This charming beach house has a phenomenal view of the water which is right across from the waterfront. Your family will have access to the private beach. This is a beautiful and relaxing getaway that your family will love. It has a brand new kitchen with stainless appliances and granite counter top. There is a basketball hoop and a huge ground to play in.
Memory foam mattresses on all the beds in this house will allow you to have a very restful sleep. Due to allergies - Pets are strictly not allowed.

Stairway to heaven

Good location and very clean. Quiet neighborhood. 35 steps to the bedroom but once there the views of the sunset and ocean were spectacular. The shoreline was not sand, but the seagulls were fun. Overall a very nice time.

Thank you so much for staying with us. Maxwellton Beach beautiful and the sunsets are gorgeous. You’re right. Lots of steps…not quite 35 but 14 steps to the main floor and another 7 to the bedroom. Guests love the waterfront view/sunset from the bay window up there. We are glad you enjoyed the place. Hope to host you again.

Beautiful setting, great hosts.

Quiet, clean, well stocked with dishes and kitchen gear, kind thoughtful hosts, and of course the beach is right across the street. Excellent.

Great property

My friend and I had such a nice girls weekend getaway and loved staying at the house. We had so much fun sitting on the beach with a glass of wine and watching the eagles play. Close to Langley and Freeland.

Cozy and economical getaway

Chris and Jacqueline’s beach property was just perfect for a weekend getaway for me and my son. We enjoyed walking on the beach and visiting the darling chickens that live on the property. Chris is super responsive and made the entire rental process a breeze. We can’t wait to come back!

Family Gathering in Maxwelton

This was the second time our family had a reunion in Maxwelton, staying at the two back to back houses of the same host. It works perfectly for us and everyone wants to come back and do it again. August in Maxwelton is a fabulous time of year and the amazing immediate beach access such a bonus for children and parents alike. Bravo, to the hosts.

Great Stay

Great Property, clean and comfortable. Good view and beach access. Easy parking and the basketball hoop was great for some of our down time. Everything was in good working order including the internet. Chris was prompt with all replies before our stay. Thanks!

Cute, comfortable and fantastic beach access

This rental is super cute and comfortable on a fantastic property that includes fruit trees, chickens, and a basketball court. It is just across the lane from the sandy beach that goes forever in either direction and has fantastic tide flats. The owners are very welcoming, friendly, responsive and helpful. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful getaway that is fun for kids and has great views and beach access, this is the place!

Nice and quiet

Clean and well appointed. Very close to the beach. Owners are very pleasant. Must bring your own drinking water and ice. All of the beds are in one room in the loft.

Dreamy Island Escape

We were on the island for the first annual Renaissance Faire and this was the perfect size for the three of us to come home to and get off our feet. The air from the ocean lulled us to sleep, the kitchen was just the right size and had everything we needed. We didn't explore the beach this time, but I'd love to come back in the summer and walk along the beautiful beach right across the street. The beds in the sleeping loft were comfy, and the seaside decor and fresh colors make it even cuter!

Perfect short family trip

Our family stays in 4-5 VRBOs per year and this one has the nicest owners I've ever interacted with. Super friendly (invited us to BBQ at their nearby home even), timely, and helpful. Everything as advertised. The house itself was perfect for our family's quick weekend away. Loved being a short walk to the beach and the beds were so comfortable we're looking to buying the same for our home. A small space but was still great for us. Met lots of neighbors on the beach and all were welcoming as well, so a great stay all around!

Smelled like a sewer, felt like a sauna!

Only rent this property if you want to be lied to, have a house that smells like a sewer, vacation in a sauna and when forced to leave due to the conditions have your money held hostage! We arrived at 11pm to the house with the air conditioner off and a temperature of 80 degrees and the horrible smell of a porta-potty. We turned AC on, opened windows with screens (only 4 windows had screens) and tried to get ready for bed. Air was coming out of the vents but very little. We didn't want to bother the owners that late and thought it would get better with some time. It didn't. I messaged the owners early the next morning and was assured they would be there to fix it. We headed out to enjoy our day. Upon our return the house seemed cooler and smell slightly better but now no hot water! So we again notified the owners. Once again we were assured it would be fixed. We took cold showers that morning and headed out for our day. We returned around 5 pm to a hot, rank smelling house. The owner was present at that time so we asked him to check the AC again. We were told at that point that the property did not actually have air conditioning (despite the outside unit and indoor controls) and that the wife had properties confused. We were then questioned as to why we had not left windows open?! Why would we leave windows open when the AC is on and property instructions specifically said to close windows while gone? And when only a few windows have screens and there are no fans on the property, it's impossible to air out the smell and keep the property comfortable. We left the following day, and made alternate arrangements elsewhere for the remainder of our trip. With rental fees and deposit of close 1700$, we don't feel like we got what we paid for. A small refund was made but not enough to cover our extra expenses or the horrible experience we had.

We are so sorry. No matter how many times we apologized and tried our best to make it work, we cannot please everyone. You were not lied to. When you try to reach us, we were there to reply to you quickly. The isolated property issues have been taken care of. It is really unfortunate that these issues came up the time that you came. We are grateful that it never happened to our numerous guests before your stay and after your stay but we are sad that it happened to you. Our guests had wonderful things to say because of our new, clean, beautiful, cozy and relaxing beach home that we share the experience with them. Our welcoming gesture is just a frosting on the cake. We will continue to take good care of our guests as they build wonderful memories at Maxwellton Beach. Again, our sincerest apologies.

Weekend retreat

We had a wonderful stay. Owners are extremely hospitable and conscientious. They went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed. The place is cozy and comfortable. We loved walking on the beach. Lots to take in on Whidby Island. Would definitely stay again!

Best vacation ever!

We normally head over the mountains towards Mazama this time of year, but with the forest fires, our reservations were cancelled. Our daughter found this wonderful Beach Sea-Esta online and we all just leapt at the chance. Comfortable and roomy and so close to the beach. We enjoyed family dinners, beach walks, biking, basketball (thanks Chris!) and so much more. The weather was beautiful all week which just maximized our fun. Even got to meet the owners who are just wonderful. Highly recommend it. A welcome place where memories are made.

Dreamy Beach Stay

Chris' place was a great getaway for a mother-daughter trip with my mom. Everything was very clean and the neighborhood was quiet and secluded. The kitchen is well stocked with pans/utensils for meal prep. Beach access is amazing. Chris communicated over text message and responded promptly. Would definitely book again.

Great spot, beautiful beach

Only complaint had nothing to do with the property — due to a ferry backup we didn’t arrive until 1am! It was tough to find the property in the dark as it shares an address with another home across the street (which is where our map program directed us to). More specific directions could help avoid confusion in the future. The location is fantastic, the home was clean, and the beach is lovely to walk on. Responsive owner. Great views!

A nice place close to the beach

Our small group really enjoyed the hospitality of Chris and Jackie. Communication was excellent from the moment we booked and throughout our stay. The home is situated right across a beautiful private beach literally steps away. Their place was clean and comfy and has all the amenities that we needed. The new adjustable-height basketball hoop on their property was a fun bonus that we weren’t expecting.! All in all, a great Memorial Day Weekend. Mahalo Chris and Jackie🤙🏾

Great Getaway

We rented this property for my daughter and her bridesmaids who were in town for her Whidbey Island wedding. The house is very clean and cute inside with beach access across the street. This house would be perfect for a group of friends on a quick getaway to Whidbey or for anyone living on Whidbey who needs extra lodging for visiting friends or family. The owners were very easy to communicate with and answered my questions promptly. I highly recommend this property.
