Beachgoers will love being a mile from Black Point Beach. Hit nearby Shell Beach to check out the tide pools and the unique landscape with rugged ocean bluffs, then take your dog for a walk on Bluff Trail. For an excellent breakfast or lunch, drive two miles to the Ranch Cafe located in Sea Ranch. And the charming town of Gualala is just a short drive north for groceries, galleries, and restaurants.

Guest Access:

From the kitchen to the deck, everything in this home is at your disposal. This home welcomes up to 2 dogs -- the yard and nearby trails are ready for your pup. Parking is available in the garage. Detailed check-in instructions, including the door code, will be provided prior to your arrival. As a guest, you also have access to Sea Ranch community amenities including the pools, tennis courts, fitness center, and miles of trails. A recreation pass will be provided.



The Neighborhood:

This home is located in The Sea Ranch on the Sonoma Coast, a masterfully planned community known for its dramatic coastline, meadows, and forest trails. Nearby highlights include community heated pool and hot tub (South) (3-minute drive), Pebble Beach access trail (3-minute drive), Black Point headland trails (4-minute drive). The community features miles of bluff-top and forest trails, tidepools, two heated community pools, a fitness center, tennis courts, and The Sea Ranch Lodge with its restaurant, lounge and cafƩ. For provisions, Gualala (10 minutes south) has grocery stores, restaurants, and a gas station. Jenner and Bodega Bay are scenic drives south.



Getting Around:

Drive a scenic eight miles north on Highway 1 to enjoy Sea Ranch Golf Links with its local Scottish-style golf course. Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS) in Santa Rosa is the nearest airport, about 1.5 hours east. A car is essential for exploring the area.



Other Things to Note:

Sea Ranch has three recreation centers with heated pools, saunas, and tennis courts. Access passes are provided with your stay -- check availability upon arrival as these shared amenities can be popular during peak times.



Exterior lighting is minimal by design to preserve the stunning dark sky -- bring a flashlight for evening walks and enjoy some of the best stargazing on the California coast.



December through April is whale season. You may spot gray whales breaching right from the bluff trail nearby. Wildflower season (April-June) transforms the coastal bluffs into a tapestry of color -- worth an extra walk on the trails. Summer offers long days and warm afternoons, though the iconic Sonoma Coast fog often rolls in at sunrise and clears by noon.



Up to 2 dogs are welcome. Please keep dogs on leash on trails and clean up after them.



Cell service can be spotty along the coast. The home has WiFi for staying connected.

We enjoyed our stay at the Tree House. The house is in a nice forest location near the Bobcat Trail. The house was clean when we arrived. We were pleased to find an enclosed yard area for our dog, but she wouldn't use it because of all the dog poop.

Gorgeous setting and very relaxing

This house is serene with a huge bathtub that overlooks the redwoods. The beds are very comfortable and the beach is very close. I highly recommend the Tree House in Sea Ranch! It was a 5 star experience!

Great location.

Great location with nice exterior lot as well as views. Rooms were larger than the appeared online, nice layout. Would recommend to friends and look for a repeat visit if we go back to that area.

Highly recommend. At first I thought being on the bluffs would be better but we were glad we were in the redwood forest, with a mini view of the ocean and in the shade. Great location for pets. Beautiful trails through the woods from the house (look on your all trails app.. Incredible forest surrounds the house. Deer and turkey passing by in the morning. Porch off of kitchen great for morning and afternoon. Sunsets from house spectacular. The kitchen needs a little upgrading and the laundry vent out back needs cleaning, lint everywhere. Small thing that can easily and cheaply be fixed.

Beautiful home in redwoods

We loved our stay here. The home is lovely and well equipped. Thereā€™s a beautiful trail through the redwoods just next door that follows the creek out back down to the highway where itā€™s a short walk along a street to the bluff trail and beaches.

Tree House Retreat

We loved the setting of this home and its location. It was a fun place to meet with family from San Francisco. The floor plan and furnishings were fun and the bedding was nice. The kitchen and great room are huge, as is the kitchen. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset, as well! It was very nice that we could have our dog with us, too!

Great spot, especially for pets

This is a nice house in a beautiful location. I would more strongly recommend for people traveling with pets as there is dog fur and a dog smell in the common areas of the house. If that doesn't bother you or you are traveling with pets, this would be a perfect spot.

What we liked- beds were comfortable enough, family friendly gathering space, large kitchen with well functioning appliances, could hear the ocean, nice garage space, walking trail nearby. What needs improvement- missing some bedside tables, needed extra towels and flatware, better dusting/cobweb removal We enjoyed our family time here!

Great Weekend

Really enjoyed our time in Sea Ranch. It was a chilly, rainy weekend and we spent lots of time reading by the wood fireplace, reading on the couch, and cooking in the kitchen. The kitchen would benefit from a few more supplies - but ended up having everything we needed for the weekend.

Great Sea Ranch get away in the woods

This is a great house and we'd stay here again. For those unfamiliar with the area, this house is on the redwood forest (east side of Highway 1). It is up a steep hill, but there are walking trails nearby down to highway. It is a 30 minute walk to the nearest beach and about 20 minute walk to the Moonraker Rec center. The house has a great kitchen. Like most rentals it was missing a few utensils we needed (like a spatula), but generally well stocked. The bedrooms could use a refresh on comforters and pillows, but they had what we needed. Bathrooms left a little to be desired as far as the soaps provided in the showers, but were clean and had enough towels. Great dining table and living room with big TV. I tested the wifi at 100Mbs, so plenty fast.

Stylish renovated house with hiking trails nearby. Wood stove works well. Lots of storage. Nice to have the garage available to store our bikes and beach gear. High-end kitchen amenities and beautiful decor. Thanks!

Comfy bed, a nice clean and tidy home with everything you need. The house, furnishing and kitchen including pots and pans etc are a little tired but functional. Kind of what you expect with a short term rental. A great place to base yourself. Easy enough to find the trails nearby which wind down the hill and across the road towards the ocean. Nice to be able to sit of the small deck at night surrounded by trees and stare at the stars. We enjoyed our stay.

Great potential

The place is wonderfully located and peaceful. The house has great potential with specious rooms and good lighting. However, the cleaning was very disappointing. The pillow cases in the primary bedroom hadnā€™t been changed, most blankets were full of dog and human hair, we found dirty appliances in the kitchen, the floor behind the bedside tables and headboard were also covered in dust and hair.

Beautiful house and location!

The house is beautiful and in a beautiful location surrounded by threes and nature and animals. The only complaint is the pet hair, the floors were covered with it, it was in beds, couches and on surfaces, so definitely a better cleaning job is needed, if you have allergies this house is probably not for you as one of my friends was on allergy meds all weekend. But other than that itā€™s perfect!

The perfect family getaway!

Our girls (3 and 5) were so excited to listen to all the records made available by the owner. They had various games, puzzles, and so many books to choose from. Most of the books were math and computer programs books which gave us a laugh but my 5 year old made it her mission to search for kids books in the stacks of 100s! She found a few! Our dog came and we were surprised to find a backyard too! They did there best to fill all the nooks and cracks with netting but we were too scared to leave her back there alone. It was a beautiful home, very cozy, clean, and we can't wait to go back!

Our stay

House could use a bit of love especially in the kitchen. Pots and pans scratched Teflon was glad i brought my own. Had a mr coffee, not nespresso as listed. Some of the dishes are chipped. All are easy fixes. Only had 3 forks... management was quick to supply more. Bed super comfortable excellent water pressure for showers. Excellent comfortable couch and large screen tv. Surrounded by trees yet close to beach. We will be back.

When I arrived there was dog poop on the entryway.There was a problem with getting hot water in the sink in the kitchen and several pieces of cook ware were unclean. The faucet in the master bath was difficult to torn on and impostor turn off and as I result I had to use the downstairs bathroom.No wood was provided for the advertised fireplace.As a VRBO owner for five years I was disappointed by these problems and inconveniences with this house. I would not rent it again.

Perfect location

The location was perfect. You are in the redwoods, but you also have a view of the ocean. Doesnā€™t get much better than that. The master bedroom was very nice. Loved the big jet, Jacuzzi tub looking out over the forest. The shower in the bathroom downstairs never would get hot. there was a ton of cat hair on and around the leather sofa in the living room. The chairs in the dining room and the barstools were filthy. Other than that, everything else was pretty clean. The television intermittently worked throughout our stay. The Wi-Fi always had full bars, but I donā€™t think that it had the capacity to really stream any sort of videos for any length of time.
