Sobre esta propriedade
Shipbuilder's home - COMPLETELY surrounded by water: 2 docks for access
This renovated antique 1835 ship builder's home is an icon of Blue Hill. It is surrounded by water, with Conary Cove opening to Blue Hill Bay fronting the house, and the calm Mill Pond portion of the large Salt Pond, which extends towards South Blue Hill for a couple of miles. The reversing falls into the salt pond make it one of the birding hotspots in this region. With 2 docks for water access & small craft available at the house, it is easy to engage with the water and discover why Downeast Maine is so iconic.
We transformed this historic barn built by John Cheever by featuring unique characteristics of the era and updating it for today's style of living. The barn is an independent apartment with a full kitchen and a double bedroom in the loft (with a proper staircase) We opened up the walls to connect to the outdoors through adding multiple sets of French doors and picture windows in the barn. An attached greenhouse offers fresh herbs & a is yours to take in the view.

Sobre o anfitrião
Anfitrião: Lee Leonard
We moved here from Colorado to be near the sea and for the incredible community in the area. We love to share our unique home with visitors, who often find it hard to leave the property! It holds all that we love about being on the coast of Maine.
Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade
Blue Hill, Maine, is a quintessential, artistic, and scenic "hidden gem" on the DownEast coast, offering a peaceful alternative to busier tourist spots with its mix of ocean views, mountain hiking, and vibrant local culture. It is celebrated for its thriving arts scene, farm-to-table dining, and historic charm.
O que faz essa propriedade ser única?
We chose this home because it is COMPLETELY surrounded by water. John Cheever build the home so that he could construct wooden schooners on the rock outcropping in front of the house, on Conary Cove. Backed by the calm Mill Pond, which was the first settlement on the Blue Hill Peninsula we love the history and location. The reversing falls that lead in and out of the Salt pond is considered one of the area's top birding hotspots in the region.
