Glamping dome w/fire pit & BBQ on private deck
Summary:
Experience Orion, a cozy glamping dome nestled in 35 wooded acres of West Virginia mountains.
Sleeps 4 | 1 bedroom | 2 beds | 1 bath
King bed on main level, queen loft bed with sky‑view windows
Private deck w/ fire pit & BBQ grill for outdoor evenings
Indoor bathroom, full kitchen & dining area, heating & AC
WiFi, TV & sound system for cozy nights; free on‑site parking
Panoramic windows for stargazing; sound machine for restful sleep
The Space:
The night sky opens above the dome, constellations spilling across the dark like scattered lanterns. A gentle breeze carries the scent of pine as you step onto the private deck, the fire pit’s glow flickering against the wooded hills. Inside, the dome’s curved walls frame the mountains, inviting you to unwind after a day on the trails. Winter’s hush settles over the landscape, turning each breath into a quiet moment of stillness.
Sleeping arrangements
The loft‑style dome sleeps up to four guests. A king bed rests on the main level, while a queen loft bed sits above, positioned for night‑sky views through expansive windows. A staircase leads to the loft, making the space best suited for guests comfortable with a multi‑level interior.
Interior comforts
Heating keeps the dome cozy during colder months, and air conditioning is available when temperatures rise. WiFi supports streaming and remote work, and a TV with a sound system offers relaxed evenings indoors. The full indoor bathroom includes a shower and bathroom essentials, and a sound machine helps ensure restful nights.
Kitchen & dining
A compact kitchen lets you brew coffee in the morning and prepare simple meals for dinner. A dining table provides space for meals, board games, or planning the next day’s adventure.
Outdoor living
Your private deck extends the living area outdoors. A fire pit becomes a natural gathering spot for s’mores and conversation, while a BBQ grill lets you cook under the open sky. Outdoor seating lets you linger as the sun sets behind the hills.
Setting & property notes
Orion sits on 35 wooded acres at one of the highest points of a private retreat in Wardensville, West Virginia. Free parking is available on the premises. The property includes one additional dome about 100 feet away and a yurt over 400 feet away, so you may see other guests, but your dome retains its own deck and fire pit for a sense of separation. A state route to the north can bring occasional road noise, especially in winter, and a sound machine is provided to aid sleep.
Area highlights
A short drive leads to hiking trails, fishing spots, and Lost River State Park. Nearby small towns offer cafés, restaurants, and local shops for relaxed afternoons before returning to the dome’s warmth.
Winter travel considerations
Snow or icy conditions may require four‑wheel drive or tire chains, and travel insurance is recommended during winter months. The host does not offer refunds for road conditions beyond their control.

Sobre o anfitrião
Anfitrião: Tony Cappaert
I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.
Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade
We spent years searching for the perfect getaway, and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and this cabin in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
