The Space:

Shore Beats Work isn't your average home and you're about to learn why. This two-story retreat has been designed with comfort and convenience in mind, with a location near Indian Shell Mound Park and Audubon Bird Sanctuary.



The first level of the home is where you'll find the main living space along with a laundry room and all the bedrooms (four) and bathrooms (three). The living room's decor is simple, yet enchanting. It has light blue and white touches throughout, two recliners, a sofa, and a loveseat in front of a flatscreen Smart TV with cable. If you were planning on having a series marathon this is the place to be. The chef of the group won't believe it when they see the kitchen. It's spacious and fully equipped to make cooking a breeze. You'll have gorgeous granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, including a dishwasher, French door fridge, coffee maker, microwave, stove, oven, and more! It also features an island and a breakfast bar with two high stools. Right off the kitchen is the dining area with a gorgeous six-person dining table.



This level offers access to front and back decks, each one with its own charm. The front deck has a picnic table along with a handful of chairs and the back deck has a small dining area and overlooks the enclosed yard. Upstairs, you'll find a cozy family room with a c-shaped sofa, an armchair, a small desk, and a flatscreen Smart TV with cable.

The house was beautiful. We loved the back yard. Some of the upkeep is a little lacking but once we brought it to their attention somebody was sent right out to clean the floor. The grill needs replacing or cleaning but we made the most of it.

Great location. Walk to the nearest beach is less than 5 minutes. You can also drive to west beach in 5 minutes. Great house for us and our extended family (9 total people)

Perfect vacation

This a a beautiful, clean, spacious house perfectly located within a 5 minute walk to the gulf beach. The property provided a nice, private stay in a residential neighborhood while being conveniently located near the shops and restaurants. We loved staying here and hopefully will be back!!

Loved this house - very spacious for our two families and the location was great. Quick walk to the beach and an easy, fast drive to shops and food. We had a great time kicking off summer here!

Perfect place for a family beach trip!

The property was beautiful and so clean! Everyone had plenty of room. The parking was plentiful and spacious. Also, there is easy access to the beach! Loved our stay!

Our entire month of February Stay

This has been our 7th year going to Dauphin Island staying in 7 different places. This house was roomy, clean and well set up for our stay. In fact, this place is the only place we have rebooked for the following year. Looking forward to our stay again at the "Shore Beats Work" in 2026.J & S from Minnesota

Great weekend getaway

Great property- booked with ease. House very clean. Kitchen was the most stocked we have had in a VRBO. Great selection of games for the kids. Do homework on beaches before you go- Dauphin Island limits via 4 public access beaches that are $10/day. Not advertised by the house, but we walked from the down Pushmataha Ct….5 min walk and very easy.

The house was beautiful. The island only has a few places to eat and a lot souvenir shops. We were glad that it had the fenced in yard but you do have to go out the front door and around the side to get to the yard but overall it was a beautiful house.

My daughter and I had a great time. We took our dog to the beach for the first time and he loved it. The fenced in part of the yard is not attached to the house. It was great to have though!

Great Home

No complaints other than the elevator didn’t work and we were told it’s only for handicap use. Should say that in the ad for the home I think? We all had a great time! Highly recommended!

Spring Break

We stayed here in our Spring Break first time in Dauphin Island. Great spacious home. Clean and a nice fenced yard for the dogs. Just was missing extra things that were needed, trash bags, coffee filters, no seasonings. Needed more toilet paper, paper towel and dish washing soap. We did purchase them at the dollar general before the Island. Much cheaper.

Location was great! House had a lot nice amenities however one bedroom smelt awful!Rugs need NOT be in homes with pets a lot smells! Kitchen was amazing! Balcony for coffee great!Rooms were quite warm at night even with fans going and temps lower in house. Seems like they brought in extra fans but it was still warm at night. Water pressure really weak kitchen and showers! Nice fenced in back yard for dog!

There were hundreds of baby roaches!! Fortunately, we were moved to another house. Microwave over stove did not work. So we had no hood vent, fan or light over stove.We could have lived with the broken items in the house if it wasn't for all the roaches! Bunk beds are made for little kids..not adults. They were shakey. A/C works great!!

Beach Getaway

Property clean and well maintained with a great kitchen. Fenced backyard for a dog. Sleeping arrangements were not exactly as advertised, but there was 4 separate bedrooms and a loft. It took a little bit of rearranging sleeping for kids, but otherwise it was great. Plenty of room to spread out. Lift was not operational which was disappointing and it was not made for people only luggage. That should be more clearly stated.

We will be back soon really enjoyed our stay! The property manager was amazing and came straight out when we had a problem! We loved the screened in porch and the beach chairs and floats that were provided with the house! It’s about a 5 min walk from the front porch to the beach access! The only problems we had were When we got to the home you could tell the floors hadn’t been mopped too good just being there for two hours and our feet were almost black on the bottom. Another problem we had was some unwanted bugs (roaches) BUT when we contacted the guest services they sent someone straight away and he said they were going to come and spray we only seen a few. The guest service number they provided wasn’t too helpful and kinda rude we spoke to a couple people from there. The jets in the tub didn’t work which was fine because the house was still so relaxing!

Nice house

This was a nice house and had good furnishings. Unfortunately the thermostat was a google nest and controlled by the owners. It would get extremely hot. The chocolate in the pantry was melted. The wifi was extremely slow and would not load google searches. If we could have been cool in the house and had wifi this would have been a 5 star.

shore beats work beats anything!

We were here in March/April - weather cool enough for walkers and warm enough some days for beach fun. Every night was an extraordinary sunset and I actually managed to catch the sunrises a couple of mornings too. We fell in love with Daughin Island. The house was perfect for our family. Very large beautiful kitchen, fun beachy decor tastefully done. Our pups loved the backyard fenced-in area - what a treat that was, especially for a dog who just went swimming in the gulf. Location was excellent - a quick 6 minute walk to the beach for times when you weren't lugging a bunch of stuff. And the drive and park beach access was a 2 minute drive down the road. Puzzles, games, wifi ( a little on the slow side) and a wide front comfy porch on which to sit and relax . A really nice place to stay. The back porch is completely screened and was a nice spot to see the sunrise over the homes. Thank you so much for the hospitality this house provided to us.
