Whispering Cedars Cabin

Nestled in the heart of Mabank, Whispering Cedars Cabin offers a peaceful escape surrounded by beautiful cedar trees. Located on a small farm with friendly goats and chickens, it’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy the countryside.

The space
Come relax in this recently renovated private guest space, located just 2 miles from downtown Mabank. This cozy unit is completely separate from the main house, giving guests their own private entrance and space to enjoy.

The Space:
Step inside to a large air-conditioned entryway that opens into an open-concept living room and full kitchen. The kitchen includes a microwave, refrigerator, complimentary coffee, and everything needed for a comfortable stay. Please note there is no dishwasher.

The bedroom features a queen-size bed, and the futon in the living room can comfortably accommodate one additional guest or two small children. Guests can also enjoy Wi-Fi and a Smart TV located in the bedroom. There is a laundry mat nearby if needed for longer stays. In the closet on the right, you’ll find extra sheets and a blanket. There is also a sound machine, box fan, a few games, and a TV tray available for your use.

The space is also used for my art classes, so the items on the left side of the closet are private art supplies.
If you need the extra seating stored in the closet, please use it indoors only.
The bathroom includes a full tub and shower. We provide bath towels, hand towels, washcloths, and black makeup washcloths for your convenience. A hair dryer is also available. A first aid kit is located behind the mirror, along with a few extra necessities you may need during your stay. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are provided as well.
The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, cups, glasses, and a full dish set with service for 4 guests. We also provide disposable paper goods for your convenience. A wine opener, can opener, salt, pepper, and cooking spray are also available for your use. There is also a large table stored beside the refrigerator if you need an additional table indoors during your stay.
Please note: there is not a garbage disposal, so please do not put food down the sink. We kindly ask that all food waste be placed in the trash can.

The trash may be placed in the large trash can located just inside the gate by the garage. Extra trash bags are located under the sink. Please note that the garage is not available for guest use.
We most likely will not see you during your stay, but we do go out to feed the animals daily, so you may see us at that time. We will simply wave and go on, but if you would like to come see the animals, you are welcome to anytime!
If available, we will leave 6 fresh eggs on the counter for you to enjoy. Farm fresh eggs do not need to be refrigerated until after they are washed. Please wash them before use or cooking.

Outside, relax in the sitting area with your morning coffee or unwind in the evening with a glass of wine while enjoying the peaceful country setting. There are also two chairs and a small fire pit available for guests to enjoy, and firewood is provided. The front yard space is especially relaxing and private — you cannot see the main house at all. You may also see some of our chickens free-ranging around the property. Our dogs wear wireless collars and are not able to access any of the private guest areas where you will be staying.

Parking is available close to the unit, and we can also accommodate additional parking depending on your needs.
