One of the best VRBOs we’ve ever stayed at. Everything was perfect for our family and 2 small children. They loved the play area in the house and the swim spa. Would absolutely stay here again when in the area. The Hosts are nothing short of amazing when it comes to communication as well.

Brooke and her family were wonderful guests! They took excellent care of the Magical Mountain View Retreat, treated the swim spa with respect, followed the house rules, and left the home spotless. We were so happy they were able to enjoy the beautiful mountain views and spend quality time together making special family memories. It was a pleasure hosting them, and we hope they truly felt the magic during their stay. We highly recommend Brooke and her family to any future host. I’ll keep it succinct to the point………THIS HOME IS AN ABSOLUTE STEAL!! Immaculately clean, impeccable attention to detail, cozy, comfortable, classy and quaint. Best staycation ever! My teenage girls and I needed a place to stay for our Mudrun. What a gem this home was! Everything was so well thought out, organized, clean, and with all the cute finishing touches. Melanie kindly put a hose out back so we could clean off our muddy shoes and apparel. The swim spa was such a nice way to relax in the evening and honestly the setting and view might have been my favorite - so quiet and beautiful. My girls loved lounging around in the robes and we all felt like this was a special retreat! Melanie was easy to communicate with and always so kind and thoughtful. Perfect place for 3 couples to split or a family of 6 to stay. We’d stay here again for sure! Thank you for helping us create long lasting memories!

This property was an amazing stay!! We had such a great time, and the hosts were awesome! They provided everything you could need and more. Plenty of entertainment within the home, and plenty of suggestions for outside as well. So peaceful and such a cool view from the back of the property. The host reached out before and during the stay making sure we had all the information we needed, and were so kind as well! LOVED the swim/spa as well (maybe our favorite part) I would highly recommend this property to anyone and everyone looking to stay in this area, and you bet we will be coming back soon! Without a doubt easy 5 star.

We had an amazing stay at Magical Mountain View Retreat. The place was clean, cozy, and exactly as described. The private backyard was a highlight, and the swim spa hot tub was perfect for relaxing and unwinding. The views were beautiful and made the stay feel very peaceful and romantic. Everything was well-maintained, and the space had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The host was responsive and helpful, and check-in was smooth and easy. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet, romantic getaway.

This is an astonishingly nice place. The property description doesn’t do it justice. I’ve never seen a VRBO so well equipped and stocked. The Mountain View is breathtaking especially at sunrise and sunset. The beds and bedding were good quality. The decor was modern and the furnishings were comfortable. The huge “swimming” spa was a real hit and it had a Mountain View. The two fire pits were a nice extra comfort. I’ll for sure come and again. Lastly, Melanie is a thoughtful and prompt proprietor. Melanie was amazing, her house was beautiful. Decorated perfectly. The spa and fire pits were fabulous options. Spent valentines with my wife and had a wonderful time. OH MY! Such an amazing place! This VRBO sets a new standard for any place I’ll ever want to stay. First off they had everything we needed, including ziplock bags, first aid kits, even binoculars for bird watching, and toys/playroom for those with kids. (Not to mention every cooking supply you couldPossibly think of.) Second they take the time to make each visit personal. When we got there, they had a handwritten note for us congratulating us for our wedding, (This is our honeymoon)! Then they’ve got a guest book and a map to place pins from where you’re from! Lastly, just the kindness from texting back and forth was unmatched. This isn’t just an owned and operated VRBO that feels like you’re just another guest, this is an actual home with love, so nicely decorated, so clean, and so refreshing. Both me and my wife loved it, and even mentioned wishing we could live there exactly as they had it decorated! PS on a side note, my wife and I live very clean lives, so having clean soaps and shampoos was also a huge plus!

A True Hidden Gem — The Perfect Escape Without Leaving the City BehindIf you're looking for a getaway that feels worlds away but stays close to everything, this is it. Tucked at the end of a quiet subdivision and bordering a waterfowl refuge, this home delivered something rare — genuine peace and privacy without a long drive.The mountain views were spectacular, and waking up to nothing but nature on the refuge side made it easy to forget we were in a subdivision at all. Once inside, the outside world simply disappeared.The home itself was immaculate. Truly one of the cleanest rentals we have ever stayed in. Everything was comfortable, thoughtfully appointed, and felt like a home — not a rental. My wife is still talking about the rugs.For us, the combination of quiet surroundings, beautiful views, and a spotless comfortable space made this one of the best rental experiences we have ever had. If you're a couple or family looking for a peaceful retreat that doesn't require a long commute back to the city, stop looking. This is your place.We will absolutely be back.

This place was great! We were in town for a family runion with activities in Spanish Fork and also Payson. The location was perfect for our activities. The home was very clean and everything was brand new.

We really loved our stay with Melanie! The house was welcoming with music playing as we entered, there were treats waiting for us, and the instructions for check in and out were clear and easy to follow. The area was amazing with easy access to everywhere we wanted to go and the views were beautiful. We were impressed with the constant communication that left nothing to be desired. We have already recommended this place to our friends!

Welcome! I’m Melanie. My love of hospitality began in 1989, when we opened a bed-and-breakfast. I grew up on a ranch in Hanna, Utah, served a mission in Japan, attended BYU, and raised four wonderful children. We also welcomed nine others into our home, whom we consider our own. They all played a role in our love of hospitality.

Our beautiful Escalante Bed and Breakfast was an old home built in 1890 that we lovingly remodeled. We treasure that time with our bed and breakfast guests. In the evening, we would enjoy homemade cookies and milk, while sharing stories and getting to know them. In the mornings, Our little girls, Angela and Sara, served breakfast to our guests while serenading them on the karaoke machine. Those are some of our most treasured memories.

In 2023, my son and I remodeled and opened the Riverside Airbnb—a private oasis with the Spanish Fork River running through the backyard, also providing a charming log cabin, fire pit and a relaxing hot tub for our guests to enjoy .

Today, my daughters, Angela and Sara, the same two little girls who serenaded our guest at the bed-and-breakfast, join me in hosting the Magical Mountain View Retreat in beautiful Salem, Utah. Together, we have thoughtfully curated a peaceful and comfortable retreat featuring a Bullfrog swim spa/hot tub, fire pits, comfortable outdoor seating areas, and cozy indoor living spaces with all the amenities needed to feel like a home away from home.

Our very favorite part of hosting is making new, forever friends from all over the world. We genuinely love welcoming our guests and are available whenever you need us. Our hope is that you arrive as guests and leave feeling like friends.

We chose this property for its breathtaking mountain views—peaceful and serene during the day, then beautifully illuminated by sparkling city lights at night. The backyard borders a protected bird refuge, ensuring that no future buildings will obstruct the scenery. This rare setting offers guests lasting privacy, open views, abundant wildlife, and a quiet atmosphere to enjoy throughout their stay.

The backyard also sits next to Salem Park, where walking, running, and biking trails lead to a spacious pavilion with parking, drinking fountains, and restrooms. Children will love the large playground, while the open fields provide plenty of space for soccer, kickball, flag football, Frisbee, volleyball, and other outdoor activities. We also provide outdoor game equipment for guests to enjoy.

The retreat is conveniently located near the Spanish Fork Recreation Center, which features exercise facilities and outdoor water slides. It is also close to the Spanish Fork Fairgrounds and the famous Dugout Cinnamon Rolls. Stores, restaurants, entertainment, and other attractions in both Spanish Fork and Salem are just minutes away.
