Located in a quiet neighborhood and offering nothing but peace and tranquility, this dog-friendly home near the heart of Joshua Tree (three miles) is ideal for quiet people who need to escape to the desert for a few days! Adventure bounds here. This is the best home base to explore Joshua Tree National Park and to visit 29 Palms Marine Base (25 miles), Whitewater (29 miles), Palm Springs (33 miles), and the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway (35 miles). Additionally, you will be within close walking distance of the mountains, where you may hike, in addition to a trail behind the house.

The home's enclosed backyard offers a great spot to unwind, play fetch with your dogs, and peacefully gaze at the stars in the evening and enjoy the desert beauty and tranquility. Pack your binoculars and delight yourself with beautiful dark night skies. There is an outdoor dining table for alfresco meals. Find a swing set for families (adults or children) for additional entertainment.

Décor features splashes of color and artistic accents throughout the home emblematic of the region. The sunny living room offers a cozy spot to unwind and play board games or get lost in a favorite novel. This home does not have televisions, so you may unwind and relax with family and friends. Spend cozy evenings reading or simply resting in the sunroom with direct access to the backyard. Prepare delicious meals and snacks for the crew in the well-appointed kitchen, which is complete with all major appliances, even a dishwasher!

All amenities were in working condition.....could work on the dishwasher as the door comes crashing down,,,I had read another review that mentioned that so I knew what to expect - just thought it would be. fixed, The backyard was specious and well fenced in so we knew our dog was safe but we were always outside with him since there is a lot of wild life around Joshua Tree, There is no TV which we were aware of so bring a deck of cards or a book. We were there since fireworks are illegal and wanted to get away from the noise in our Los Angeles neighborhood. Neighborhood people are very nice. Hope you enjoy Stewart's story on floods in Palm Springs Life,

Great property, great location, not the cleanest

The property is very close to the National Park and all of the restaurants, shops, and visitor center. Check-in was easy and early, but there were some gross stains on the linens that we had to wash out the first day. One was a pretty large & visible “body fluid” stain on the comforter, so we were left wondering if the property was indeed cleaned prior to our stay.

My husband and I found the property to be clean and nicely decorated. Our dog loved the big back yard and we loved the location being so close to the park but also close to town amenities. Check-in was easy and smooth and neighborhood was quiet. My only note would be that the furniture felt a little sparse-there is the two-seater couch and then small modern chairs that wouldn't be comfy for long. I don't think it would be comfortable for larger groups of adults. Not an issue for us but just something to be aware of.

Not exactly what I expected

I did see this is a “dog friendly “ rental but did not expect the bed sheets to be covered in dog hair. The garage was full of cactus to step on, no broom to sweep up after ourselves, or after the prior guests mess left behind. Long pieces of human hair left on the towels hanging in the bathroom. Dead ants left all over the master shower, alive ants in the “bonus room”, cannot control the ants from coming however if there was not sticky stuff maybe they would not have showed up? Basically needed a good cleaning. Received a text asking about how clean the house was shortly after arriving and I did explain my concerns and was told someone would stop by and I never heard another word after that. I did see there was no TV but I would suggest adding one or a Bluetooth speaker for music. Maybe some board games, cards? Was happy with the size of the spaces. Needs the fence and gate fixed as the wind kept banging around the broken gate on night 2 of our stay. Stayed in many rentals and never left a bad review until now. So I’m not a picky renter.

We truly apologize for this and regret any inconvenience you experienced and housekeeping has been addressed. Additionally, a TV is not a listed amenity but the garage does have some games for kids.
