Two room, "upstairs" suite in Flintstone, GA which is a quiet, rural community located at the foot of Lookout Mountain and only a beautiful drive 10 miles from downtown Chattanooga; riverfront; TN Aquarium; Coolidge Park; lots of great restaurants, and many other outdoor sights & activities. Our place is a private upstairs unit, that is accessed through the main house (back door) but only a short distance to the stairs. The steps are very well lit with a hand rail but are a little steep.The unit can sleep three (queen bed and a twin bed), with off road parking and a well lit entrance. We provide water, juice, oatmeal and coffee for breakfast. There's a microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, ice bucket, plates, silverware and even a corkscrew. Convenient to the Iron Man Course, Riverbend Festival, Fall Foliage Festivals, many bicycle races, Ironman, UTC, Covenant College and several popular barn wedding & events venue. There's also LOTS of live music venues.

Loveliest of times at this home!! Friendly, present hosts. Great location for what we needed. Would do fine without the scented plug-ins, but that was an easy adjustment. Would be so happy to stay there again.

Friendly family, great stay!

Cozy cottage

The wife and I suggest everyone give this place a shot. It’s cozy and very peaceful. The owners are lovely and answered all of our questions and also gave good suggestions for hiking, restaurants and tourist places all over the area. We highly recommend this place for a loving couple. We will definitely be back, soon!

Comfortable and safe

Very happy with my stay at The Roost! Traveling with my kids safety is my number 1 concern and we felt so comfortable staying here. There are nice touches to help make the stay comfortable. Would absolutely stay again!

Super comfortable and great location

Our hosts were very kind and helpful with info on local areas. The beds were super comfortable, which is not always the case with some VRBOs. Amenities were all there as needed...and it had a great shower. It was quiet and was perfect for a writers' weekend get away. Our book is nearly complete now!

Perfect and so affordable!

We enjoyed everything about our stay! The owners are so kind and the space was just perfect for a quick girl's weekend away! We will definitely be back to visit! Quick trip with the kids

We had a quick post-Christmas getaway. The location was super convenient to Chattanooga but in a very quiet neighborhood. Yvonne & Jim were so friendly! We loved The Roost and would definitely stay again!!

Cozy little place

The owners were great and very helpful with reviews of local things to do. It’s a perfect location for lookout mountain, Chattanooga downtown and plenty of hiking trails all around. The rooms we stayed in were nice and clean. Very cozy. I would stay here again on our next visit to the area. 5 Stars easily.

Great rural getaway

Great time at The Roost. Yvonne & Jim were extremely hospitable and gracious hosts. The Roost was simple but sweet and had everything needed for a weekend getaway. There isn't a full kitchen, but as long as you know that going in, this spot is perfect for the location and price.

Excellent lodging for a small family. Quiet, cozy, and clean, not to mention affordable.

The owners were warm and friendly, the house charming, and the room very comfortable with all the amenities you would expect from a hotel room. There’s a steep climb up the stairway to the room, but our four year old managed it perfectly. The location was peaceful and only a few minutes’ drive to all things Chattanooga.

The Roost is great!

Our stay at The Roost was fantastic! There was plenty of space for our group of four of 2 adults and two teens. There were comfy beds, a nice work space to do homework, games for unwinding, plenty of snacks/cocoa for a special treat, and the hosts were really sweet and informative. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Great getaway

The Roost was a great getaway for Memorial Day weekend. It was perfect for our family, and Yvonne and Jim are wonderful hosts! Our boys fell in love with their pup Fergie, and she always greeted us with a wagging tail! Thank you for opening your home to us.

Flintstone GA comfy stay

Yvonne and Jim are some of the friendliest, most accommodating hosts that I’ve had. The Roost is a quaint home away from home. Very clean, well stocked and comfortable. Even though the Roost is upstairs in their home, we had so much privacy, didn’t see them except for the first and last day, it was a space to ourselves. We will be staying again!

We enjoyed the Roost

The Roost was just as described, and we enjoyed our stay. The one thing I didn't catch from the listing (it may have been there and I missed it) was there is not a separate entrance. It worked fine, just different than I expected. It was lovely, and we had a nice time and enjoyed our host's personal touches.

Great location! Great hosts!!

This was the first time booking a Vrbo and it was a great experience! Yvonne and Jim made sure that almost anything a guest would need was provided. Towels, snacks, coffee, hair dryer, fresh towels, etc. Yvonne greeted us upon arrival and we had called to let her know it would be a late check in. She was there with a smile to show us our room. Although this is in their home, it felt very private. It was close to all we planned to do! Perfect location! We had the opportunity to visit with Yvonne and Jim when we checked out and just loved talking with them! We will be back!! Thank you for providing a great place to lay our heads!!

Our stay at the Roost

Our first VRBO experience was awesome! Our hostess Yvonne greeted us at our car and then sweet Fergie, there dog gave us a welcome every time we left and returned. Our room was perfect for our family of 5, 3 adults and 2 children. They made sure we had everything we needed and it felt like home. We enjoyed talking with Jim and Yvonne. Thank you for a great time. We will use VRBO again and hope to be back to The Roost someday. Also, thanks for making our granddaughter feel so special with those skeleton keys you gave her.

Yvonne and Jim are just the nicest folks! They made us feel right at home, again!

Second stay!!! We knew we were going to be late arriving. We brought our 6 year old granddaughter along this time. Yvonne gladly set up the extra twin bed and had the futon made up for our 14 year old son. It was so nice to shower and crawl into bed without that extra work. Having breakfast items, snacks, juice, water and hot beverages was so nice! It had been a while since supper so having microwave popcorn was awesome!!! You just can’t beat the comfort and economy of staying at “The Roost”! We’ll definitely be back!

Welcoming Hosts and Wonderful Stay

We loved our stay in Flintstone. The hosts are very nice and knowledgeable about the area. The apartment perfectly fit our needs. The beds were comfortable, the snacks were a great perk, and the area is quiet and safe. The area is beautiful! We really enjoyed our stay!

Comfortable and cozy

Staying at the Roost was a fantastic experience! Yvonne and Jim are so welcoming, and they really have thought of everything to make the place feel like home. Travelers since 2015 but hosts since September 2017, Yvonne and her husband Jim enjoy life, family, friends and meeting new people. We enjoy diversity and cultural experiences of all kinds. Learning about other cultures has always been important to us. This is expressed in our love of traveling to London, Paris, Spain, Kenya, Haiti, Jamaica, Japan & Sri Lanka.

But closer to home, we are blessed with three grown children, two daughters-in-law, a son-in-law and "currently" eight, make that nine now beautiful grandchildren !!! We are the happiest when we are hosting family gatherings around a meal; whether in the dining room, an outdoor yard party or hot dogs and s'mores around the campfire.

Throughout our many years, we have both work in service oriented jobs because we enjoy taking care of and providing help to others. Most of all we are blessed with sharing life together for 40 years ........ and we still love one another immensely.

Our home is located in rural Flintstone but only 10 miles from Chattanooga, TN. We can sit on the back-porch while listening to the crickets and cows. We are located away from the hustle and bustle of town but only a 15 minutes drive to many great restaurants, outdoor sports & events, and many wedding & music venues.
Our home is an old farm house built in 1922 with a very comfortable and homey feeling and we want to share with others. We enjoying meeting people and especially want to enhance their vacation/stay by making The Roost comfortable and clean. But because it was built in 1922, the steps to the unit are steep.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

Our home/apt. is on an acre of property, which is plenty of room for our grandchildren to enjoy. With it being an old farm house, it's not perfect but it's our home. We're not afraid of roller skates on our wood floors, mud pies on the walkway or chalk art on the driveway. We enjoy art work and the beauty of creation with many plants (in the summer :) as expressed with our sculptures and in our walkway. We also have a beautiful view of Lookout Mountain.
