3 bed 2 bath, the Casbah is a classic with high ceilings and wood floors in a quiet neighborhood. You will have easy access to conventions, the River Walk, downtown and the airport. A quick walk to the YMCA gym, bike share, restaurants (from Texas BBQ to vegan), taverns & clubs, and the VIVA Culture Bus that visits all major museums and downtown. The Red Suite has a queen bed and private bath. The Bibliothèque showcases the building's original construction. Salon Blue, the master, is king sized.
Providing sleeping space for up to six, our three bed two bath house is a comfortable retreat for a family or friends looking to explore San Antonio. Salon Blue has windows on three sides and a memory foam king bed. The Red Suite has an en suite private bathroom with full shower/tub. The room originally was intended as the master bedroom. The bed is queen size and has a very comfortable pillow-top mattress. It is also equipped with a chair, side tables, desk, drawer space, ceiling fan and a closet. The living room, kitchen, and dining space are open plan, and spacious. They provide all the amenities of home.

Primary guest must email a Government ID with picture to host.
Check-in time is 4pm. Check-out time is 11am.
This home's plumbing is at risk of freezing in the event of cold weather. If instructed by the host or co-host, guests will leave faucets dripping enough to ensure the pipes do not freeze.
No smoking indoors includes all vape products and recreational pharmaceuticals.
Quiet hours are from 10pm to 7am (hosts and guests), parties are not allowed.
Exterior paint includes lead. Bringing children to the house is not recommended but at parent discretion.
Visitors are not allowed on property, only registered guests.
Ensure all doors and all windows are secure and locked every time you leave the premise.
Ants are attracted to food. If you see ants you need to wipe the surfaces and take out the trash.
Green refuse bin is for food only.
Blue refuse bin is for plastic only. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in forfit of security deposit.
Brown refuse bin is for all other garbage.
Please have respect for our neighbors. They are good people. If you are facing the street, Darcy and Mark live on our left and Mary on our right.

I like the old house appeal very cute.... Although the maintenance on the front and backyard could have been done. The cleaningness of the house needs Improvement. The coffee maker was very dirty and had grounds have been there for a while the refrigerator was not 100% clean. I did like the fact that it was stocked up so you can make something to eat there and yes I would stay there again if the cleaningness is better next time

Unimpressive Lodging

The old fashion furniture was a little surprising; no real dinning table, the laundry room, eventhough attached outside, could have been cleaner. The yard could have been cleaned up. No extra toilet paper nor kitchen paper towels provided. Coffee pot took 2.5 hrs to brew 8 cups of coffee. Main bdtm matttess very uncomfortable. I thought I'd return but now I'm pretty sure I wouldn't.

Super cute house

I loved the Moroccan inspired decor. It actually reminded me of a Tulum eco-hotel. We had a very nice stay.

Scary moldy house.

Me my wife and daughter went to Texas to see our son graduate from the Air Force academy. We arrived late at night and my daughter was scared to stay there and my wife was wheezing from the moldy smell.The next day we went to the Air Force base early in the morning and had to reserve a room in a hotel for the rest of our stay. We were told that we would get a refund and a month later we did but was charge for one night plus cleaning and fees. We took it as a lesson learned and will never use this site again.

Good value

The house is exactly as advertised, and I would certainly book again. Would-be couch potatoes (such as my son) should note that television is not listed in the amenities. Travellers should note that while restaurants and entertainment are within walking distance, I did not find a grocery store nearby. No problem for us, as we had a rental car, which we parked in the driveway-- no need to find on-street parking. The owners have noted that the house may not be suitable for families with small children because of potential lead paint; also note that there is an unsecured wooden screen in the kitchen area---not a worry for adults, but a potential danger to small children.

Our house, the Casbah, is in the Tobin Hill Neighborhood - a neighborhood rich with mixed uses, cultural amenities, and easy access to highlights further afield. Our neighborhood is extremely walkable from homes to offices to a broad variety of third places. It is an older inner city area developed on the northern edge of San Antonio over a period from about 100 to 50 years ago. So, much of the housing and commercial stock reflect that era of construction. We have some households serving some very long-standing families and elders. We also have young families served by one of the best public elementary schools in SA. There are renters and homeowners here representing a broad range of incomes and professions that give our streets great 24/7 observers. Don't come looking for a sleepy bedroom community of street after street of families isolated from their activity centers. With close proximity to two college campuses, our neighborhood experiences the livelihood of lots of young adults and also many people who frequent our local music scene. That said, our house is secluded from most noise and traffic and we enjoy a peaceful atmosphere with the ever-present murmur of an active city in the background. These are some of the neighborhood amenities: Food and drink: 5-star Creole, American, Greek, Mexican, burgers (both grill-fired and 1960-style fast-food), 3 barbecue joints, 4 pizza purveyors, 2 coffee houses, a vegan restaurant, an authentic hot dog joint, Vietnamese, a wine bar with excellent weekend brunch, a micro brewery and about 4 other bars Culture: 7 music venues, second Friday Tobin Hill Art Walk. Trinity University, San Pedro Playhouse and Historical Park, San Antonio College and it's planetarium, Brackenridge Park and Zoo, River Road Community Garden, EcoCentro Education and Demonstration Grounds, the extensive campus of the Pearl Brewery redevelopment Recreation: San Pedro public pool and tennis courts, Joey's pool hall, Dr. Semmes YMCA, and more.

The living room, kitchen, and dining space are open plan, and spacious. They provide all the amenities of home. Our Casbah, is over 100 years-old and has stood the test of time beautifully. It has hardwood floors throughout the living spaces, tile bathrooms, and 10-foot ceilings in all rooms except the kitchen. We have furnished the place with antiques, Indian carved-wood privacy screens, and an assortment of accouterments collected during our travels. Outside we have a front stoop perfect for people-watching and adorned by tall Crepe Myrtles, a bougainvillea arbor, and numerous native sages. Our back deck is shaded by an enormous pecan tree which provides a bountiful harvest each fall. Our 3-season garden may or may not be in production depending on our current travels but the Meyers lemon, persimmon, chives, chili peqin, and Mandarin will persist. The carport next to the garden serves multiple purposes including clotheslines and hammock anchors.
