The Space:

With a sleek, mid-century aesthetic not typically found at the beach, this beautiful home in a tranquil neighborhood of Manzanita will bring an enduring sense of calm to your next escape to the Northern Oregon Coast. Modeled after the renowned Coast Cabins, this home is owned by artists and musicians with long-standing ties to Manzanita, and it has been decorated with the artwork, books, and music that they themselves created or hold dear. So step inside and feel the love that has gone into every aspect of this home.



The main living space is open, airy, and full of light, with windows that reach the ceiling and let in beautiful views of the surrounding evergreens. There are richly hued wood furnishings, accents, and cabinetry, as well as elegant, streamlined fixtures that contribute to the peaceful atmosphere. You can walk home from the beach to toss the day's swimsuits in the washer/dryer, and take a seat outside on the tree-lined patio that's warmed by a Rais fireplace. In the evening, bring a bottle of wine out to the elevated deck, prepare a homemade meal in the modern and well-appointed kitchenette (with a mini-fridge, a four-burner gas stove, a combination convection/microwave oven, and a dishwasher), and play your favorite soundtrack on the excellent stereo system. After dinner, you can curl up on the soft leather sofa and unwind with a favorite movie playing on cable, Netflix, or DVD/Blu-ray.



What's nearby:

This part of Manzanita, just up the hill from the beach, is delightfully quiet thanks to a general absence of car and foot traffic. It's beautifully wooded yet it also tends to be warmer and sunnier than the low-lying areas, which you'll still be able to reach on foot. The wide ocean beach is just over half a mile west, while Laneda Avenue - the town's main thoroughfare that's lined with charming eateries, shops, and galleries - is less than half a mile south.

Loved this little hideaway!!

We absolutely loved this house. It was within walking distance of the beach and town and the Friday night flea market. We will definitely stay here again when we travel back to Manzanita.

July 4th Coastal Getaway

My family and I spent Fourth of July on the Oregon Coast and it was amazing! Our home was walking distance to Manzanita and just a short drive to Cannon Beach, Seaside, etc. We rode in the parade in Manzanita with friends and popped fireworks on the beach! It truly was a wonderful vacation for our family and our coastal home was the perfect accommodation for my family!

Great house near the beach

It's a beautiful house with everything you might need for your stay. The place is quiet, and it's about 10 mins walk to the beach and town center. Surrounded by pine trees, beautiful hikes and gorgeous ocean. We had a great stay and would love to come again!

Stayed here for 3 nights in October. Close enough to town (15 minute walk). Clean and comfortable. Nice deck to sit out on when sunny, and a little firepit out front too. Would visit again.

I absolutely recommend this space. The decor and layout was calm, the super quiet neighborhood was a dream to walk through to get to the beach, and they had the amenities any small family would need. It was pleasant, no surprises and it was perfect. 10/10. Hope to stay there again.

The house was perfect for us and clean and as shown in the pictures except I think the outdoor stove was different. Beds were comfortable. The house is a 10-15 minute walk to the town center. Manzanita is lovely and less busy than Cannon Beach which we liked. When we stayed, there was a new house being built behind us - since we were out and about most of the day, this wasnā€™t too much of a noise issue. Would stay again if we ever come back to the area.

Great retreat in the trees

Really enjoyed being surrounded by the trees but also easily walkable to the beach - felt like the best of both worlds. The house has everything you need, is comfortable, and clean, with some cool design choices too. As others have noted, there isn't a standard oven but we knew about this beforehand and it didn't affect our trip.

Except for the beds not being made, a dirty bathroom sink, zero condiments except for salt and pepper (not even a teabag), it was a basic no-frills stay. This property is in Manzanita, so it is quite expensive in comparison to other properties other places.

Overall, a good experience.

The house was very comfortable and overall clean. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. For cooking, there is only a kitchenette with no oven and a tiny refrigerator. For improvements, please clean the glassware in the kitchen, as we did this ourselves. The light in the great room is very limited, as there was no light bulb in the only lamp in the living room. The other lamp over the dining table was filthy. We had trouble parking two vehicles in the parking space as the shrubs were overgrown.

The house is pretty cute. Tastefully decorated and in a great location. It feels very secluded and private despite being in a neighborhood. The coffee table was a huge hit! The back porch area is really nice to sit on and enjoy coffee. The appliances are all really nice, as well. Only downside, (not that itā€™s a huge deal) was that thereā€™s not an actual oven. We wanted to make some foods for thanksgiving to bring to our friends, but were unable to. There is a smaller convection oven, though.

Quiet modern hideaway in the woods

Lovely, well-maintained property. The decor leans mid-century modern, though the house was built in 2010, I believe. Very quiet space, and comfortable. My partner and I appreciated the long table where we had our ā€œoffice,ā€ ā€œgame roomā€ for our Wingspan game, and dining table all at once. The house has just about anything you could need (including a selection of nail polishes I found in the main bedroom!). Just be aware that there is no freezer, and no regular oven - only a microwave/convection combo. Itā€™s a steep 14-minute walk down to the beach, or a 5-minute drive. Would definitely stay here again!

We had a wonderful stay, the house is lovely, very peaceful, and the fire pit is a plus. We would have liked a later checkout, 11 or 12 oā€™clock. 10:00 am is a bit of a push, but we made it work. I would suggest adding washcloths to the bathroom, and a mixing bowl or two and vegetable peeler in the kitchen. All in all it was great. Thanks!
