Charming 1934 cottage located in the heart of Wrightsville Beach is the perfect destination for your next getaway. Full of original character and family history, this 3-story home boasts a full kitchen, 5 bedrooms, 2 full baths, 2 half baths and an outdoor shower, perfect for a quick rinse after some fun in the sun. But perhaps the most exquisite feature are the two sprawling porches overlooking the sound.

A quick walk across the street lands you on the sandy beach shore. Get there early to take your pick of shells. And after an afternoon at the beach, head down the street for shopping and a bite to eat.

With room enough for up to 12 guests, this home is ideal for reunions, family vacations, or even a couple's retreat. Kitchen has been fully renovated and features a gas stove and quartz countertops.

*Check-in / Check-out is Saturday. Sunday check-out can be arranged by special request.

Tipsy Cottage an absolute delight!

My siblings and I had a most wonderful stay at the Tipsy Cottage. What a lovely and very "old fashioned" beach cottage and such delightful porches. We loved it all, including the kitchen floor!

Amazing location and great host!

The Tipsy Cottage is right on the channel, has pier access, and a huge back porch with incredible sunset views! The house was built in the 1930's is spacious, it has an older configuration of rooms but has great character with an updated kitchen. It's just a short block walk to the Ocean which was great and family also rented and used paddle boards and kayaks off the pier. Frank was a great host, very responsive and went out of his way to be helpful and he always quickly replied to any texts!

Great cottage

This cottage exceeded all of our expectations. Great location on the water with amazing views, great beach access, and perfect amenities. Stocked kitchen with everything you need, beach towels, great beach chairs, boogie boards, a great dock, washer/dryer and more. My family grew up on Wrightsville Beach and everyone loved this older cottage with the perfect blend of old character and new amenities. The dock was priceless! We all hope to be back and would rent again!

wonderful week!

We were blessed by our stay at Tipsy Cottage. With room for all of our large family on the friendly and welcoming porch, we enjoyed a togetherness that is often difficult with an expanding family of various ages. Our grandchildren enjoyed diving and swimming off the pier; our adult children could easily access the channel for kayaking, paddleboarding, and sailing, Easy access to the ocean, with wagons and carts available for necessary cargo. The kitchen upgrades were great. We are looking forward to returning next year. Hopefully an extra bathroom or two will be considered.

Return visit, always great in the old beach house.

This is a return visit for me with group of guys down for some tennis. House, while having lots of "unique" features has a great location and lots of room and great views of sunset. Will return again in future.

Location, location, location!!

Loved staying at the Tipsy for our 2nd year. Each summer we've rented for 2 weeks and loved every minute of the dock, sound, porch and homey inside surroundings. Two shorts walking blocks from the ocean.

Sound side is the best!

I've known Wrightsville Beach my entire life but this is the first time my family has rented directly on the sound. The pier and front porch were obvious favorites. Other perks were: the beds, comfortable and quality sheets and towels, every kitchen pan and gadget, new gas stove, ample parking, all the beach chairs, boogie boards, beach umbrellas you could imagine, clean, vintage beach furniture with character and comfort, air conditioners in every room with ceiling fans. If I could ask for something extra it would be a light over the large dining room table, washer and dryer on the main level, and to allow mature dog(s), with deposit or not. I look forward to coming back next summer!

A wonderful time was had by all 10 of our family.

Great time with great views

We had a great time at Tipsy Cottage. While it is an older beach house dating back to the early days of Wrightsville Beach, we had a great time with lots of rooms. The layout is not a modern one, it was a classic beach house. We had 10-12 tennis friends stay for a long weekend of tennis and time on the water watching the sunsets and getting a little Tipsy.

Great home on the causeway!!

We all had a great time! Stayed at Tipsy Cottage while 4 or our family competed in the Wilmington ironman event. The house is close to the beach and was a perfect distance from downtown Wilmington and all the activities we needed to be at. The house is "Tipsy", but has great porches for gathering and relaxing on. All the beds were comfortable. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need to cook a meal. We loved the area and would return for another visit. Communication with the owner was prompt. The property was perfect for our needs. We would recommend to friends and family. Thanks.

Tipsy Cottage

Charming,,Comfortable and peaceful. Family friendly. Everything you want or need is right here. Something for everyone from toddlers to grand parents! Fishing, collecting shells, walking to the stores or restaurants. You arrive and feel right at home. The owners are so nice and helpful! You could not ask for better.

Perfect home

This home was everything we expected and more and it made for the perfect multi family getaway in the spring The vintage nature of the house just made it better and everyone with us felt like we were at a relatives house rather then in a rented vacation home We can't wait for next year as our plan is to return to the same spot to watch the incredible sunsets while sitting on the back porch overlooking the water

Home away from home

Unlike so many sterile rental properties tipsy cottage felt like staying at the house of a friend. Perfectly located tons of space incredible views and immediate access to either the inlet or the beach. You can see touches of the owners lives throughout the house which makes for a warm welcome. Seeing 40 years of history cold throughout pictures and art collections and knickknacks made every day relaxation a real pleasure. Tipsy cottage is a comfortable relaxing and welcoming spot for any size group. I can say that I'm certain we will return!

We liked it so much we returned again in 2014

most of the reviews sum up what this has to offer. Maybe the best location on Wrightsville. Private dock, huge deck, lots of room. Walk to downtown or the beach. What a great place to relax. What a great way to experience the NC beaches and water ways. also very close to Wilmington (Costco and excellent dining).

Loved the tipsy cottage

We absolutely loved the Tipsy Cottage. Conveniently located close to everything that Wrightsville Beach has to offer... You can walk to dinner, shops, beach and local watering holes. The dock was great and as expected, we spent most of our time on the porch. Loved everything about it!

We love the Tipsy Cottage!

We brought a couple of families with teenagers for a long weekend at the beginning of summer. We liked it so much we came back the next year and are planning to go again next year. I love the cottage and Wrightsville Beach. The house is right in town and about a block from one of the nicest beaches in the Atlantic coast. The boys still talk about the epic beach football games. From the house, we walked a couple blocks into town for breakfasts and dinners. The "cottage" is huge with lots of rooms to spread out in. The kids were able to stay out of our hair, but we all ended up on the spacious porch enjoying the rockers and the breeze. It's a great place for fishing, boating, sunning, people watching, relaxing and getting away from it all. We love the Tipsy Cottage!

southern beach rustic charm

wow what a great spot. You are on the water, a spectacular sunset view and boat access on the huge dock, and no people walking in front of the house. You are one block from the beach. A 5 minute walk to town for shopping and dining. The house is large, great for one or more families at the same time. It has air conditioning and a huge deck, where most of the time is spent. My family has stayed here and we will be going back.

Tipsy Cottage - Classic Wrightsville

Long, wide, private, water front porch where there seems to always be a breeze. Comfortable, classic wicker furniture. You'll remember the beach, but you will be back for the porch. They just don't make porches like they used to. This is a rare find!

Best porch in North Carolina!

The Tipsy Cottage is a wonderful, comfortable beach home in a great location. We loved the wraparound porches; catching the breeze, views and sunsets over the waterway, watching the boats go by while sipping a cold drink, while the kids fish or swim on the dock. It was easy to begin and end the (or spend the whole day) on the porch! You go a couple of short blocks and over the beach boardwalk to a great wide beach for a day in the sun, swimming and boogieboarding. We walked just a couple of blocks to the local market for provisions, for lunch, for dinner, ice cream, souvenirs etc. We booked a paddleboard session and walked a couple of blocks to the park to meet our instructor. The cottage itself is so quaint and authentic, it's like being in a movie set with all of the windows, wooden floors, nautical décor, galley kitchen. It was probably built in the 30's or 40's, but it is all updated, but nothing real fancy. We kept the windows open and the AC off most of time, the breezes, and sounds filled the house. Great place for a crowd, there's was big dinner table for our low country boil and grilling out) we had a dozen people (plus a few extra during the day). Can't really say anything negative about the Tipsy, best memories!!

Family owned since 1970. Many holidays and family vacations have been enjoyed in this wonderful cottage and we're excited to share this unique property with vacationers wanting to make their own family memories.

There is a lot of original charm, including family photos and other memorabilia that is a mainstay of the decor, making this property ideal for someone who appreciates true beach house living.
