Home was as decribed. The kitchen had everything you could need, spices, plenty of dishes and utensils. We had a number of friends rent different places for the weekend and ours was by far the best one. I wish we would have stayed a few extra days to relax and enjoy the beautiful property but we were there for a wedding .

Back Country Getaway

We simply loved our stay at this back country home. Our children loved the arcade and the pond. We had a scenic 20 minute drive to Elk Mt. Ski Resort. The check in was super smooth and the house sparkling clean. We cant wait to come again on our next ski trip to Elk!!!

Elk Mountain House

Excellent house! Stayed for my husbandā€™s birthday. Had friends and family and skied for several days. The house is perfect and the kitchen has everything. It snowed all day Sunday and it was just beautiful staying inside with a fire and watching the snow while football was on the TV. Not one suggestion or complaint. We will def rent again.

This was my 3rd time at this house. It was great. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook. The option to set the heat in each room such a plus. Only thing was a minor glitch with the wifi, resolved the last day. I would recommend this house

Wonderful Home

This home exceeded our expectations and was even more lovely than the pictures showed online. We felt very secluded on this private property, but close enough to Elk Mt to enjoy time on the slopes. Our family slept very comfortably in the 3 large bedrooms upstairs, and the basement had full over full bunk beds and a king bed (not listed). The beautiful, and functional, kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to prepare our meals. Many thanks to the host, we will be back!

Great Ski Weekend at Elk!!!

We had a fantastic weekend staying at this property and skiing at Elk Mountain. Elk Mountain was about 15 minutes away and easy to get to. The property is beautiful, with a wonderful backyard. The house itself is clean, modern, and plenty of room. Everything that you need is there. Plenty of space for everyone, including the kids to run around. Gary was very responsive to our needs and questions. I highly recommend this properly. Will definitely stay here again!!

Great house for NYE weekend!

We had a wonderful stay! The house was perfect for our 3 families to enjoy a nice time together for NYE weekend! All of the reviews raved about how clean the house was & they were so right! The house was spotless! There was plenty of space for the adults and kids to hang out and enjoy. The property is huge and we enjoyed the outdoor fire pit too! The owner was easy to get it touch with & was able to answer any questions we had quickly. We had a nice time skiing at Elk Mountain which was an easy drive from the location. We would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking for a place to stay with a group & we would definitely stay here again in the future.

Lovely home in a quiet area

Lots of pros: home was lovely, comfortable and clean. Lots of space for our whole family and the yard was beautiful. The kitchen was well stocked (altho probably could use a clean out to get rid of long ago expired items. The only down side was with the showers. The house is advertised as sleeping 14 but you can only use one shower at once as there is not enough water preasure to use both showers at once. This particularly impacted us as we we were all attendimg a mid morning funeral. duneral offered

Perfect accommodation for Family Reunion

We recently traveled to Thompson for a Family Reunion and this home was the perfect accommodation for our 12 guests. The owner was proactive in communicating in advance of our trip and was prompt with responses to our inquiries during our stay. The highlight of the house is certainly the back porch. It looks out onto a massive property with an Apple Tree and pond. We spent some fishing during the day and used the Firepit in the evening. Plenty of wildlife -- including deer, a bald eagle, and we even spotted a Black Bear off in the distance while sipping morning coffee! Worth noting the final ~5 minutes of the drive to get to the house are on unpaved terrain, but it wasn't a problem or concern for us. I have no hesitations about recommending this home to anyone for a future stay. If you're looking for a peaceful / serene place located in Northeastern PA, this is the home for you and your guests.

Dirty cabin with broken utilities

Rented for a family spot to meet for Thanksgiving. Neighborhood has a squatter house as you drive past for check in. Someoneā€™s dirty socks were on the bathroom sink. Mold in shower stalls. Dead flies on every windowsill - we had to clean the place when we got there. Kept photos for proof. Mouse poop covering the mouse trap in the basement - clearly hasnā€™t been emptied in ages, and is only attracting live mice and containing dead ones. The jetted tub that had photos and was mentioned in the listing doesnā€™t work and they say no one in the area will fix it, so donā€™t count on using it. Toaster doesnā€™t work either. Basement smells like dead mice. There are visible dead mice in a dirty crawl space that I suspect the owner cannot reach, in the renovated basement, behind a window. The Wi-Fi was not running half the weekend. There were dirty grounds left in the coffee maker. Stove and sink were filthy for us on Thanksgiving. They mentioned a premium cleaning and sanitation service was supposed to be there before us but then revealed there was no service, they said ā€œit was clean when we leftā€ and they didnā€™t use the service after all. They still charged for a cleaning service. Owner would not do anything about any of this when it was brought to their attention, once we were there they were only interested in taking our money and moving on. We still paid a cleaning fee, they didnā€™t offer to come and take care of the mouse feces or the dead flies.

Beautiful spacious country home with all the amenities!

My family and I came up for a long weekend! Six of us in total! Ample space to accommodate more. We thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of the property and all the amenities. My kids were in awe of the stars due to the lack of light pollution. Gary was very easy to deal with and was prompt to respond to any questions. Fair warning. It is a little over twenty minutes to the nearest grocery store due to the country roads. Would definitely stay again!
