Year round 4 bedroom, 2 full baths, 4 car garage on Handsome Lake. Close to Elk Mountain, one exit south. Private dock, central air conditioning, large rooms, beautiful screened in porch and private patio area. Quiet lake with no motor boats allowed (electric ok) which makes it perfect for swimming. Wonderful and family friendly community! Age restriction of 35 for adults, max number of adults 8. Fifteen minutes from Clarks Summit and Waverly. Linens and towels are only provided for stays of 4 nights and more.

Everything was great - this is a wonderful place!It was a lovely, relaxing getaway for our family. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed. Our favorite place was the screened porch! The pond lake was a beautiful view and was delightful for water activities. Would highly recommend the location, home, and the host!

Perfect for Elk Mountain skiing

The house was very clean with plenty of space for the 5 adults and 1 teenager. The lake was beautiful and perfect for fishing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. The neighbors are friendly (but not invasive). We had an incredible time here and would definitely come back!! Grocery store is about 15 min and same with some fantastic restaurants.

Spent a skiing weekend at this house, and must say couldn’t have gone smoother. House is very clean views around the property are beautiful and close to Elk Mountain owners were a big help and really make sure you enjoy your stay.

Great house at the lake!

This is one of the best VRBOs where I've ever stayed. House is in great condition, super clean, very roomy, and well stocked with the little things (soaps at the sinks, toilet paper, salt and pepper, etc.). Owner was always very responsive and helpful when I had questions. Can't wait to come back!

Winter Getaway

Had a wonderful stay. Ice Fished on the pond, beautiful view. Close to Elk mountain where we skied. Clean and spacious home (wonderful closet space!). Having garage parking was nice, especially since steep driveway was not accessible due to winter weather.

Magical Stay

I grew up in nearby Scranton and have never heard of Handsome Lake (where the property is located). Being familiar with the area and many of the lakes and ponds close by my expectations were significantly exceeded. The house, property manager and experience were first class. Highly recommend a stay.

A delightful getaway

The house was comfy, clean, and very spacious, the covered porch being my favorite spot, especially during a thunder storm. The lake was clean, swimmable and had lots of fish! The neighbors were friendly. The house had everything we needed for entertainment; games, movies, tubes and kayaks. We really enjoyed our stay!

Awesome lake community

House is exactly as described, all beds and furniture very comfortable. I loved reading on the outdoor furniture and the screened in porch. Very quiet and family friendly. Kitchen well stocked and a Weber grill outside. We kayaked, canoed, and fished off the dock. I have to say its the first time I've seen one of my family members actually relax!

Perfect Vacation

Five adults and 2 children shared this home for a week. It was great! Home was clean, Sarah was very helpful answering questions. We are from FL, so the home had everything we needed and we only had to grocery shop. The neighbors were very kind as well. It was a very special week for our family. Thank you!

Perfect lake house retreat!

Wow, we are still on cloud-9 and not wanting to leave vacation mode! Sarah’s home is beautiful, sparkling clean, and homey. The lake was gorgeous even in the fog. Sarah was very responsive and the house was well equited and exactly as pictured. We enjoyed our NYE getaway and look forward to coming back to Sarah’s home in the summer to enjoy the lake and gorgeous outdoor area. Thank you Sarah!

Very Nice waterfront property close to Elk Mountain

Very spacious and comfortable property right on the water with docks and great view. The property was as described in VRBO. Was nice and clean including providing of clean towels, bedding, etc. Clearly the owners take good care of the property and interaction with Sarah was effortless. We there there to ski at Elk which was only 10-12 minutes each way and almost a direct route. Easy peasy. Thanks for such a relaxing visit!

Serene Lake House

We had the most relaxing stay at the lake house for Thanksgiving. Although we celebrated the holiday with family only a few miles away, I was able to prepare an assortment of food to bring with us, while the family 4 & 5 year old watched Macys parade. The rooms are spacious and just love the extra closet space. The extra long dining table was perfect not just for eating but we played a lot of games, and my DIL worked on and finished 1000 piece puzzle. One of my favorites, was drinking my coffee while watching the sun slowly come up over the lake….just so relaxing. Can’t wait to come back to this beautiful lake home!!

Wonderful Place!

From the very beginning the Owner responded to my questions quickly. The house is exactly how it is described, beautiful and very comfortable. My Son loved the bunk beds - slept in one and hung out in the other one. The water view was amazing from the bedrooms and the living room. We spent most of our time out on the deck or dock fishing. My Son loved kayaking around and catching lots of fish. We enjoyed our nights sitting by the fire, looking at all the stars in the sky. The area is very quiet and the neighbors are very friendly. We enjoyed a nearby orchard and some hiking. Excellent place to come and relax, we will be returning. Thanks Sarah for being a wonderful Host. Deb, Jim and Kyle

Absolutely perfect. Great experience from booking to check out. The house was exactly as specified. Our son is attending Keystone College and the proximity to the school is great. Amazing stay

We were in town for the Steamtown Marathon and made a long weekend of it. I cannot say enough good things about this place! Sarah was a fantastic host and every piece of the stay exceeded our expectations. Convenient location so we could see civilization if we needed it, but also enjoyed the serenity of the country, particularly the lake. We fished from the dock and canoe daily and caught crappies, bluegill and large mouth bass. Kids went swimming from the dock. No one wanted to leave. Highly recommend!

Wonderful family vacation!

We loved this beautiful home, with many amenities. There was plenty of space for the 8 people in our family to sleep and eat, and the beds were very comfortable. The lake was clean to swim and kayak in, and overall it was such a peaceful place. We enjoyed every minute of every day!

We absolutely love this home and our neighbors but just don't have enough free time to get there as much as we would like. I only live about 15 minutes from the property and can be there to help in any way as needed.

We just loved the house and large rooms. It is more than a seasonal cabin, it is truly a home. It has all of the modern amenities one could want but still maintains charm and a uniqueness.

Kayaks, tubes, etc. for use. Game room under the garage to hook up an Xbox or Playstation. Fooseball table. Screened in porch. Large patio with dining and seating area.
