You are steps from local favorites like Bidwell Tavern, Woke Breakfast, and Wasabi Steak & Sushi, and a short, pleasant walk to the shores of Coventry Lake (Patriots Park). Great property close to many restaurants and UCONN. It was a nice place to stay for a 4 day trip visiting my son at UCONN. Check in went perfectly. Beds were comfy, air conditioning in the rooms was very cold and the fan in the main living room was fine without AC. Exactly what the description said. I would definitely stay again when we come for a visit. Thank you!

The apartment was clean and thoughtfully decorated and maintained. The beds were comfortable and we all slept well. Check-in and out were very easy. The family loved being able to walk to multiple delicious dining options.

Perfect place to stay when using it as a base camp to get around the are. Excellent communication from the host. She made it easy to stay there.

Jenny was very responsive with communication. The apartment is cozy, could be a little tight with 6 adults - as the listing mentions the table only seats 4, and the kitchen and bathroom are not large, but are fully functional. The Bidwell Tavern was closed for vacation the week we were there, but would have been super convenient. The sushi restaurant was delicious and we walked to the lake, which was lovely. Great location to explore eastern CT.

Cute apartment, very clean and host was great. Bathroom and kitchen are a little small but worked for us. Conveniently location to Uconn, Coventry Lake, next door to bar & grill (which was great)!. Cute town with antique shops.

We booked this apartment for a week but couldn't spend more than 30 minutes inside. On arrival it looked clean and newly renovated, but a cigarette/nicotine odor was noticeable throughout. It wasn't just lingering smoke; it seemed embedded in the walls and furnishings, strongest in the master bedroom. Every window had been left open beforehand, partially masking it. The host suggested someone smoked outside and advised us to close the windows and run the air purifier.After 30 minutes we developed headaches and left. The host's cleaner met us there later and said it smells like itself and that he just wouldn't describe it as cigarette smell.The next day, a member of our party with asthma wanted to judge for themselves, out of fear of losing our money, thinking we could just deal with it. We let the host know beforehand out of respect, though our reservation was still active. With the windows closed, the smell was now stronger than before, prompting an itchy throat and inhaler use within 10 minutes. We couldn't compromise anyone's health, so we requested a refund and stayed at a hotel instead. Hours later, the host canceled the reservation with no refund and accused us of trespassing.Past reviews describe the same recurring odor, and the host's response has been the air purifier. This place needs real remediation. We travel often and have never had such a disheartening and exhausting experience. Not recommended, especially for anyone with respiratory concerns.

We feel it is important to clarify the facts regarding this review, as it was left out of retaliation after a refund request was denied. When the guest raised concerns about an odor, our team responded immediately. Our professional cleaner went on-site, conducted a thorough inspection, and verified that there was no smoke odor, with air quality indicators showing excellent results. Despite this, the guest chose to leave voluntarily. The following day, the guest actually entered the property without authorization, violating platform safety policies. Once notified, we took immediate action, and the guest was forced to leave the site after being told local authorities would be involved. Vrbo support was subsequently notified, and they officially canceled the reservation to uphold safety guidelines. We take the cleanliness and comfort of our home extremely seriously, and all of our past and subsequent guests have consistently enjoyed clean, odor-free stays without any issues. We always strive to provide a wonderful experience for every traveler.

An unpleasant odor was immediately noticed upon entering the unit, which we couldn’t get used to and made us feel uncomfortable. Told there is an air purifier in the closet, but couldn't shake the initial uncomfortable feeling. The bathroom floor was a little dirty, and there was a dried, sticky area on the kitchen floor near the bedroom. The unit looks as pictured. A pretty lake nearby with a small beach area. Some hiking trails across the street from the property as well. Enjoyed sushi dinner at Wasabi across the street, then checked into a hotel where we felt much more comfortable for our 2-night stay.

I am sorry that our property did not fully meet your expectations. Our home received professional cleaning and maintenance on the day of your arrival. While our team did not notice any unusual odors, any scent you encountered was likely from the professional cleaning products used, and we apologize if it was not to your liking. We also provide a Dyson air purifier for your convenience. Regarding the kitchen floor, those marks are from recent floor refinishing, not dirt. I regret that we were not given the opportunity to assist you, as I was informed of these concerns only after your departure. My goal is always to provide a wonderful experience, and I am glad to hear that you were able to find a comfortable stay at a hotel.

The listing and photos were very detailed and accurately represented the space, so there were no surprises when we arrived. We were primarily there to sleep and shower while visiting campus, and it worked well for our needs. The location made it easy to get back and forth to campus, and having Bidwell Restaurant right next door was a nice bonus for grabbing a meal. Parking was convenient since it’s located behind the building. The unit was clean, we didn’t hear the neighbors, and it comfortably accommodated three family members for sleeping. We also didn’t need to communicate with the host because everything was straightforward.A few things future guests should know: the steps up to the second floor are quite steep, so keep that in mind if mobility is a concern. The kitchen and bathroom are small but completely functional. There was a musty smell that persisted throughout our two-day stay. Also, the property is on a major road, so there is continuous street noise.
