Enjoy your stay at our spacious three bedroom three full bath cabin, tucked away on a 1 acre wooded lot, with wonderful lake views and very clear water. The beautifully designed cabin has over 330ft. of gently sloping white sand beach, magnificent rock walls, covered pier, floating pier, and huge screened patio with exposed wood beam ceilings. There is an additional unscreened open air covered deck to enjoy for sunning or outdoor dining. The screened deck offers plenty of space to enjoy outside dining and comfortable seating while sitting under ceiling fans. The private covered pier offers a cool place out of the sun, where you can fish for bass, catfish, stripers, or crappie. There are two porch swings on the pier to provide comfortable seating and a spot to relax.

Our three bedrooms (one king, one queen, and two twins) are spacious, each with a private bathroom and wonderful lake or forest views. Easy access throughout the cabin is provided by: a ramp to the front door, lever handles on all interior doors, tile / hardwood floors, lift chair, and extra wide doors. The open floor plan consists of: a 20’ x 35’. living and dining area, 55" DISH satellite TV, and board games. The great room adjoins the open kitchen to form a large gathering area, with beautiful views of the lake and grounds. The kitchen features electric appliances with granite countertops. The kitchen is stocked with all cooking utensils. There is plenty of seating to accommodate dining either indoors or outdoors. Don't forget to bring marshmallows or the fixings for s'mores. The firepit is a great place to toast marshmallows, tell stories, or sing songs. A private sandy gently sloping beach into clear water makes it perfect for young and old alike.

We are conveniently located on the south side of the lake and are within 10 minutes of Catherine's Market, Kowaliga Restaurant, Anchor Bay Marina, Kowaliga Marina, Fanny Goldmine Diner, and Martin Dam. Nearby towns offer plenty of shopping, hiking, and sightseeing. We are located 50 miles from Montgomery, 40 miles from Auburn University, 95 miles from Birmingham, and about 2 1/2 hours from Atlanta. The nearest place to launch private boats and rent pontoon boats/kayaks is Anchor Bay Marina which is about 2 miles from Summer Haven.

Lake Martin water levels are controlled by a hydroelectric dam. Water is lowered by 10 ft. in the winter. This lowering begins on Oct 15 at about 2 ft. per month. The water starts to rise on Feb 20 and is back up to full pool by May 1. Great bass fishing starts in November. The fishing is still great and we have a floating pier with stairs! The best time for trophy striped bass fishing is February to May. Lake Martin is an 'Alabama Treasured Lake' and is now on the 'Alabama Bass Trail'. Lake Martin is popular for bluegill, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, striped bass, crappie, bream, and catfish.

Please book early to get your best time. We accept reservations up to 12 months in advance. Rentals for longer than 7 days will be considered for long time renters at Summer Haven and long time members of VRBO.

Due to the high housekeeping standards, early check in and late departure are not available. Check out is no later than 10:30 am and check in is no earlier than 3:00 pm.

We provide starter amounts of toilet paper and paper towels. Remember to bring additional supplies with you.

Safety: The house and property is not childproof. There are high areas without handrails.
Dock: The dock has two cleats, four bumpers, and a rubber rub rail. It is suitable for one boat only. We are not responsible for damage to your boat.
