Nantahala Getaway beautiful, smoke-free, lakefront home has a breathtaking view of Lake Nantahala and surrounding mountains from nearly all rooms. Whether you're enjoying several outdoor activities or lounging on the spacious rear deck with a favorite book, this is an ideal setting for relaxation. PLEASE NO PARTIES OR EVENTS - we are a close knit lake community. We have a propane Weber GRILL. 65 IN.BIG SCREEN DOWNSTAIRS.
The lake is a 3000ft elevation deep water lake. LIFE VESTS ARE IMPORTANT SINCE LAKE IS EXTREMELY DEEP.Cell service is spotty but we CALL OR TEXT OVER WIFI. .NEW CASINO IN MURPHY OPEN. Sorry we love pets but No Pets are allowed due to family w severe allergies.
We do provide trash service however this builds up quickly. Due to animals possibly getting into the cans. We suggest when you go out please bring any recyclable or small bags of trash with you so you can just throw in a trashcan. There’s a local recycling and trash area off Junaluska going towards Aquone . There’s also one near the Nantahala school down towards Andrews. We have three cans make sure they’re secured by the logs or the straps.

Each season brings it's own unique character to this picturesque area. From the splendid fall colors on display in the surrounding Nantahala National Forest to the quiet beauty of a winter snowfall.
Please put out trash in outside cans by Sunday night .

The spring brings with it the white and pink blooms of rhododendron and mountain laurel, while the summer will find you relaxing on the dock with numerous water activities to choose from. If you want to get away from it all. There are some gravel roads into our development.For Boat rental info-look under amenites section. If you bring your own boat there are mountainous roads and it is best to go to boat ramp on big Choga to off-load your boat before going to the house.

The property is lovely. As many properties are in the Lake Nantahala area, access to and from is a bit challenging, however, once you are there - the experience is always a positive one. Surprisingly, the WiFi worked very well. The grands enjoyed the kayaks and easy access to the lake. A couple of minor suggestions - a larger pot or two in the kitchen would be helpful. We are a cooking family and feeding teenagers takes large pots! Secondly, if you could mark some of the primary light switches, it would be a huge help. Those are truly minor issues, however, and did not detract whatsoever from your lovely home.

We had an absolutely fantastic time! The house was perfect. It was clean and spacious and had everything we needed. There is lots of comfortable seating for hanging out in the morning and evening and a huge dining table for dinners. We loved all the extra water toys, chairs, umbrellas and boats! There was something for everyone. The lake is beautiful and the waterfront access made this home a wonderful place for our family! We hope we can come back. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

Perfect family getaway

We traveled to the lake house with our 22 month old daughter, our 14 year old daughter, her friend, and my father-in-law. We had a blast The property is beautiful, the lake was perfect, water is literally crystal clear. Our host was very prompt answering questions and very helpful. The house had everything that we could need. My brother-in-law, his wife and their 5-year-old daughter found a cabin close by that was a little smaller and affordable, and the house was large enough that we could entertain everyone during the day. We rented a boat from the marina one day and a jet ski another day which I highly recommend. It was definitely a family vacation that no one will soon forget, we made memories that our children cherish forever.

Summer Vacation

From the moment we walked in, our trip was amazing. Everything inside and outside the home is exactly as described. The home is well stocked with everything you need during your stay. Just load up on groceries on your trip in and you will be set. Our family spent every day out on the lake enjoying the water and mountain views that surround the home. We especially enjoyed the kayaks and fishing. One day we even rented a jet ski from the local marina. The owners are so nice and do an excellent job communicating everything you need know. This home rivals any resort and we definitely intend on returning!

Labor Day weekend

Always so much fun staying here. Owners are lovely and communicative. Home is perfect. Lake views are incredible. As long as they let us rent we will keep coming.

Fabulous Home

We had a wonderful week at this property. The sunset views, from the porches and stone patio, are gorgeous. The dock is very large and perfect for hanging out or jumping off.

July 4th Holidays 2023

We really enjoyed our stay. The home has everything you need and the views from the house to the lake are incredible. Really appreciate Debbie’s communication. Water pump went out due to storm and was remedied within an hour. Great experience. Thanks again Debbie!

Great getaway

We loved the place very peaceful. The lake is awesome. House was very clean and spacious to accommodate a lot of people. Would definitely go back. My only complaint is the refrigerator it took forever to cool and wasnt that big we lost some food in the process. For a place that remote and far from a supermarket they should have a 2nd fridge cause nobody is gonna want to take multiple trips to the supermarket and if the fridge goes down you lose everything you bought. Other that that we lived our vacation there

Beautiful home with a gorgeous view!

This was our second stay at this home, both times in winter. Everything was exactly as described, with new touches since we last stayed several years ago: a new carport and driveway, new paint outside and a whole home generator for power outages which can be numerous in winter in the mountains of NC. Everything is functional and the satellite TV is a plus. The satellite internet is slow and isn’t suitable for streaming so being able to watch TV/news/etc was nice. The view from both levels is breathtaking. Perfect for enjoying a quiet morning on the deck with a cup of coffee while watching the smokey mist settle in the mountains. Roads in and out are not paved, and in the winter you really need 4x4 or a truck with really good tires/traction. Driving the nearby gorges and going hiking to Wesser Bald fire tower and part of the AT were really great. The 2” of snow we got the day before our hike added a special and fresh dynamic to our day. If you’re looking to disconnect and recharge, this home is a lovely place to do so. We’d like to come back in the summer and really make use of the lake, canoe, kayaks, etc.

Labor Day weekend

This was our second stay at this lovely home. Although the weather was disappointing, we managed to have fun watching football and playing board games. We also did get in some quality lake time. We love the views from this home - truly beautiful. The home is perfect and the views can't be beat.

Magical family vacation

This property was absolutely everything as described and more! Sensational views, beautiful accommodations, phenomenal lake front activities. Once back from the grocery store in Andrews, we didn't have to leave for anything. AND WHY WOULD WE when everything that was needed for a relaxing and extraordinary vacation was right on property! Even rented a jet ski for our time there from Young Harris Water Sports out of Georgia who delivered to the Choga access right across from this property. My sons and I canoed over to the access to pick up the jet ski. I couldn't have planned it better! The Lake's End Marina will be getting those back soon I do believe. I will definitely want to return to this wonderful dream house!!

We are return customers to this amazing property. The owners are fantastic and their home is a wonderful retreat. Enjoy the fire pit and amazing views of the lake. Rent a boat from the marina to truly enjoy the lake.

Very peaceful and well-laid out home

The mountain and lake views were beautiful. The lakefront location with walk down to the water was perfect for our two families (my family and my brother’s family). The house was very functional with plenty of outdoor living spaces. We were there week before Christmas so it was a bit cold for these FL folks but in milder temps, I’d probably spend most of the time on the porches. Host was excellent in communication. There is NO cell signal going in so you’ll only have your phone GPS accessible. We planned our meals ahead and brought food in. It’s a long trip back to Andrews (about 45 min one-way) if you forgot milk or bread. Once you’re there, the home and location is a very peaceful oasis and a perfect place to unwind and enjoy with your friends or family.

Great Thanksgiving stay!

Everything was as advertised and the pictures online are an accurate representation of the property. Communication with the owner was great and everyone had a fabulous time. There’s no cell service but nobody in our group had an issue with that. The WiFi makes it possible to communicate with the outside world. It was too cold to enjoy the kayaks but we enjoyed the canoe! Everything you need to enjoy the lake is at the property. It was a great experience!

WE ARE TRUELY IN THE MOUNTAINS-BUT ALSO HAVE GREAT VIEWS OF MOUNTAINS. THE STARS AT NIGHT ARE THE BEST! QUIET AND PEACEFUL-WHEN OUR CHILDREN WERE YOUNGER THEY PLAYED ON THE HILLS AND IN THE WATER. A CHANCE TO CONNECT AGAIN! WE LOVE IT AND YOU WILL TOO! PLEASE NO PARTIES OR EVENTS .
