'Point Taken' is a charming property on Carmel Point with two parts - a main Cottage (2 bedrooms with 2 baths) and a separate Casita/Master Suite (1 bedroom with 1.0 bath/shower ensuite) affording quiet comfort. Fully updated, while preserving Carmel charm. Roomy, quaint, stylishly furnished. Immaculate inside, lush formal garden and landscape outside. Ideal location- short walk to River Beach, Carmel Beach, Mission and Mission Ranch and downtown Carmel. Top grade amenities, linens, entertainment systems, etc. Enjoy the pleasures of Carmel life in this homey environment or around town. We have a 240 vault electric car charger in our driveway. We rent minimum for one week. During AT&T Golf Tournament week, our minimum is 3 nights. Also, we will consider 5 day rentals at certain periods of the year. Feel free to check in with us. Check in 3p - Check out 11a.

We have seasonal, holiday and event week rates:
October through April: $6000/week
May through September: $7500/week
Holiday Weeks: $8500/week
Concours Week: $15,000/week
AT&T Golf Week: $2000/night

Wonderful home in perfect location.

Carmel cottage

The house was very nice and well stocked. It’s in a great location. Quiet, yet close to everything. Communication with hosts was very good. We would definitely stay here again.

Christmas in Carmel

We loved visiting Carmel by the Sea and especially staying at this house. The house had everything we needed and was cozy and comfortable! We loved the closeness to town as well as the beautiful walk to the ocean. We can’t wait to come back.

Perfect Carmel Point Home

This house was in such a great location to walk to two beaches or the scenic Carmel Point drive. It was such a treat to load the kids in the wagon and stroll, or get in the car and drive 40 mins to the heart of Big Sur. The house itself was a lovely spacious cottage with nice touches of personality, an awesome stove, and a kitchen well stocked with cooking tools. We greatly enjoyed sitting on the limestone patio and stargazing at night. It was a relaxing dream of a vacation.

Christmas for our family

This is a beautiful well equipped and furnished property in a spectacular location. Easy walks to the beach through beautiful neighborhood. The owners were especially responsive to a couple of our requests. The separate Casita unit was very convenient for our family, allowing a little privacy for some, but a great place for the whole group to gather as well in the main home. The side terrace gardens and patios add an extra dimension for outdoor living, with beautiful landscaping. The neighborhood feels very safe and quiet with very little traffic.

A needed break

The cottage is very comfortable, featuring warm colors, posters from art museums, and attractive furnishings in very good condition. The separate casita, which the two of us did not use, looks ideal to provide privacy for additional guests. The kitchen was well equipped. The owners were very responsive. The cottage is very close to Carmel River State Beach and a fairly easy walk to the town beach and the town. We definitely will return.

Really Nice spot

The house and property are charming and well appointed. We came with our 2 teenage kids who each had a nice bedroom in the main house and we took the Casita. All had plenty of space and also there is a nice common area in the main house. Kitchen is small but very well stocked and easy to cook in. Nice dining area. Perfect for a family of 4. Very nice small outdoor areas with room to work and sit. Just charming overall. And only a short walk to a magnificent beach and also to scenic drive. Prefect as out of town a bit for quiet but short drive or long walk to town and then right on beach for the full Carmel experience

Not totally satisfied

This confirms what we heard about vrbo not checking properly their rented properties. The house was charming but the entry door was dirty, the kitchen not very neat. The beds were good but the linens had some old stains. There was a bad smell in the bathroom. But despite all that we had a good time. Great location

Things that need improvement

1. Shower in the house does not drain properly. By the time hot water reached the shower head there was already about 1 inch of water in the shower floor, by the time a short shower is complete, you ae standing in about 2 inches of "soapy water". Not good! 2. Counter space in the kitchen is very limited. What is available is taken up with counter oven, microwave, and innumerable coffee machines and multiple other devices. There is no room left to do any food preparation. 3. TV is difficult to operate, unless one is an experienced "Technical Person" 4. Lighting in the living area is inadequate. 5. Tried to reach the property manager 3 times. Waa never able to reach him. Left a message on his voice mail, but did nor return my call.

Everything there was just as we expected and very comfortable. The owner was very polite and responsive to questions. The small guest house in the back is a nice amenity. We would stay there again.

Great location, great house

In a quiet residential neighborhood, this charming house is a 5 minute walk to the beach, and a 20 minute walk to town. It's an easy 6 minute drive to a shopping center outside of town: supermarket, drugstore, hairdresser, kids toy store, restaurants etc. Very easy to access main road to Big Sur, Point Lobos, Pebble Beach, Monterrey etc. We LOVED the house: the private patios, the layout of the house, the stylish charm of all of it. The shower in the casita was fabulous (and this is from a bath tub lover!)

sweet little jewel in Carmel

We had an amazing stay in Carmel at this cottage. It had all amenities for a comfortable stay and the owners were easy to work with. They responded quickly to our inquiries! The casita was an added bonus for our parents who joins us for a few nights during our stay. They loved the king size bed and the shower (great water pressure - said it felt spa-like!) Our kiddos loved the window benches for reading and peeking out at the gardens and the cozy living room with chess table was used every night! It's an easy walk to the beach and a quick drive (or a little longer walk if you don't have kids in a stroller ... no sidewalks. But that's part of the charm of Carmel streets) Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us!

Fantastic house in Carmel

The house was fantastic! It is beautifully furnished with a south of France personality. Spacious bedrooms, excellent kitchen and adjacent dining room, also a vast living room with cable TV, Wifi, and games galore. We loved walking to the lagoon and playing in the water, and also the nearby playground. Our five year old was enthralled with the "magical path" around the house and he was very safe because the courtyard is fenced off from the street. The owner provided extensive instructions for every feature of the house and we appreciated that tremendously.

A little slice of Heaven!

This charming Carmel by the Sea house was just perfect for our extended family! Having the main house with the rear guest house provided privacy as well as a gathering spot for all. The house was well equipped for cooking, the fireplace was great for chilly evenings, the courtyard was a wonderful outdoor room, the beds were comfortable,the short walk to the beach and town was lovely... I can't say enough good things about this darling home! We will definitely stay here on our next visit!!

Peace in Carmel

Great house with all you could need. Very convenient location with easy walk to beach, shops and Scenic drive. Easy access to Highway 1 for trips to Monterey, 17 mile drive and Big Sur. Jealous of our daughters who stayed in the Casita which was amazing. The patio was a great place to stay warm when the winds on the beach were too strong. Riva was great to work with and always helpful with any questions. Highly recommended.
