Aloha! We renovated this old-style Hawaiian home so that it will have the charm of old Hawaii with modern conveniences.

It is a great retreat for a maximum of 2 easy-going, nonsmoking adults (25 years and older only).
This garden oasis (we've planted over 3,000 trees and plants) is in the most awesome location - you are 100 steps from Kailua Beach where you will find 2.5-miles of its famous soft white-sand and turquoise water - - often rated in the top 10 most beautiful beaches in the world. Beach walk, swim, kayak, wind-surf, kite board, body surf, snorkel, hike, walk/jog the Lanikai loop - there is an abundance of fun activities here...or, completely relax and chill out which is very easy in this quiet & secluded bungalow on the 1st level of a 2-story home.

The Enchanting Bungalow is decorated with upscale furnishings, original art and collectables from around the world. You will have your own private entrance, private yard & garden - filled with fragrant flowers - gardenias, plumerias, white ginger, night-blooming jasmine, and more...there are over 300 varieties of plants on the property.

A/C in main living area and bedroom
Large screened-in lanai/'martini bar'
Living room & dining room
Fully-equipped kitchen with a refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster oven, etc.

To be good neighbors, we ask that our guests have no more than 2 additional guests on the property.

The property will be made exclusively available to the renter for a full period of 30-days and no one else may occupy the property during that period. The 30-day rental period will be communicated to guest upon booking.

The most beautiful combination of beach and restful, peaceful...gardens I've ever experienced!

The property and the owners Cheri and Scott, couldn't have been more accomodating. From the peaceful gardens to the beautiful beach, only a few steps from the property, our experience was delightful! We will be returning.

Wonderful stay in Kailua

We had such a wonderful time returning to this beautifully decorated and comfortable home on Kailua beach. It is perfectly located, just a short walk into Kailua town, next door to the Kalapawai Market, and steps to the beach. The landscaping is beautiful and immersive. This is a great spot for a quiet retreat in paradise!

Perfect for total relaxation

The property was beyond our expectations. The location was ideal - just a short walking distance from the beach, the decor exquisite with furnishings from Bali and Cheri and Scott the most hospitable hosts we have ever encountered. What more can we say?!

Great beach access and birding site

This is a fabulous place to stay. The beach is right outside of the property but is closed after 7 p.m., so no unwanted noise in the evening. We enjoyed being able to see a large variety of birds come to our private courtyard each day. The apartment is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We found our hosts very responsive to meeting our needs. We will definitely return for another visit.

Absolute Paradise

Scott and Cheri's Beach Bungalow was clean, private, relaxing and wonderful. We stayed a month here in Kailua, enjoyed the beach daily (a mere 100 feet or so away), walked to town for groceries, road the local bus to Honolulu, North Shore, Diamond Head and beyond. The property was well stocked, quiet and comfortable. The private garden was beautiful and bird watching at the fountain was a daily enjoyment. Cheri and Scott were fantastic hosts and we enjoyed getting know them! Thank you!

Wow!

This place is astounding. We spent mornings in the garden with our coffee while enjoying the fishpond, birds, cats, and flowers; days on the beach and in the ocean; and evenings again in the garden having drinks and enjoying the stars above and the delightful sounds of the fountains. We explored less of the rest of the island than we’d intended because hanging out in Kailua at this fabulous property was so much better than we could have imagined. Thanks to Cheri and Scott for providing such a wonderfully relaxing oasis for our vacation!

A wonderful time away from home, staying safe on a beautiful place.

During a pandemic we took the measures necessary to travel safely. Is truly a house in Paradise! We spent most of our time at home and at the beach, they have a perfect location for a staycation where we can enjoy nature and remain isolated if we want. A few steps from Kailua beach, a great garden where we spent our evenings relaxing, drinking wine and barbecuing. The hosts are very thoughtful and caring! I definitely recommend!

Wonderful stay in a gorgeous place

We had an amazing visit to Hawaii while staying here in Kailua. The place is fantastic with great amenities and easy beach access! We really couldn’t have picked a better place to stay, everything was wonderful!! Highly recommended.

Most relaxing vacation ever...

When we booked this rental, I was not sure what to expect, because it is literally steps away from Kailua Beach, which can be a very busy area. Once we drove down the beautiful lane and saw the yard that was surrounding this rental, we knew we were in the right place. It is literally a small botanical garden. Cherie and Scott have done a beautiful job on the surroundings to promote beauty and privacy. On entering the rental, we were amazed at the furnishings and the art work and the views that were created from every window. We usually travel quite a bit when we are in Hawaii, going to different parts of the island. We spent 2 weeks here and did not go any further than Honolulu, Waimanalo and Ewa (to watch our daughter play college soccer). We mostly walked and swam at Kailua beach, snorkeled at Lanakai and tried out restaurant suggestions from Cherie and Scott. The indoor lanai and the yard were so delightful and peaceful that we spent more time at "home" than we usually do. Therefore we came away very relaxed and refreshed from this vacation. This is our 6th time to Oahu but a new favorite place we visited was the Lyons arboretum, 200 acres behind the U of Hawaii at Manoa. Lots of hikes and beautiful scenery. Went to several vegetarian restuarants and our favorite in Kailua was Beet Box and favorite in Honolulu was The Peace Café. Oh, and did I mention, Cherie and Scott were so friendly and helpful. Their thoughtfulness and creativity has created a very special place. We are grateful to have shared it for 2 weeks. Mahalo. Hope to return soon. Chris and Tom

Perfect Property and Hosts!

My wife and I stayed 10 days. Scott and Cheri are excellent hosts who made for a great trip, providing local insight and advice for restaurants and activities. Their home is even more incredible than the pictures show. The garden property is astonishing, the bungalow is clean with a Hawaiian feel, and the location could not get any better (Kalapawai Market right next door, walk out to Kailua beach, walking distance to Lanikai beach and multiple restaurants/shops, a very short drive to downtown Kailua, and an easy drive to virtually anywhere on the island by avoiding Honolulu/Waikiki traffic). Do yourself a favor and stay here. Thank you again, Scott and Cheri!

Best Place on Oahu

Cheri and Scott's unit has a wonderful amount of living space with a great kitchen and lanai. Lots of privacy is present and they are great and friendly hosts. Fabulous beach access in Kailua and this is our favorite place to stay in Hawaii. Second time with them and we will be visiting again.

Absolutely Breathtaking

Our experience could not have been better or more special. Cheri and Scott are amazing hosts and have created a paradise both comfortable and incredibly special. Location can not be beat for the Windward side both for access to town and the beach mere steps away. The grounds are so special and meticulous. Cannot recommend highly enough!!

Absolute Paradise

If you are looking for the Hawaii you always imagined, this is the place to stay. Cheri and Scott have created a little slice of heaven just a few steps from the most beautiful beach we have ever seen. The gardens surrounding the home capture you from the moment you open the gate. No, I take that back...you are captured from the moment you turn off the street into the beautiful driveway into the property. It obvious that they special attention to detail not only in the stunning garden, but in the home as well. The kitchen was equipped with anything you could possibly need as well as the spacious bathroom. Air condition units worked great when we wanted to be cool at night. We enjoyed our morning coffee and evening wine on the loungers in the garden as well as the beautiful screened in porch. Bed was one of the most comfortable we have ever slept on and loved having a walk- in closet. The location in Kailua is great. We were only minutes away from vegetarian dining as well as organic grocery stores. A big plus for us was lots of places to get our daily runs in and a great little market/coffee shop/deli right next door. The icing on the cake was Cheri and Scott are the nicest people you could ever meet and were always so responsive. Whenever we return to Oahu, which I hope is soon, we won't even look anywhere else. I can't imagine how it could get any better than this.

Your own little paradise on a beautiful island

This VRBO was truly the prettiest rental we’ve ever stayed in. Not only were we surrounded by beautiful botanical gardens, but the inside of the rental was beautiful as well. The owners were beyond hospitable and truly embraced the feeling of Aloha. The location of this place in Kailua was spectacular. It’s located right next to a fantastic market and merely steps away from the beach. We would highly recommend staying here and would love to stay here again during future travels.

Tranquillity found!

What a quiet, serene place to unwind and relax. It doesn’t get any better. We’ve been visiting Kailua,Hawai’i every year since 1968. This place is the best. We booked our return visit before leaving for home. We never did that in the past. Mahalo Cheri and Scott for your heartfelt Aloha.

Beautiful, Relaxing location, must stay again!

Cheri and Scott are gratious hosts who leave no detail to chance. Their property is gorgeous and the bungalow is uniquely appointed throughout. We were able to rest, relax and it was 10 to 15 steps to the beach from the gate in the back yard. You will be blown away at arrival when you make your way down their front drive, nothing short of a magical entrance to paradise. If you are a kiteboarder buckle your seatbelt for one of the best spots on earth and a property that provides a wonderful outside shower within the lush, gated private backyard. We will be back! Beautiful and private

Great location on the beach! Convenient to water sports, small market and town with several restaurants and grocery stores. Enjoyed the tropical garden, walking on the beach, swimming, and the amazing sunrises. Cottage is well equipped, clean, and decorated in a stylish tropical theme. The resident hosts are very kind and helpful with many useful suggestions for activities and restaurants. We have stayed at other rentals in the area and this one stands out as the best!

Discerning in its presentation!!

We stayed at the Kailua Beach Bungalow and from the instant of our arrival until our departure it has been like a dream!! After a flight from New Zealand I decided not to get a rental car until the next day (driving on the opposite side of the road etc. etc.) so we caught the bus (not easy and not always accepted on buses with luggage) and was a "tad" bedraggled on arrival - like a mirage the delightful owners Scott and Cheri walked along the road to meet us with 2 large glasses of coconut water, dripping with moisture and ice cold - At that very moment I knew our stay was going to be spectacular and it has been. The gracious owners live on sight yet totally respect your right to privacy yet are only a couple of seconds away if needed. I own a short term accommodation business so I know what is needed to make guests feel at home and comfortable - Scott and Cheri's presentation and execution of details are spot on. The accommodation is set in an acre of unbelievable tropical foliage beyond anything you may have experienced and as a guest you can sit and enjoy all day long. If you are discerning in how you live and require an accommodation that compliments that then Kailua Beach Bungalow will meet those needs. Access to the beach is RIGHT there via a gate with a digital lock - Kailua town is walkable . If you are looking for a private, secluded, no noise, relaxing, healing, soft space then Kailua Beach Bungalow will be the place.
