The Space:

With an open view of the coastal meadow and the Pacific Ocean just beyond, this home showcases a classic Sea Ranch landscape in bright, comfortable style. The main living space is upstairs on the second floor, maximizing the view with large picture windows and an open layout that brings together the living room, the dining room, and the kitchen. You can prepare meals using every essential kitchen appliance (including double ovens and a gas range), and sit down to enjoy them at the island breakfast bar or the dining table for six. The living room, with its sectional sofa and wall-mounted flatscreen TV, is a place to play board games in the warmth of the gas fireplace, use the telescope to watch for whale spouts, or open the glass doors to the deck to let in the ocean breeze.



As you come home each afternoon from a hike on the Bluff Trail, a swim at the Del Mar Recreation Center, or a morning at the beach, you'll find a deck space out back with a gas grill, a picnic area beneath the trees, and a sheltered, private hot tub.



This home is located at the edge of an open meadow on the west side of Highway 1 in Sea Ranch. The Del Mar Recreation Center - with its heated outdoor pool, saunas, and two tennis courts - is a quarter-mile down the road; an access point to the oceanfront Bluff Trail is just as close to the south. Walk On Beach is less than a mile south, the Sea Ranch Golf Links are one mile north, and downtown Gualala - where you'll find the charming Surf Market, Trinks Cafe, and other shops and conveniences - is three miles north.

Guest Access:

This is your private retreat for the duration of your stay -- full run of the house. The private hot tub is available around the clock -- no reservation needed. Driveway parking is available at the property. Detailed check-in instructions, including the door code, will be provided prior to your arrival. As a guest, you also have access to Sea Ranch community amenities including the pools, tennis courts, fitness center, and miles of trails. A recreation pass will be provided.

Stretching along ten miles of the Sonoma Coast, The Sea Ranch offers a rare blend of coastal wilderness and thoughtfully designed homes. Nearby highlights include community heated pool (North) (a short 2-minute walk), Shell Beach tidepools (6-minute drive), The Sea Ranch Lodge restaurant, lounge and café (6-minute drive). The community features miles of bluff-top and forest trails, tidepools, two heated community pools, a fitness center, tennis courts, and The Sea Ranch Lodge with its restaurant, lounge and café. Stock up in Gualala, just 10 minutes south, where you'll find grocery stores, restaurants, a hardware store, and gas. Bodega Bay is a beautiful drive for fresh seafood.



Getting Around:

Plan for a 2.5-hour drive from San Francisco (Highway 101 to Highway 1). If flying, Santa Rosa's Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS) is the closest option at about 90 minutes east. You'll want a car here -- the winding coastal roads are half the adventure.

December through April is whale season. You may spot gray whales breaching right from the bluff trail nearby. Wildflower season (April-June) transforms the coastal bluffs into a tapestry of color -- worth an extra walk on the trails. Summer offers long days and warm afternoons, though the iconic Sonoma Coast fog often rolls in at sunrise and clears by noon.
