Amazing trip for my little family

My daughters and I had an amazing time at the sweet Escape. We stayed for a week and enjoyed the beach access, views of the bay, dolphins swimming and also the town of white stone and kilmarnock. My nanny lived in white stone when I was a little girl and staying here really brought back a lot of memories. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

The house is quirky and fun. The view is incredible and we all felt at peace just hanging out in the backyard, feet from the crashing waves. We will definitely return!

Cute White Stone water house

The house was perfect for me, my husband and dog! We enjoyed being so close to the water. Its close enough to town but far enough way to feel secluded.

Quiet Getaway

It was a nice get away for our wedding anniversary. We were able to bring our dogs and use the private strip of beach a couple of cottages away. This was a great quiet trip. The only thing that could have been better is the AC in the cottage. A window unit is provided but with 90 temps it couldn’t keep up.

Simple and Relaxing Getaway

The interior of the property looked like the listing but the exterior of the property could use some upkeep. The owner of the property was very responsive and helpful with any questions we had during our stay. The place was quaint and the view was breathtaking. It had everything we need for a simple and relaxing weekend away. The fire pit was perfect for making s'mores and staying warm on the cool nights.

The property is a quaint cottage that sits right on the Chesapeake Bay. The amenities are simple but adequate and comfortable (don't expect high-end luxury, though). The owner and property manager were very attentive and a pleasure to work with. The only issue we had was unrelated to the house; a big Nor'Easter resulted in storm surge that caused the Chesapeake to overflow the seawall and flood the waterfront neighborhood, including the property. Absent that, it would have been the perfect getaway weekend.

Best View on the Bay

This was the most amazing weekend we have had at a VRBO property! The location is absolutely unbeatable and the cottage is brimming with character and ambiance. We loved every minute of our stay and will definitely return. This property is a gem and we feel so blessed to have found this listing.

Super moon in autumn

Eclectic cottage the way they where originally done. Perfect location for never ending views. The full moon casting its glow over the water was perfect.

property looks much nicer in pics. house is pretty run down. yard work was half done. garbage bin is very small. was left only 5 towels for a week with 6 ppl. over all is a nice location, just needs some work.

Great location, lots of charm

We booked this for an anniversary trip, and the owner was wonderful. The location was amazing, too. The house is dated but full of charm. The bed and couch were comfortable, and the view from every window was amazing. The only negatives have nothing to do with the house and the obscene fees attached to it. But that is the service, not the house. We would 100% stay here again down the road.

Pleasantly surprised

I was honestly a little nervous when I read some of these negative reviews before my trip, but I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. The cottage is definitely in need of some TLC, but it was clean, functional and comfortable. I had an amazing time! Perfect for someone who doesn’t mind a quaint place with a few blemishes.

The comments noted previously still remain true and accurate. Wish we had paid attention before booking. The photos are deceptive. Look for another property near here... it's a great location.

We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following: - The majority of our previous complaints were due to a leaky roof, a non-flushing toilet, spotty hot water availability, or flooding in the yard. We are happy to report that each of these issues has been addressed and fully taken care of. - We use professional photography for the home, so the features you see on the listing are accurately advertised. - There have actually been a few improvements made to the home since the photos were taken including a completely cleared and re-done yard that guests have been enjoying. Cozy adventure

This place was clean and bright and the host left some nice touches for us, but as noted on another review, not quite up to the description. With that in mind, we came prepared. There only a small heater in the bedroom and a wood stove in the main room. Keeping this going was a chore, but a great way to spend the Thanksgiving holiday. It will be a great memory for years to come.

Nightmare With Beautiful View

Drove up to property that had junk on it, along with very uneven grounds.. Trip hazards. Not enough lighting at night outside. And then inside, first thing we encountered was nats. Also ants all over kitchen sink. We love the view.
