Relax and enjoy nature, wildlife and starry skies on this sprawling estate 7 minutes from Buttermilk Falls State Park, Robert Treman State Park, and 15 minutes from Ithaca. The home is newer with all of the modern comforts, yet set on a historic farm with a pre-civil war barn as a backdrop on one side and endless fields and rolling hills on the other.

1 king bed and 2 queen beds in 3 bedrooms provide ample, comfortable space for groups or to provide a quiet workspace. Fast wifi in every room, new appliances, new smart TVs and HE washer and dryer provide all the conveniences of home. Enjoy morning coffee on the covered porch, dine on the deck, or stay cozy inside the spacious house with plenty of space to work, play or relax. Deer are regular visitors in the backyard, along with many other wildlife friends. Enjoy nature and the beautiful views from this gorgeous property.

Visit Newfield, the home of the oldest covered bridge in the nation, and enjoy casual dining and a great time in the quaint restaurants and bars in Newfield. Breweries, cider houses and wineries are minutes away. Ithaca is an easy 15-minute drive.

A beautiful property in the countryside outside Ithaca, only a short drive to town. The house was immaculately clean and big enough to comfortably fit our family of 5. Would definitely stay again!

This was the most wonderful, comfortable stay. The property is beautiful and the beds are so comfortable. I enjoyed taking in the scenery from the huge yard, the deck and even from inside the home through all of the wonderful windows. The host was great and available, though I didn’t need anything, the home is very well outfitted.I will look forward to coming back for another enjoyable getaway.

This property and this host are awesome. Very clean and beautiful. Lore, the host, is wonderful. Ver communicative and helpful. I highly recommend this property. We stayed for parent’s weekend at Cornell and while the property is a bit of a drive (20 -25 minutes), it is worth it. Great property!

Amazing place, so peaceful and comfy! There is a farm stand shop close by where I got pretty much everything needed as far as food, and then a couple of really cool small restaurants in the area that were so much fun to try. Took me about 20 minutes to drive where I needed to be in Ithaca (Cornell) for a meeting. Worth it for the true vacation feel of this place! The host was super great to communicate with.

Stay was amazing. Our host was awesome. Everything about the home and location was better than expected. We’ve stayed in hotels in Ithaca before but this was much better, still close to everything but without the traffic congestion and so much more space, not to mention beautiful home and views. We were literally 5 minutes from Treman Park and its amazing waterfalls and rock formations. Loved the quaint feel of Newfield while still being convenient to Cornell. Will definitely book this property again!!!

Awesome place to stay! We came to hike the state parks and explore the area, and coming back to relax at this beautiful place was a highlight. Great home base for our adventures! The host was super nice as well. Would definitely recommend and hope to be back!

Great house and great location. We primarily wanted to check out the state parks in winter while we visited our son at Cornell and we were very happy to have chosen this property. It felt as though we had our own vacation home- private, comfortable and quiet. We really enjoyed the area. Lore was great and had great recommendations.

Professional host. Clean rooms and new kitchen appliances. Comfortable sofa and beds. Quiet and beautiful views. Plenty of towels and sitting areas. Child friendly. Suggest shower mat upstairs. Clean a/c filters. And change fridge filter.

Hi Helen, thanks so much for your positive review! I just wanted to let you know that the fridge filter is regularly changed and the a/c filters are cleaned at regular intervals. I am the one that changed the fridge filter prior to your stay and I did not know how to reset the “change filter” light so while the filter was changed, the notification remained. My cleaner knew how to reset it and did that after your stay. 😊 There are also bath mats in both bathrooms, the cleaner folds them and puts them on the shelf In each bathroom where the towels are. This way you know they are clean and fresh every time. For any future questions, please feel free to ask! I am happy to answer any questions guests have. Thank you again for staying!

Such a wonderful home! We so enjoyed this cozy yet expansive property! We experienced a winter wonderland with deer visitors, an amazing big red barn backdrop, comfy furnishings and great views from every window. Newfield was new to us and we love it! What a great little town just outside Ithaca. Our new favorite place to stay when coming to the Ithaca area! Can’t wait to come back to the Bauernhof!

We really enjoyed our stay. Lore, the host, was so easy to work with - very responsive. The house was very nice and literally had everything we needed. We cooked alot and were impressed by all the items that were available to us. It really felt like a home away from home. The grounds were beautiful. The swing set was simple, yet perfect for our toddler. There was lots of wildlife and even birdseed to feed the birds, chipmunks and even the deer came up for a snack. It was a great place. And we appreciated the location... Convenient, yet far enough away for the privacy we were looking for. Lots of great hikes just a quick 10 mins away. Definitely will book again when we return to Ithaca.

Excellent experience. This home is in a very peaceful location with great views everywhere you look. It's furnished and decorated very nicely and the beds are so comfortable that I had my best sleep in ages.We are so glad we branched out from staying in Ithaca. This is just far enough out to feel like the country, but Ithaca is just a few minutes away. It's also very convenient to 2 phenomenal state parks.We loved our stay and will definitely be back.

The house is perfect! Big open front room with sliding doors that reveal a huge, beautiful property set in the mountains and trees. Bedrooms are just as described, with comfortable mattresses and bedding. If you're open to being about 25 minutes outside of downtown Ithaca, this place is worth the drive!

We had a great time at this beautiful place! Kitchen has everything needed to cook a big meal, and nice new appliances. Plenty of room for multiple people in the kitchen. We also loved eating out on the deck while seeing the expansive nature view and the distant hills and listening to the many birds. It was perfect.

This is a fabulous place. We had the most wonderful time both at and around the home and exploring all of the things to do nearby. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful and the quaint town of Newfield is such a treasure! Getting to our son in Ithaca was easy, and it was great fun staying just a bit outside town in this gorgeous area and gorgeous home. Lore was a very gracious host, we didn’t need for anything. We will most certainly be back, and can’t wait!

This was the perfect retreat for me and my wife while visiting our college students. The beds are extremely comfortable and the home is appointed with everything we needed. We truly enjoyed having coffee in the mornings and a glass of wine in the evenings on the porch, enjoying the beautiful views, privacy and wildlife. Host was very friendly and available to answer questions when we asked about restaurant recommendations, we got some great ones! We will absolutely be back on our next visit.

This is the place for anyone who loves fresh air, lovely views, peaceful quiet, and comfy beds. The kitchen was well stocked with necessities and the host was communicative and friendly! We had a bit of trouble with the door lock when we first arrived, but the host got it straightened out for us very quickly. My kids and I had such a great time and we will be back for sure!

Newfield is quaint and relaxed. While we spend plenty of time in the city of Ithaca, we like to enjoy the slower pace of life (and traffic) here and absolutely love the dark skies for stargazing and the endless nature.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

Our property is home to a huge pre-civil-war barn, and old stone wall ruins throughout what is now the forest. There is plenty of history here, but the house is only 15 years old, so you can enjoy modern accommodations while being surrounded by history, nature and wildlife.
