really is!

We did not get the address of the cabin until after 4:30 ( they were supposedly still cleaning ). When we arrived, there was a note written on their message board, “clean the cabin next time”. I turned the oven on for dinner, while it was pre heating I set the smoke alarm off. The oven had so much grease in it, the smoke alarm went off 3tines trying to make pizza. Both oven racks had lots of debris hanging from them. The dishwasher was full of stinking fishy smelling dirty dishes. There were 4 undissolved dishwashing packs in the bottom of the dishwasher. This was evidently not a new problem. My daughter spent more than an hour washing those stinky dishes with hand soap since there was no dish soap in the cabin. There were no oven mitts or anything thing else to take hot things out of the oven. The water at the sink was not working when we returned after long day out. Fortunately my son was able to get it working. There were only 5 towels and washcloths for an 8 person cabin. The cabin really needed a good cleaning. Should not have been rented in that condition. This is the first time we have used this rental service and would never use it again.

A little disappointed

First I would like to say I typically don't write reviews but felt some of the things I came acrossed while staying at this cabin could help another family. First issue was the carafe for the coffee pot was missing. I looked EVERYWHERE for it and couldn't find it. I called the office where a nice man simply told me "housekeeping should have taken care of that" and he said he would make a note of it. No offer to bring a replacement which caused my husband and I to have to jump thru hoops for morning coffee. Second issue was the door leading out to the hot tub was broke. It would unlock but not open at all. This caused an issue because anytime you wanted to go to the hot tub you had to go to the front door and walk around---doesn't seem like a huge issue except the first day we were there we were greeted by a mama bear and 2 cubs, so having that door available sure would have helped. It was a little unnerving thinking I might have to walk right past a bear to get to the door! Third thing was the temperature throughout the cabin. Downstairs is freezing and upstairs is hot. This causes a slight inconvenience because that's where the bedrooms are. One bedroom is hot and one is cold. Fourth issue is, it wasn't cleaned well. The front glass door looked like a toddler had dirty hands and smeared stuff all over the glass. My thoughts on that are, if you aren't cleaning things that are in plain sight, how well are you cleaning bathrooms etc? The comforter on the upstairs futon smelled like dog urine and perfume which leads me to wonder whens the last time it was washed. And if you plan on enjoying a shower in the beautiful rock shower, don't get too excited because there's barely any water pressure and only half of the showerhead works. Your expecting a rainshower but you get a light drizzle. The kitchen sink also has no hot water or water pressure and the faucet is loose. The reason Im bringing all this up is not to sound negative, but this cabin wasn't cheap and I feel like they could do just a few small things to make you feel like it was money well spent. On the positive side, my kids loved the pool table and arcade games.

Overall a great spot!

This property has a bit of a weird layout, but we really enjoyed our time here. We'll definitely be back, but would LOVE to see a light added over the grilling area (in winter it gets dark so early and the floor lights aren't enough) be if you could add a mini-fridge down stairs for drinks that would be amazing!!!! Only downside was the pillows were flat, sheets kept coming off the bed (like just a little too small) be the living room didn't have comfortable furniture that accommodatea lounging when you are stick inside from rain. Replacing the futon with a real couch would help significantly to make this spot just perfect.

Love this cabin

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This cabin is 20 minutes from the main drag in pigeon forge and 10 min from the main drag in Gatlinburg. It’s perfect. The master room is on the bottom floor and the other room is on the 3rd floor. A little far from our kids but we could hear when they woke up and their feet hit the floor. The outside fire area is the best. Big, plenty of seats. I miss it already. Housekeeping was lackluster. We don’t smoke but all the outside ashtrays were full when we arrived, we had guests over and they were grossed out as well. I was looking for a sock, checked under bed and there was garbage, a lid to something, batteries misc other things. Other than housekeeping the cabin is perfect and we would go again.

Great Cabin

Cute Cabin!

Reviewer Comments: The floor plan of the cabin was a little odd - one bedroom is down right next to the "game room" and is a bit tight with a king bed. The other is up in the loft area with sketchy steps to get up. But overall, the gathering spaces were great! Outdoor firepit area doesn't quite look like the photos.

Trip to Gatlingburg

When we checked into the property it was about a 20 minute drive from the property management office and when we arrived to the house we discovered that they had forgotten to give us a key. We were informed it was a keyless entry with a passcode and it ended up that we could not get through the gate or into the house. Lots of cobwebs and spiderwebs along the deck and also in the shower. Convenient location to both pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg Nice quiet property with privacy

Beautiful cabin

Great Vacation in the Smokies

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Took the family to the Smokie Mountains for an adventure filled vacation and Aunt Bugs cabin didn't disappoint at all.

Great Fun and Awesome!!!!

Great cabin

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Cabin was clean, beautiful. Very nice. Kind of small for a big family. We took our dogs and there really isn’t a place for them to use the bathroom. Besides that it was great. Very private.
