The Space:

Sitting on a wooded lot, this dog-friendly, three-bedroom home has authentic mountain vibes while still enjoying paved access to town. Cataloochee Ski Area is just under seven miles north, and you'll have lots of other snow activities available at Tube World, which is less than three miles west. Blue Ridge Parkway is two miles away, and Great Smoky Mountains National Park is about a 15-mile drive north. You'll also have casinos close by, with Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort 17 miles west and Canton Game Room 17 miles east.



Inside, wood-paneled vaulted ceilings and wood accents help to provide the home with a welcoming ambiance. The living room is dressed with comfortable furniture, a gas fireplace, and a TV with Netflix streaming capability, the perfect space to entertain your guests. The full kitchen is well-appointed, with lots of countertop space, stainless steel appliances, and a center prep island with barstool seating. There is a handsome dining table and more room outside on the furnished deck with views of the woods. Summer months are even better when you use the gas grill to host those hot-weather barbecues while the kids romp around the yard. Let the private washer/dryer knock out everyone's laundry while you gather around the outdoor firepit for an evening of toasted marshmallows and stargazing. The home's high-speed internet and free WiFi make it quick and easy for remote workers and students to complete their projects on time. The garage has a game room with a pool table and a TV.

Streaming services are available with guests' own accounts.

The indoor propane fireplace is not available from March 15th through September 15th.

Penalties may apply if the restrictions on dogs are not followed. 1 dog with max weight of 25 pounds.

We wanted to take our parents on a smokie mountain get away and this house was perfect. We were away from all the hustle and bustle of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge and able to enjoy nature.

The game room is a lot of fun, I walked up the mountain behind the cabin the rhododendrons were blooming and it was some beautiful sights, the cabin is very homey and comfortable, just don’t forget to bring ice so you are not surprised, it was a great trip and we will return !!

We loved our stay at Little Bear. The perfect size for our family of five, we felt like we were alone in the woods on the mountain, even though there were neighbors close. The accommodations were wonderful - just bring an iron if you’re attending a wedding! 😂 Wish we could’ve stayed longer.

Little Bear is wonderful.

We loved our stay at Little Bear. The back porch and the fire ring are great amenities. The house is well appointed and well equipped. Lots of games, fantastic new refrigerator, and even EV plug ins. I highly recommend this rental.

This cabin has every thing you need and want and more. We loved the game room and the scenery is to die for. very quiet location perfect for coffee and watching the sun come up. Surrounded by mountains. All the little details in the cabin make it feel like home. Only thing I have negative to say is the master bed is very firm other than that we loved our stay and plan to come back again.

Girls get away

The house was perfect for a birthday getaway. The house was super clean with all the modern amenities. Tastefully decorated for the Christmas season with Christmas lights outside and a nice Christmas tree inside. The sound of the creek was nice and serene. Maggie Valley and Waynesville offer the best of the western Carolina mountains. We were able to witness a winter parade in Waynesville on our last day that made this vacation perfect. We are already planning on coming next year and we will definitely stay at Little Bear again.

Amazing Time!

We visited Maggie Valley to ski for my son’s 13th birthday. It being our first time we needed to find a place to accommodate our group of 6. This property provided just that! It was roomy and welcoming. We thought the cabin themed home was the perfect layout which included a game room essential for our boys to keep busy. The kitchen was fully equipped with beautiful upgraded appliances for meal preparations. The only minor flaw that we experienced was a little plumbing blockage in the master shower. I’m sure some drain-o would be a quick fix to that. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend/rebook in the future.

Peaceful location, beautiful home

Beautiful home and peaceful location with the creek next door lulling us to sleep. Unfortunately, the lights stopped working in one of the bathrooms and was not addressed during our stay. Would have liked a discount for that inconvenience but since the host was a third-party company, no sympathy was given and communication was sterile and impersonal. The linens weren't gross or anything but they are overdue for updating. Otherwise, the home was clean and quiet at night (neighbor nearby was blasting music during the day). The bear theme was cute and the home was spacious and comfortable for a family to stay in.
