Topolovec historic Istrian rustic villa on the hilltop of Slovenia coast

Villa Topolovec is a unique and beautiful villa, located in the hill top village of Topolovec in the coastal region of Slovenia. This 1898 stone Istrian home was fully renovated and provides a unique experience of modern comfort with a rustic decor surrounded by beautiful countryside. Ideal for cyclists! Perfect for hiking, picturesque drives, walking or as a base to experience nearby coastal old towns of Slovenia, Italy and Croatia!

Villa Topolovec is a Mediterranian villa complex of three beautiful houses. The guests are invited to stay in one of the houses (the other ones will be closed during holiday season!) and you will enjoy the full privacy of a beautiful courtyard with a pool! The house is situated in the middle of a very small picturesque village on top of the hill.

The renovation is done to the highest standards providing a comfort of a modern home. Living areas are very spacious with air-conditioning in each room, fully equipped Italian kitchen and dining area. In the living room is a fireplace, perfect for cooler nights, TV and a large DVD collection provided for your entertainment. The Master bedroom is very grand and beautiful, the 2nd bedroom is smaller but cozy. Both bedrooms have en-suit bathrooms. An extra sleeping space is a sofa-bed downstairs with an access to a 3rd bathroom. The washing machine and dryer are conveniently located in a separate technical room.

The private stone courtyard is very spacious, with a pool, wooden deck, several outside sitting areas and grill.

This property is managed directly by owners. We will try to provide all the necessary help, and to make you feel at home during your stay in Topolovec!

Dogs are welcome! The countryside surrounding the village is ideal for long walks with a dog.

Wonderful holiday

This place is beautiful and peaceful with gorgeous views from the main upstairs bedroom and outside in the village where you can see across the valley and to the sea. We watched some amazing sunsets and some incredible thunder storms in the evening. There are loads of cycle and footpaths across the countryside from the house. The only downside for us is that it really is remote and quite a way to any shops so you need to be prepared for that. There is a restaurant 10 minutes walk away which we loved. It's a very simple set menu and only open Sat and Sun, but so friendly, lovely views and the food was fantastic.

Holiday

The villa was perfect and every bit as good as the pictures. It was huge inside and finished to a very high standard. The pool and terrace were lovely and we enjoyed the added bonus of ripe figs from the tree. The surrounding area is very beautiful - the village itself is quite remote and you will need a car for this property. Proximity to Italy and Croatia was an added bonus for day trips.

Very Nice and Quiet

We stayed with the family (2 adults, 3 kids). The house was nice and tidy, well renovated. We went in summer holiday. The village is very quiet with very few people living there. Cities like Koper or even Trieste are close by still. Rooms have airco which we briefly used at end of day to cool down the rooms before going to bed. The courtyard is cozy and pleasant to have breakfast/dinner outside. In summary we were very pleased and enjoyed our stay.

Very nice place

We really enjoyed our stay at the house. It is a very quiet and lovely place, in the middle of nowhere as we expected it to be. Absolutely magnificent view from the 1st floor, you could even see the Adria.

Sehr schönes, geräumiges Haus, geschmackvolle, hochwertige Einrichtung (insbesondre die 3 Bäder) mit einem großen sauberen Pool - perfekt für Teenager, gute Betreuung durch die Gastgeberin. Das Haus liegt sehr abgeschieden in der puren Natur. Ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Radtouren und Wanderungen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Schönes Anwesen in ruhiger Lage

Unser Familienaufenthalt war sehr schön dort. Der Pool war um diese Jahreszeit noch ein bisschen frisch, aber das hat uns nicht davon abgehalten ihn ausgiebig zu nutzen. Das von einer Steinmauer eingefasste Grundstück war ideal für unseren Hund. Für Einkäufe und Unternehmung muss man aber immer ca. eine halbe Stunde Fahrt (+ halbe Stunde Rückfahrt) in Kauf nehmen. Das Dorf Topolovec ist nämlich sehr klein und bietet keine Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Es ist daher sehr ruhig und beschaulich dort. In unmittelbarer Umgebung liegen zwei kleine schöne Wasserfälle (kurze Wanderungen). Die Städte Koper, Izola und Piran sind auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert, genauso wie die Mondbucht (Naturstrand). Auch Triest liegt nicht weit entfernt und lohnt einen Besuch. Das Restaurant Gostilna Mohoreč ist ebenfalls einen Besuch wert (Familienbetrieb mit einheimischen Gerichten). Lediglich der Handyempfang und das Wlan lassen ein bisschen zu wünschen übrig. Das hat uns aber nicht wirklich gestört.

Traumhaftes Ferienhaus

Das Ferienhaus liegt abseits des Touristenrummels in einem kleinen Dorf am Berg, absolut ruhig. Es ist ein altes Anwesen, das sehr schön restauriert und eingerichtet wurde. Die Ausstattung ist hervorragend. Der Pool im Innenhof und die vielen Sitzmöglichkeiten sind traumhaft, unsere Kinder haben den Pool rege genutzt. Auch wenn man etwas abgelegen wohnt, so war es für uns doch der optimale Ausgangspunkt, um die Küstenstädte und andere Sehenswürdigkeiten (z.B. die Postojna-Höhle) zu erkunden und anschließend wieder für sich zu sein. Ein gutes Restaurant ist ca. 1km entfernt.

Traumhaftes Urlaubsdomizil

Wir waren mit 4 Kindern für 2 Wochen an diesem wunderschönen Ort. Wir haben die Zeit in vollen Zügen genossen. Das Anwesen haben wir wie auf den eingestellten Fotos vorgefunden - mit Liebe zum Detail, ein geschmackvoll renoviertes und liebevoll eingerichtetes Domizil. An den heißen Tagen waren Pool und klimatisierte Schlaf-/Wohnräume eine Wohltat. Im Innenhof bzw. auf der Terrasse findet sich eigentlich immer ein Schattenplätzchen. Mit der gut eingerichteten Küche (inkl. Spülmaschine, großem Kühl-/Gefrierschrank) ist man verpflegungstechnisch autark. Das Dorf ist völlig ruhig gelegen (praktisch kein Verkehr - da Sackgassenstraße) - mit traumhaftem Blick über die Hügellandschaft bis zum Meer. Für uns das perfekte Urlaubsquartier. Während unseres Aufenthaltes tummelten sich ziemlich viele Wespen im Innenhof (extreme Trockenheit auf den Feldern...) - diese waren vor allem zu den Outdoor-Mahlzeiten lästig und könnten für Allergiker und Gäste mit kleinen Kindern problematisch sein...

Amazing holliday home

We had a great time in this house in Topolovec. Location is supererb. In a very little collage with only 3 houses. The property had a wall around it, so you don’t have any problemen of the winds. Pool is also very nice and private. Roads to the coast and beaches are marvelous and will take you about 45 minutes. The house is decorated like a castle, big rooms with bathrooms in every bedroom. Our kids loved to stay here, was the best spot of our holliday. Thanks a lot! We will surely come back some time.

Traumvilla in ruhiger und erholsamer Lage

Wir waren eine Woche mit vier Personen und unserer Schäferhündin Zenzi in dieser Traumvilla mit schönem Pool. Das ruhige Areal war nur für uns da! Alles was wir für einen tollen Urlaub brauchten, ist in der Villa vorhanden. Wir haben in der tollen Küche gekocht, im Freien mit dem Weber-Grill Fleisch gegrillt und im Innenhof gegessen. Die Villa ist genau so schön wie auf den Bildern ersichtlich ist. Die Besitzer Anna und Mike waren megafreundlich und haben auf unsere Fragen und Wünsche bestens und umgehend reagiert. Das nächste Lokal mit leckerem Trüffelessen ist 1km entfernt. Wir haben dort 2,5 Stunden ein Menü genossen. Der nächste kleine Supermarkt liegt mit dem Auto 20 min entfernt. Die großen Supermärkte finden sich z.B. in der Küstenstadt Koper. Wir haben Ausflüge nach Triest, Koper, Piran, auf den 1028m hohen Berg Slavnik mit 360 Grad Ausblick und in die gigantischen Höhlen von Postojna unternommen. Spätnachmittags haben wir unseren Pool und abends die herrlichen Sonnenuntergänge genoßen. Eine Traumvilla, die wir uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen können! Wunderschön renovierte Anlage nach Art eines istrischen Gutshofs, in sich geschlossen, mit Pool für heisse Tage. Weitsicht bis an die Adria. Trotz der scheinbar isolierten Lage sind viele Sehenswürdigkeiten innert 30-45 min erreichbar (Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Restaurants, Karstgebiet, Küste, Skocjan-Höhlen, Lipizza, kroatisches Höhenstädte wie Groznjan und Montovur).

wonderful isolation :)

Villa Topolovec is located on a beautiful hill approx. 40 min away from any "civilization". The environment is fantastic and the nature impressive. The house is perfect and a perfect retreat to relax and recharge batteries. The owners are very nice and supportive but manly from remote, of course. Logistics needs to be planned as you cannot buy something to eat in case you have forgotten it. If such an environment is what you are looking for Topolovec is the ideal place to be. We loved it!!

Anna und Mike sind die besten Gastgeber 👍von der Buchung, Abwicklung, Übergabe.. Die liebevolle Ankunft, das Objekt.. Perfekt!!!! Deadly silence.. Ein Traum..Wir hatten noch nie so eine schöne Unterkunft und so tolle Gastgeber.. Das einzige was zu bemängeln war, betrifft aber nicht unsere Gastgeber, die Wanderwege sind schlecht ausgezeichnet. Da hatten wir Glück dass wir durch Zufall wieder heimgefunden haben🙈Gesamtpaket ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Traumhaft schön

Unsere Erwartungen an das Objekt wurden übertroffen! Eine sehr saubere, hochwertig und liebevoll eingerichtete Villa in einem kleinen verschlafenen Örtchen mit 3-4 bewohnten Häusern und romantischen Ruinen bot uns Erholung vom Großstadttrubel. Wir haben das schöne historische Ambiente und die Privatsphäre sehr genossen. In der Umgebung gab es wunderbare kleine Wanderziele (z. B. historische Kirche Sv. Hieronim, sv. Zenona), ideal für Kinder. Sofern man sie aus dem Pool bekommt! Ein kleiner Tipp: man sollte unterwegs nach Topolovec in einer größeren Stadt einkaufen oder ein Proviant mitbringen. Ansonsten ist die Küche so gut ausgestattet, dass man sogar notfalls etwas kleines zum Essen zaubern kann. Traumhaft schöne und sehr gut ausgestattete Unterkunft, herzliche Gastgeber und tolle Umgebung!

Wunderschön

Wir haben unseren Urlaub hier sehr genossen. Wunderschöne Umgebung, sehr ruhig, (nur 2 oder 3 bewohnte Häuser im Dorf) und ein tolles Haus. Vom Vermieter her war alles perfekt ausgerüstet,auch Kaffee und Tee war da und als Gastgeschenk gab es Marmelade und Wein. Übergabe total unkompliziert. Einziger Nachteil war für uns, dass es keinen Bäcker oder Minisupermarkt vor Ort gab, da musste man schon eine viertel Stunde mit dem Auto fahren, da gabs dann einen kleinen Minimarkt.

Even Better Than Described

We had an excellent stay here in the midsts of the COVID pandemic. On a trip from our home in Italy, our family of 5 and our two dogs relaxed by the pool for 5 days in August. The village is tiny and just isolated enough to provide us with remote vacation we were wanting. The owners provided excellent service and were quick to reach when a freak storm caused the breaker to flip. This is a 5 star vacation villa that has been superbly renovated, while still keeping the original feel of the home. Our kids felt like they were in a castle and I certainly understood why! The furniture and fixtures are high quality and not your typical IKEA or 2nd hand furnishings found in many vacation rentals. We will stay here again! Thank you Anna and Mike!
