Beautiful cottage by the sea in Folly Cove!
Come and enjoy a relaxing retreat style experience in the historically significant area neighborhood of Lanesville, in Gloucester, Massachusetts on beautiful Cape Ann. This cozy, pretty, 646 sq ft cottage offers a studio-style layout, with a spacious sleeping loft upstairs with skylights (and pitched roof) which includes a comfortable queen bed and twin futon. along with a double futon bed in the main living room downstairs. Perfect for 1-2 people seeking quiet and R&R, minutes by foot from the rocky shores of stunning Folly Cove, where you can swim in the cool Atlantic Ocean straight from the shoreline. Cape Ann offers plenty of historical exploration opportunities, from the hiking trails of Dogtown and Halibut Point, to art galleries in Rockport and Rocky Neck, to beach experiences at Good Harbor Beach or Front and Back Beach, to name a few.

The cottage has a small kitchenette that includes a full-size fridge, a microwave and two burner stove with a sitting area for two, and a lovely, well-appointed bathroom with shower. Located on a beautifully landscaped property adjacent to lush woods, the cottage also has a private deck (11' x 9") with gas grill and a two-car parking space. Note: ceiling height 6'8" on main floor, 6'1" at peak in sleeping loft.

There are many excellent restaurants to choose from on Cape Ann, with Italian and fresh seafood being the local specialty. The "Lobster Pool," overlooking Ipswich Bay, is a favorite local summer place for fried fresh seafood and hot boiled lobster and lobster rolls within walking distance from the cottage. Come and enjoy all that Cape Ann has to offer from the beautiful cottage by the sea.

Great place!

Very beautiful place, better than expected, surprisingly comfortable for a familly of 4 and our dog, the owners were very nice and helpful. Can't ask for anything more!

Peaceful

This was our first time on Cape Ann and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The weather was perfect so we spent a fair amount of time out on the recently constructed deck. The gardens were beautiful and in bloom. Owners were friendly and helpful. Loved dinner at the Lobster Pool. Our daughter goes to college in Wenham, so we'll probably have more excuses for a visit.

So glad to hear you had good weather and enjoyed the deck! We think it's a wonderful addition to the Cottage -- a lovely little spot of privacy! No visit to Cape Ann is complete without a Lobster Pool dinner! Add to that an evening sunset over Folly Cove, then a walk up to Halibut Point to enjoy the moonrise over the quarry for a perfect day!

Great Cottage!

My wife and I stayed here back in early June and it was a wonderful experience! The cottage was very cozy and we loved the ladder leading up to the loft! There was plenty to do in the local area and the ocean (as well as a very nice seaside park!) is just minutes away. The cottage is not far from the last stop for one of the commuter trains going into Boston and Salem. It was very easy going into the city! The area was very charming and there were plenty of local restaurants nearby. Would very much stay again next time we are up in the area!

a hideaway amid the greenery

Quiet dead-end street that was beautiful, casual, lush old-time Gloucester. Separate small cottage, with big house nearby and owners on hand. Good privacy for two separate sleeping areas. Furnished with lots of helpful things, and plenty of space to lay "stuff" out. Room air conditioners kept the air cool during a terribly hot week. Very friendly and helpful owner nearby. Nice private deck to enjoy breakfast outside. I would definitely go again. Only drawback was two steps down to the bathroom, so you need to be aware of that.

Just as described

This little cottage was perfect. We loved the breezes at night, and spent a very nice afternoon on the deck drinking iced tea in the sunshine. And all the birds! this place was such a retreat. Other than the birds, the neighborhood was very quiet. Fireflies at night, a pretty garden to look at, a nice cemetery just one block away, Mary & Herb were right there for questions, we will definitely stay here again.

We had a lovely time near the ocean

This little cottage was our cozy home base for a few days of R&R near the ocean. The owners were very thoughtful in outfitting the cottage, and were available if we had a question. We recommend getting out to the beach to see a sunrise and taking advantage of the fresh local seafood. Thank you for a wonderful time away!

Perfect Tiny House in the Best Place on Earth

We love Gloucester and we love this little house. Clean, lovely, light filled, and a two minute walk to Folly Cove. Private little deck for morning coffee or evening cocktails. Owners live on property and you can tell it was designed with love.

The best we could have asked for

This beautiful cottage was a dream come true. A great visit to beautiful Rockport and surrounding areas, very comfortable, cozy, rustic but spotless, and so much character! I almost don't want to tell people about it because I want to make sure it's available when I book again. We were a family of 4 and our dog and it was perfect!!!! Our kids can't wait to come back and we went scuba diving walking distance away! The family renting their cottage were so kind too. A really great place that we all highly recommend!

Cozy winter cottage stay!

Great visit as always! Perfect (small) taste of winter. Had a great time sledding and made a lovely snow girl with hydrangea hair. Lots of whistling wind in the loft. And with no leaves on the trees - a slice of oceanview….Cozy Cozy Cozy!
