Escape to Stay Foxy Cottage, a cozy 1930s cabin where historic charm meets modern comfort in Highlands, NC. Stay Foxy Cottage is perfectly situated in the desirable Mirror Lake neighborhood. You are just minutes from the best the area has to offer, with easy access to scenic trails, beautiful waterfalls, and the shops and restaurants of downtown—Main Street is less than a mile away! Our recently restored cottage offers a private and relaxing retreat. The welcoming living room invites you to unwind by the stone fireplace. Prepare your morning coffee and delicious meals in the gourmet kitchen, fully equipped with high-end appliances. The cottage features three cozy bedrooms, each with its own unique decor and room-darkening shades to ensure a restful night's sleep. Two modern, tidy bathrooms offer refreshing walk-in showers. Step outside to your private outdoor oasis. Sip your morning coffee on the covered porch from the comfort of a twin-sized swing bed, or gather with loved ones around the stone fire pit in the evening. The home is equipped with modern conveniences including Wi-Fi and air conditioning for your comfort. For extra fun, a game room and a laundry room are also available for your use. You will have private access to the entire home and its beautiful grounds. The only exception is a locked utility room adjacent to the laundry and game rooms, which is reserved for maintenance. Mirror Lake Neighborhood – Highlands, NC Nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Mirror Lake is one of Highlands’ most coveted residential areas—offering a serene blend of natural beauty, mountain charm, and walkable convenience. Scenic & Peaceful Setting The neighborhood wraps around the tranquil Mirror Lake, a private body of water perfect for canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. Many homes boast lakefront views or wooded lots, creating a peaceful retreat-like atmosphere. Residents enjoy the soothing sounds of waterfalls, including the Mirror Lake dam cascade, which adds to the area's rustic elegance. Location & Lifestyle Just minutes from downtown Highlands, residents can walk or bike to Main Street’s boutique shops, gourmet restaurants, art galleries, and seasonal events. The area is surrounded by hiking trails, waterfalls, and scenic overlooks, making it a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. We have parking on-site for two medium sized cars. Many of our Highlands roads are windy, so keep this in mind when planning your visit here. Large cars, like Suburbans, may have some difficulty navigating the smaller roads. Highlands doesn't have reliable driving app service - please ask and I will provide you with several private car service options. We are located less than a mile from the heart of Main Street, but walking on the main highways is not recommended. Important Information Please note, the game and laundry rooms are located in the finished, above-ground 'basement' of the cottage. Headroom in this area is limited, which may be a consideration for our very tall guests. As this is a mountain property, the cottage is not recommended for any guests with physical limitations on climbing stairs, maneuvering over sloped surfaces.

As frequent visitors to Highlands, we have now found the most perfect cottage for a warm, relaxing stay! Stay Foxy was exceptionally clean, organized, thoughtfully decorated, and well-stocked with high quality furniture, bedding and bath, and kitchen and dining necessities. The showers were wonderful and the beds comfortable. We especially enjoyed the numerous and varied outdoor seating options to include two types of swings, multiple rockers, and numerous Adirondack chairs and loungers. The fire pit offered an intimate place to savor a glass of wine in the late, crisp autumn afternoon surrounded by autumn foliage. The cottage was equipped with varied board games, puzzles, and an electronic arcade. The location was perfect- so close to downtown for dining, shopping, and other activities, yet also easy to set out on a waterfall drive. The host was efficient and prompt during the booking process. The cottage shows that she has thought of everything to offer her guests an enjoyable stay. Stay Foxy is just the perfect and idyllic cottage in this beautiful area! We look forward to a return visit!
