Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: What a lovely time of family gathering together in such an accommodating setting! The home is lovely and fully stocked with all needed supplies and kitchen ware for a crowd! The rooms are spacious with more than enough bathrooms! The game rooms and indoor pool, sauna, and hot tub were a bonus! No need to go anywhere - it’s all there! Highly recommend this location which is so close to Gatlinburg without the parkway crowded driving!

Sometimes the best family getaway is the one where you don't need to go anywhere at all! We're so glad the spacious layout gave everyone room to relax and that the game rooms, indoor pool, sauna, and hot tub provided plenty of ways to have fun together. We're also happy you enjoyed the location—close to Gatlinburg without having to spend your vacation sitting in Parkway traffic is definitely a plus! The only reason I didn’t give 5 across the board was my grandson got a splinter in his finger from the stairs and fell in between the steps that are so far apart coming in

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We're very sorry to hear that your grandson got a splinter and took a fall during your stay, and we certainly hope he was okay. We'll have our team take a close look at the stairs and address any rough areas in the wood that could cause a splinter. We appreciate you letting us know so we can make sure it receives attention. We would also like to clarify for future guests that this particular staircase features an open-riser design, an intentional architectural style that creates a more open look and feel. The vertical space behind the stair treads is open rather than enclosed, but there are no gaps within the steps themselves. We hope that, aside from this unfortunate incident, your family had a wonderful time together and enjoyed your Smoky Mountain getaway.

Fireside Retreat was a nice place with good amenities in a good location. The only reason I didn’t give it a higher rating is because of parking and several maintenance issues. All nearby homes have adjacent parking. We were able to park by ours too, but only because the street was closed off in front of it due to it being caved in right by the house so we appropriated that spot. Otherwise our 2 designated parking spots were down the street. Also the master bath’s shower door was stuck off track and the AC on the floor with the indoor pool, theater room and a bedroom did not work, so one of our party who used that bedroom was uncomfortable two of our 4 nights there and we couldn’t use the theater room. I will credit the hosts for quickly sending repairmen out. Still, we were inconvenienced 2 out of our 3 full days there with maintenance in and out. (They had to call in an AC repairman after determining they couldn’t fix it, who then had to order a part.) They were very polite, so nothing against them and the repairs all did get done. It was just something I think should have been addressed before we arrived. (The cleaners should have reported all this.) I’ve left out a few other issues as they were minor and we didn't report them as we didn’t want to deal with more maintenance people. That said, it was still a nice place and the hosts were very gracious—and the repairmen were friendly, too.

We sincerely apologize for the maintenance issues that occurred during your stay. We perform routine preventative maintenance and regular inspections to help identify and address potential issues before guests arrive. However, despite these efforts, mechanical components such as HVAC systems can sometimes fail unexpectedly between inspections. When that happens, our priority is to respond as quickly as possible to restore everything to working order while minimizing disruption to our guests. We understand that having technicians in the home during your vacation was inconvenient, even though the repairs required multiple visits to diagnose the issue and obtain the necessary part. We appreciate your patience and are pleased our team was able to resolve the issues as quickly as possible. We hope your next visit exceeds all expectations.
