Spectacular Hawaiian-Style Contemporary Vacation Rental on the lagoon across from the Pacific Ocean in Carlsbad!

Are you looking for high end finishes with stunning whitewater ocean views and peaceful serenity? This is the place! Rare double Cul de Sac location provides unsurpassed peace and relaxation at the beach! There are ocean views from nearly every room!

The entire Carlsbad Kai Residence 3,100 square feet (5 bedroom / 5 bath).

Huge unparalleled 'sky decks' from each level with forever ocean views! The decks have comfy outdoor furniture and natural gas fire tables and grills. Inside there are European commercial appliances, natural gas fire places, high efficiency forced air heating and air conditioning, 55' Smart TVs and super-fast, reliable internet/wi-fi. There is no carpeting in these units -- just luxurious stonework and porcelain floors. The residence is fully furnished, the kitchens fully equipped. We provide all linens and beach towels. We also provide beach chairs, beach umbrellas, Boogie Boards, sand toys and 5 beach cruisers. When you return from the beach, there is an outdoor natural stone beach shower and more fun in our game rooms with pinball, Pac Mac, and Foosball.

There is no smoking and no pets allowed anywhere on the premises.


A ten-minute walk on a sandy path around the lagoon to the beach. One mile to the charming village of Carlsbad for shopping, dining, and nightlife.

Super Location in Carlsbad

We had a wonderful stay at Kai - a great home base for venturing to Legoland, biking to Carlsbad Village, & surfing at Warm Waters/tower 30. The well-appointed units - with spectacular views - were spacious enough for our large family; and the kids loved the pinball machines, arcade games, etc. My only critiques are that there wasn't plasticware for the little kids and that every door has tempered glass, which is obscure but lets light in. Otherwise, we were extremely happy with our stay and highly recommend this property!

Wonderful Place to stay

This place has very good facilities, views, and parking—everything you need for a vacation or family reunion. The hosts are very responsive. The location and view are gorgeous. Grocery drug stores near by. We will go back soon.

Great stay in Carlsbad near the Ocean

The house was perfect for our group of seven. The house was very nice and exceeded our expectations. The owner was very communicative and made sure that we enjoyed our stay. The outside patios are great and we used them each evening for drinks and relaxation. The house is in great shape and very well appointed. We really had no complaints at all.

Fantastic Multigenerational Family Vacation Home

No surprises! The property was exactly as it was presented in photos and description with plenty of room to spread out. Beautiful ocean views from almost every room and the 2 very large decks. Well equipped kitchen(s), amazing game room with pinball machines, foosball table, bikes, beach stuff. There are 2 high chairs and 2 pack N plays. Management was easy and responsive. Did not need to contact them once we were checked in. Less than 10 minutes to Legoland, 35 minutes to Safari Park and 35 minutes to downtown San Diego New Children's Museum. Weather and time of year precluded using the beach, but just a couple of blocks walk.

Beautiful property for 2 families of 10 parents and adult children. Clean, well-stocked, excellent location and great communication with the property manager. Everything was totally turn-key with no extra work involved at check out. Will be back!

Outstanding!

This was one of our very best vrbo experiences! The house is awesome. It is very nicely updated and the two living areas and two kitchens were great for our multi-family group. The house is also very well equiped with bicycles, beach gear, a couple of pinball machines, some video games, and a shuffleboard table. It is in a great location, a short walk to the beach, and very close to Carlsbad Village. The view over the lagoon and of the Pacific Ocean is beautiful. Finally, the hosts were very easy to work with, even letting us check in early. Would highly recommend this property.

Wedding weekend

My daughter was married in Carlsbad, we had friends and family stay with us in this house. Gorgeous views, lots of amenities (tons of things for the beach, bikes, games) We did not look for something and they didn't have it. Would highly reccomend

What a fabulous house/area!

The pictures of the ocean view do not do it justice. As you’re driving up to the house you are blown away by the view, the closeness to the beach, the lagoon, all of it. The house is beautiful. The beds are very comfortable. The amount of beach items was impressive… chairs, towels, boogie boards, sand toys. The game room was great for the kids. The managers were very responsive and amazing. Hopefully we will get a chance to stay here again. Could not recommend more!

Miss It Already!!!

I don’t even know where to start. Yuki and Nancy were already accommodating and kept great communication with me even before the visit. Me, my spouse and my 5 friends from the east coast stayed here for 4 nights. It was MORE than enough for all of us! We have two celebrity chefs in the group and they were both able to use both (yes, both) kitchens to cook up great dishes throughout our stay. Yuki (homeowner) also physically came over when I had trouble turning on the fire pits and grills; in minutes. The neighbors were also very kind and the location is so close to the beach we just walked there every time (be sure to look out for the oyster farms on the way up). We all truly enjoyed this house so much. Many of us have been working to the bone and really needed a restart/boost for the summer; it did just that and more. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for any families or friend groups to stay here!

Spring Break Trip

Wonderful home for entire family (children and grandchildren). Incredible views, close to attractions, great access to the beach and other amenities (groceries and restaurants). Home has game room, beach accessories, bikes and is very roomy. Would definitely stay again!

Great House

Beautiful house and great location in quiet neighborhood. Quick walk to the beach. Kids loved the game rooms! Only recommendation is more spare blankets/bedding. There wasn’t any bedding for pull out couch beds. We ended up having to buy blankets. Overall I’d recommend this house.

Great stay at Carlsbad

We rented the house for 4 days with a group of friends. The check-in process was really easy. We were traveling with two infants and were allowed to check in early to make sure we could arrive well before their bedtime. The location of the house was great - a 10 minute walk to the beach. The game room and the beach towels/chairs/toys were a hit! The only two downsides to this house: (1) the house is located very close to the train and you can hear it go by. This was fine during the day but at night it sometimes woke up the babies. (2) The doors on every bedroom and bathroom are made of glass and see-through which was very awkward. Overall we had a great stay though!

Amazing stay!

We rented out the entire house with my family during my wedding weekend and it was a fantastic place to accommodate both my parents and my husbands parents and our siblings. It was like having two houses in one so it made it easy for people to have their own space and own bathrooms. The views from the decks are spectacular and make for incredible sunsets and dinners! The whole house was so clean and had every amenity you could need. The location was also very convenient and close to a grocery store and the downtown area, plus the hosts were so responsive. We hope to stay here again in the future, it was truly the most amazing property!

Great Place!

The place was excellent. Location was great. Beds were nice and comfy. Outdoor furniture and fire tables were fun. Only strange part was that the bathroom and bedroom doors are glass. They are a bit see through, although obscured, so that made showering and bathroom events a bit strange since we were with a mixed group. Beautiful house with great accommodations though. Would gladly stay here again!

Vacation Week at Kai

We had an amazing stay! The property was exactly as advertized! Proximity to the beach was perfect and the amenities of the home kept everyone busy: Foosball, pinball machines, video games, shuffleboard table, and horshoes! We took full advantage of the beach accessories including the umbrellas and chairs and used the wagons to haul all of the goodies. I had a question during the stay and Nancy and the team immediately responded with an answer. I would recommend the property to anyone and will seek to use them again in the future!

Great Vacation Home - Great Location

Loved the views from the property and the home had everything we could possibly need for our stay. Loved that we had 2 beach wagons, a bunch of chairs and umbrellas and beach toys!! The only thing I could have recommended was the outdoor deck floors to be cleaner. May recommend cleaning before each new guest. Our grandson loved the garage play area and pinball machines. We had a wonderful family Vacation and were very happy with the whole experience! Thanks so much!! Carlsbad is a beautiful, fun and welcoming beach town!

Family Vacation

When you walk into this beautiful home, it’s truly amazing. As stated in the description, the houses a wonderful lagoon and ocean view, is nicely decorated, furnished, and has all the beach equipment and games you would need. We rented the entire house for a week, and it was perfect for our family. The upstairs loft is a little tricky since the stairs are very narrow and steep. The location of the property is close to the beach, village, restaurants, and attractions in Carlsbad are great. As far as being Zen like solitude, I was a little disappointed since the house is located close to the railroad tracks. You can watch the trains go by and throughout the day and late at night, you can hear the whistle blow. This was unfortunate because we could not leave the doors opens much as we would like to enjoy the cool breezes. This was brought to Vacation in Carlsbad’s attention and they agreed it should be noted in their description. Also, they need to provide more paper products. For a couple days it would be adequate, but not for a week and 11 people. For the cost of the rental, more should be provided. Overall our family had fun and enjoyed our stay. Thank you to the staff at Vacations in Carlsbad for being so nice.

Garrity Family Vacation

The property was perfect for a family of 3 generations. The youngest could separate themselves in the lower unit while the older adults enjoyed peace and quiet and a great view from the top unit. There were 11 of us and everyone had a bedroom, except the youngest! The location was fantastic, a short walk to the beach, no parking issues, great amenities. We will choose the Kai property again! Great vacation!

Wonderful stay!

We had a wonderful stay as part of a family reunion. We had 5 adults and 4 kids under 5! It was a perfect set-up for us with the 2 suites and 3 washing machines. We stayed upstairs with our kids and my MIL while my SIL's family was downstairs. It gave us enough space and privacy when we wanted, but also perfect to hangout with the whole family. The house was spotless! View on the patio was gorgeous. Neighbourhood was quiet and it was an easy drive to Legoland as well as Carslbad Village. We would highly recommend this house to friends and family visiting the area.
