Drift Inn is tucked away on the peaceful south end of Tybee Island in the desirable Back River area—giving you a quieter coastal setting while still keeping you close to South Beach, restaurants, shops, and island attractions.

One of the best parts of this location is having Tybee’s Back River just steps away. Known for its calmer waters, beautiful marsh views, kayaking, fishing, dolphin sightings, and spectacular sunsets, Back River offers a completely different experience from the busier Atlantic beachfront.

Take an evening stroll toward the water to catch the sunset, spend the day exploring by kayak or paddleboard, or head over to South Beach when you’re ready for the classic Tybee experience. The South Beach area is home to the Tybee Pier & Pavilion along with a lively collection of restaurants, bars, beach shops, and access to the Atlantic Ocean.

Tybee is easy to explore by bike or golf cart, so you can spend your vacation discovering local seafood spots, colorful island neighborhoods, beaches, and landmarks at your own pace.

Whether you’re looking for peaceful mornings by the water, afternoons at the beach, or evenings watching the sun set over Back River, Drift Inn puts you in a fantastic location to experience both the relaxed and lively sides of Tybee Island.



Guest Access

You’ll have the entire cottage to yourself, including the backyard, patio, and parking for up to 3 cars (plus additional street parking if needed).
Self check-in with a smart lock makes arrival smooth and stress-free, no matter what time you arrive.

Spend the day at the beach, rinse off outside when you return, fire up the grill, and end the evening relaxing around the fire pit. You’ll also be within easy reach of Tybee’s restaurants, shops, and island attractions.

## Transit

Getting around Tybee Island is easy, and Drift Inn’s south-end location puts you close to beaches, restaurants, shops, and many of the island’s favorite spots.

Tybee is a compact island and is especially fun to explore by bike or golf cart. Bike and golf cart rentals are available locally, making it easy to leave the car at the cottage and enjoy the island at a more relaxed pace.

Walking is also a great option for exploring the surrounding South End and Back River areas.

If you prefer not to drive, local taxi and shuttle services operate around Tybee and can also provide transportation between the island and Savannah.

Drift Inn includes parking for up to 3 vehicles at the property. Please keep in mind that most public parking around Tybee Island is paid, so biking, walking, or using a golf cart can be a convenient option during your stay.
