This is a lovely home with lots of outdoor seating area to relax after a day of activities. It's just a mile from Turkey Run, and the host provides a park pass. The host responded quickly to questions and was very accommodating. We loved it here and would stay again!

Our family absolutely loved our stay at the Rustic Retreat! Plenty of space for four inside, and lots of fun activities outside. Would definitely stay again if visiting Turkey Run/Shades!

Our stay at the Rustic Retreat was wonderful. Check in was super easy and the home was extremely clean and comfortable. The host is extremely quick to answer any questions. The house is equipped with everything you need. Several games are available in the yard as well as a firepit and hammock. The porch is extremely comfortable and provided great shade during the hot temperatures during our stay. A hot tub is on the back porch. The area is extremely peaceful. A State Park pass is available for use and came in very handy for our daily hikes at Turkey Run which is a very short drive right down the street. The Rustic Retreat will be our base for any future stays in the Turkey Run and surrounding area.

We found the stay quite enjoyable. The amenities were fantastic. The house was really clean and well stocked. We found the owners to be very easy to communicate with and very helpful. We would highly recommend!

The house was very clean, but upon arrival to what is listed as a smoke free home when entering home we could smell smoke. Once In the home you could not smell the smoke. This could be smelled whenever we left for the day and came back in. The home is beautifully decorated in a rustic style. We did book this home because of the whirlpool listed and we’re very much looking forward to relaxing each evening of our 3 night stay. The whirlpool was not working. So we were not happy that we paid what we did for a no thrills vacation stay. The host did say on the day we arrived that they were going to fix it the next day, apparently they couldn’t get the part or it couldn’t be fixed so they needed to order a new whirlpool. That didn’t change the fact that we booked because of wanting a whirlpool, and with the amount of tourist in the area we could not get a different room. We were not offered a discount either due to this.

Like you said, we did try to resolve the issue during your visit but ultimately needed to order a replacement. We also take the smoke concern seriously, as our home is listed as smoke-free, and we will continue looking into it. We’re sorry your stay did not meet your expectations and appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention.

Everything was amazing! We loved the space, the thoughtful decor, and the quietness of the property. It was such a restful spot for our family, and just a mile down the road from hiking and horseback riding at Turkey Run. We especially loved the front porch! Hope to be back again sometime!

Cute little place perfect for two couples or small family. Great access to Turkey Run state park as well as other places in the county. Well stocked kitchen and appreciated amenities like toiletries and ability to do laundry

We loved our stay! The outside was so relaxing and fun. It was a wonderful location and the cabin had everything we needed. I really appreciated so many of the little things- the standing portable fan, the state park pass, the quality plates/cups, comfy blankets and the big tv and electrical fireplace. We plan to return! My one recommendation is to put a pillow top on one of the beds since they’re both SO firm.

Great Experience near Turkey Run State Park. We had a large family group who was camping at Turkey Run, and a few of us were interested in being as close as possible in a home. This one delivered. It only took a quick 2 minute drive to get to the campsite. The home was just as advertised. We enjoyed using the hot tub, and wish we had more time to play all of the yard games too! In the age of "too many checkout instructions," we were also pleasantly surprised at the minimum requests from the hosts here. We highly recommend and will likely stay here again!

Communication with Nicole was great. The cabin was perfectly located near the Turkey Run main entrance, if needed a state park pass was available. Cabin was clean, appliances worked well and was an overall cozy experience. Would return and recommend.

This was an incredible place. The house was so well stocked and every last detail considered. The hostess was very easy to reach with our small questions. Quiet property, but still close to towns to explore. We will be back!

We really enjoyed our stay at the rustic retreat! It is clean and appears to be newly renovated. Very inviting, relaxing, and fun. Lots of blankets to cozy up inside and peaceful scenery to enjoy outside. Assuming you plan to explore at Turkey Run State Park, the free admission pass is a great perk offered by the hosts! We also enjoyed a couple campfires (wood included), grilling on the Blackstone, and playing games (including the customized outdoor bowling set). Very impressed with the smart washer/dryer combo as well. This place definitely has a personal touch, lots of attention to detail, with a home away from home feeling.
