Great location if you are going to ren faire. Quiet location with a view of the lake. A little hard to find, it's the gravel driveway before the "on the lake" sign driveway. My only complaint was the floors. The house was mostly clean and looked clean, but our socks were black from walking around on the floors.

Beautiful home! Very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed! Only complaint is that the boat dock was not accessible due to the lake being so low. Would have been nice to know that we wouldn’t be able to park our boat at the house. But otherwise, fantastic place and 100% would stay here again!

Perfect Getaway on Lake Anna

We stayed at Turtle Cove over the 4th of July holiday and had an absolutely lovely time. Hosts are communicative, made checking in and out easy, and allowed us to bring our furry one along (for a fee). The house was clean, had a well-stocked kitchen, and game room with pool and ping-pong for indoor fun when the weather wasn't cooperating. Its location on the lake between Lake Anna State Park and Pleasant Landing was helpful to us to take advantage of both some hiking outdoors and beach time on the lake. I would definitely recommend staying here in the future.

Outside work

The inside of the property is fairly nice and defintley adequate for a nice getaway. However, the outside of the home needs some work. It's not falling apart, but could use cleaning, painting and a few touchups/repairs in some areas. The decks are dirty and could easily be cleaned. The house's hardie siding is faded and dirty and needs painting. The gutters need cleaning and painting and areas of the roof need to be cleaned off. I noticed these areas because I am a contractor. The areas did not detract from our stay, but thought I would mention them. Also, I am willing to provide a quote for all of the areas mentioned and willing to do the work on trade if the owner is interested. Thanks, Chris Ginn. 804-677-4681

Vacasa Management was awful

The house is very nice, bright and pretty comfortable.If you have a dog or small child, you probably want to bring a large gate for the stairwell. It is wide and hard and goes straight down to the basement/rec room.Our problem was the temperature in the house was 52 degrees when we got there about 6 p.m. I called the first local number for Vacasa and left a message. I waited for someone to call back. Then, I called the second number, left a message and waited for a call back. Finally, I called the Vacasa 800 number and was on hold hearing "This is taking longer than we thought, please stay on the line," for 10 minutes until I gave up.A bit later, I started back to the first number and finally reached someone! By now, it was about 8:30 p.m. and we were freezing! She said she would send a maintenance man right over. He arrived about 10:20 p.m.with small space heaters, found the heat pump fan wasn't working and the unit was not heating much. The house finally reached about 64 by 12:30 in the morning.I thought we could just huddle up in blankets in the beds, but there were none. Each bed has a sheet and very thin coverlet like one would use in the summer. We did find 2 throws which were nice and warm.A couple days later a high-pitched squeal was coming from the basement about 6 a.m. My husband found it was the sewer alarm. He shut off the breaker to the alarm and left a message at Vacasa. Got a return message 12 hours later saying someone would be right over.Never again.

We apologize for the heat not working properly upon your arrival. We're glad our team could remedy this with space heaters and that they fixed the issue during your visit. We're sorry for the discomfort this caused and any disconnect in service you felt. We're glad to note that it is in good working order now, and our local manager assured us that the phone number for the local team is in the welcome binder. The septic alarm was addressed, and we're sorry for the inconvenience this caused. We hope you will allow us the chance to provide you with a truly exceptional vacation experience in the future.
