Getting Around:

Daufuskie has a very secluded and private feel with no bridge access by car and only arrival by ferry or boat. You will be able to rent golf carts to use for your traveling and exploring around the island. This means of transportation adds to the unique aspect of a vacation on Daufuskie!

Although I am not on the island, I do have an onsite property management team, Daufuskie Rental Group, to help you on island or with any questions prior to your stay. You are in good hands as the team lives on Daufuskie and ready to help!

Holiday weekend getaway

Our second time renting this property and it never disappoints. Group of locals that love to spend the off season on Daufuskie and this house was perfect. Lauren is very responsive and makes the check in/out process quick and easy. We’ll continue to rent this property from her because of the amazing experience we’ve had the last 2 visits.

Spectacular Ocean View

This was a lovely location for our family staycation on Daufuskie Island. We live in neighboring Hilton Head and have always wanted to explore Daufuskie as a family. This home provided us all the space and amenities we needed for a long weekend stay.

Magical !

My colleagues and I stayed at this beautiful home for a long weekend and it was magical. Lauren the owner was super responsive and assisted us with all our questions. We sat on that front porch and watched the sunrise every day, the dogs played on the beach. It was so much fun driving to dinner in the golf cart and navigating the island. We took a tour with Sallie and learned about the history of the island. I want to go back soon! Don’t hesitate it this place is available!

Great Property! Amazing views!

We traveled with a group of 7 of us and there was so much extra room! Kitchen was stocked with all of the the dishes and pots and pans needed to prepare amazing meals! Bedrooms were comfy and cozy. My favorite part of the home was the front porch, we rocked in the rocking chairs for hours during our stay! The Twiggs are amazing and responded to all of my questions in a timely fashion, we can’t wait to go back! Thank You again!

Needs to accommodate with a larger group ex: towels, plastic containers, plastic cups, House wasn’t the cleanest. Killed a lot of water bugs. Dryer wasn’t drying completely. Having to light the stove every time you needed to cook. Ice machine didn’t work. Overall had a great time!

Golf cart heaven and so much to explore

This property is amazing for family and friends! Everyone has their own bath and quiet space. The kitchen is very nicely stocked with cooking pans and dishes with a great grill. Incredible views of the ocean and sunrise. Our group included a grandmother 90 years old and a 3 year old with other adults and absolutely everyone found things to do and had a great time. Lauren was fantastic as a resource and very quick to respond to questions . True story it is a logistical challenge to get your groceries over and coordinate ferry and ground transportation…but Lauren was super helpful and it was very much worth it! There is so much history on the island and if you love golf carts then this is paradise! So much fun for the whole family to explore ! We definitely want to go back again! Without hesitation indorse the Twigg House property!

A very special home

I can’t say enough about this house, the island and the amazing owners. We were married on the island and hosted our reception at the home afterwards. It was the absolute perfect setting. There was amazing communication from the moment I inquired about the property, the entire time we were there and afterwards. They were willing to help with anything we needed and made our stay great. The house is beautiful and warm. The views are amazing. Daufuskie is so special to us. We will definitely be back. This house will always hold a special place in our hearts.

A relaxing week!

We LOVED this house and did not want to leave to go back to reality! Our group consisted of 5 adults (2 couples) and 2 teenagers - this house enabled us to have our own bedrooms and bathrooms! My daughter and son didn't have to share! Most of our time was spent on the porch and walking along the beach which felt like our own private beach! Everyone had a place to go to get some time alone and the open floor plan allowed us to have lots of time together to play games and enjoy meals! The kitchen had lots of supplies to make anything we wanted to make! Each time we requested items, they were delivered that same day! We loved our stay and Lauren was SO helpful with the millions of questions I asked her about the island! Thank you!

First time on Daufuskie.

First of all, pictures don't do this house justice. It is absolutely massive and we loved all the space. Location: just a short stroll to the beach. Never saw a neighbor and it was extremely quiet and peaceful. The sea wall is great for photos and wildlife watching. Crabs, seastars, sand dollars, birds, pretty much anything you would want to find at the beach. The only negative here is that unless the tide is out it is not really safe, imo, to swim with the sharp boards and such submerged in the water. We waited until the tide was out to swim, but the public beach was nice and only a short cart ride away. The host was responsive and answered all of our questions in a short period of time. Having 2 fridges was awesome for our large party. Air fryer and cofee maker, pretty much everything you need. Front porch was unbelievable. We loved our stay here and hope to come back!

Beautiful House but Needs a Little TLC

This house has a great floor plan for a large family or group of friends. Pleanty of room in the living room, huge kitchen, and fantastic porches! The only down side was that there were things in the house that needed attention—the dishwasher was not operational, the kitchen faucet was broken but useable, the golf cart battery had issues, and several other small things. If these things were fixed, I would have given it a 5. Be aware though that unless it’s low tide, the beach doesn’t exist. But that still gives you plenty of time to be on the beach and that the tv is only usable if you’re using Chromecast (which was actually kinda nice. No news!). We had a great time and the entire island is very chill and laid back.

Best House for Big Family

This was our third visit to Daufuskie and second time staying at the house. We brought more people this time. There was plenty of room for 4 families to not feel like we were on top of each other. There are 2 living room areas and 2 sets of washer/dryers. The A/C worked great. There are ceiling fans inside as well. Each bedroom has its own private bathroom and the showers are huge. Great location (can't beat the ocean view) inside Melrose and now the pool is open. The granddad in our group enjoyed almost the entire week rocking on the front porch watching all the different ships go by. The home is equipped with many of the things you need - we found beach towels, a handful of beach chairs, plenty of plates & kitchen utensils, extra blankets, and a few movies and games. The owner is very friendly, easy to interact with, and quick to respond to questions. I'm thankful our big family was able to enjoy this house a second time.

Our best life!

Amazing!

Everything about the house was perfect! The owner was quick to answer any questions and offer suggestions. The island was so peaceful and secluded like a dream. With a big family the place was the perfect size. I would recommend this to anyone and would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Spring Break Coming out of Quarantine

We loved the property! The setting was incredible. You won't believe the sunrise the pours through the living room windows. The porches are incredible. The house was wonderful and gave us the room and privacy to relax and enjoy each other.

Great weekend getaway

Did a quick weekend getaway with a group of friends and couldn’t of been happier with our experience and stay. We’re all locals of the area and wanted to do something different and the Twigg house was the answer. Amazing views and fantastic house overall. We will definitely be returning.

Coming from a small town in Pa. our family built this home in 2000 after spending almost 14 years vacationing on Daufuskie. My Dad played in the Harbor Town Heritage Pro Am Tournament for several years, and it was the one place our family would vacation each summer, some falls, and even a few Christmases.

The Island has such rich history, including a little First Union African Baptist church we attend while we are there, with a rich history that could never be matched. We grew up vacationing on the island like it was a second home. We found Indian pottery and arrowheads while walking the beach. These are just a few of the historical aspects deeming Daufuskie to be so unique, rich, and diverse in its offerings.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

Listening to the calm and serene sounds of the Calibogue Sound, & watching the bald eagles fly by, and viewing the fireworks at Harbor Town and Tybee island on the 4th of July are just a few things we see from our front porch. Our home is set up to enjoy the company of one another, to cook and share a meal, catch blue crabs in the ocean when the tide is low, or share dinner with an islander at the Daufuskie Crab Company, the Eagles Nest at Bloody Point, or Lucy Bell's Cafe'. Enjoy listening to a live band with the locals most in season weekends. These are just a few of the special things we look forward to enjoying on our visits to this island paradise we call Daufuskie.

We would be happy to assist you in planning your special Wedding Day, Vow Renewal, friend or family reunions, or any other special event you may have in mind! Your event will be given special attention beginning with a detailed discussion on each specific aspect. This may include location of activities, catering options, and any additional coordination to help make your event as smooth as possible. We will discuss the additional fees that will be included in relation to the amount of detail you would like from our house personnel.
