For a really breath-taking view you must visit the Eremo del Sole (The Sun Hermitage) with its beautiful houses, big orchard, an olive grove of 2,47 a and 124 acres of forest. From our swimming pool you can see all there places while you are relaxing in the sun. The Barbican, a tastefully restored Country house, small but with so much charm, was always ready to welcome the previous owners guests. It is situated in the quiet and picturesque courtyard of the Eremo. It retains many of the original features, whilst benefiting from modern facilities. This fascinating property was completely built in stone and has handmade terracotta tiles and ceilings with old beams. The interior is elegantly designed with particular attention to the colours of the walls using relaxing pastel tones. One of the best point of the house is the old stone built Gazebo on the courtyard of the Eremo. Itā€™s particularly comfortable with a spectacular view and where you can have very romantic candlelight dinners.

Lovely property with great views

Our stay at the Barbacane was lovely. It's pretty close to Spoleto, though a somewhat winding road. The kitchen is well-stocked, and the bed is wonderfully comfortable. We had a very nice time there!

Es war ein schƶnes Objekt. Aus der Beschreibung wurde aber Ć¼berhaupt nicht klar dass es noch 2 wohnheiten gab mit der man sich den pool teilen musste und auch die Terrasse wo man frĆ¼hstĆ¼cken konnte. Die Familie war zwar sehr nett aber das sollte man nennen.sonst ein schƶnes Haus mit toller Aussicht. Die Betreuung von Federica war sehr gut.

Wir hatten einen absolut wundervollen Aufenthalt in dieser Ferienunterkunft! Bereits der Kontakt vor unserer Ankunft war von einer herzlichen Freundlichkeit geprƤgt. Die Gastgeber sind unglaublich warmherzig und aufmerksam, was unseren Aufenthalt noch besonderer gemacht hat. Die Unterkunft selbst strahlt eine gemĆ¼tliche und einladende AtmosphƤre aus. Sie ist liebevoll eingerichtet und bestens ausgestattet ā€“ es fehlt wirklich an nichts! Die Lage ist einfach traumhaft, ruhig und idyllisch, umgeben von Natur, sodass wir die Ruhe und die frische Luft in vollen ZĆ¼gen am schƶnen Pool genieƟen konnten. Es war die perfekte Oase, um dem Alltag zu entfliehen und neue Energie zu tanken. Trotz der ruhigen Lage sind Einkaufsmƶglichkeiten und SehenswĆ¼rdigkeiten gut erreichbar, was die Unterkunft ƤuƟerst praktisch macht.Wir kƶnnen diese charmante Ferienunterkunft wƤrmstens weiterempfehlen und freuen uns schon auf unseren nƤchsten Aufenthalt dort! Hele mooie locatie

Wat een geweldig verblijf hebben wij gehad. Toen we aankwamen bleek dat we een appartement zonder airco hadden gereserveerd en mochten we van Ginevre naar een ander appartement met airco. Dit was geweldig op een hele mooie azienda! We hebben heerlijk gezwommen in beide baden en lekker culinair gegeten in het restaurant, kortom super!

Excellent experience.

During a difficult time of travel, the owner of the property made our stay stress free and easy. The owners were exceptionally responsive and helpful in our planning for our visit next year. They gave us space but made us feel like part of the family business all at once. Exceptionally thankful for them and the experience they created for us. The property and views are truly breathtaking. We highly recommend.

Heaven is a place in Umbria

It really is! We could have stayed at Eremo del Sole forever! The most beautiful house in the most magical setting. Spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. Ginevra was the most lovely host, ensuring that we had everything we needed and offering suggestions of things to do and where to eat in Spoleto. The pool is enormous with a plenty of space around it for sunbathing. And the view is incredible! We loved sitting by the outdoor fireplace for aperitivo during sun set - we already miss it! Thank you Ginevra, it was more than perfect!

Paradise in Umbria

To sum it up: Just perfect - never expected such a hospitality, cordiality and nice apartment with love to details. The House is beautiful, calm, relaxing. Kitchen is well equipped, everything very clean. Moreover the owner and her family took care about us, helped us as we had problems with our car, gave us good tips for excursions, were always there for asking without being present too much. Just the perfect choice - we will surely come back! Grazie Mille!

Magnifique havre de paix et de soleil

Nous avons passĆ© deux trĆØs belles semaines Ć  Eremo del Sole, au cœur de l'Ombrie. L'endroit est bien situĆ© pour accĆ©der facilement Ć  la plupart des sites de la rĆ©gion. Accueil impeccable, les habitations sont trĆØs bien amĆ©nagĆ©es et entretenues. Grande piscine Ć  volontĆ©. Un pur bonheur !

Tolles Ferienhaus in einmaliger Lage

Das Ferienhaus liegt in einer tollen, ruhigen Umgebung und man kann vom Pool aus den Sonnenuntergang genieƟen. Man genƶtigt auf jeden Fall ein Auto, denn bis in die Stadt ist es zu FuƟ ein StĆ¼ck. Das Ferienhaus ist sehr schƶn eingerichtet, alles sauber und die KĆ¼che ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Anne ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit und man merkt, dass sie mit Leidenschaft die HƤuser vermietet. Alles in Allem ein tolles Urlaub. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Perfekter Urlaub in einer wunderschƶnen Unterkunft

Wir haben unseren Urlaub an diesem Platz sehr genossen. Hier stimmte einfach alles: Ein mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtetes Appartement, ein gepflegter Pool, die schƶne Aussicht und eine Vermieterin, die man einfach gern haben muss. Danke Anna! Ein weiterer Vorteil des Anwesens ist die NƤhe zu Spoleto, eine wirklich sehenswerte Stadt mit historischen SehenswĆ¼rdigkeiten und einem sehr sympathischen Stadtbild. Besonders positiv fanden wir, dass wir sowohl in GeschƤften als auch in Restaurants nie das GefĆ¼hl hatten, als lƤstige Touristen behandelt zu werden. Wir kommen gerne wieder :-)

A wonderful week in a nice serene place

We had a wonderful stay in a beautiful appartment. We enjoyed the big swimming pool and the great terras besides the well decorated house. The house is very close to Spoleto and it is such a quiet and serene place to be. The host Anna was very helpful and even guide us to the house. We had a wonderful week and we will certainly come back in the near future.

We had the place to ourselves apart from the cat as neither of the other properties were occupied. It was lovely not to have to share the pool. Anna is a good host and helpful. However it would be good to have some more leaflets and maybe a street map of Spoleto in the apartments.

My wife and I are just back from another superb holiday at Eremo Del Sole in spotlessly refurbished Barbacane. If you like riding and horses, then the nearby Spoleto riding school, also owned and personally managed by the Marini family, is a must. But booking required as it is very popular. Barbacane provided us with a very comfortable and peaceful stay. Wonderful place for just chilling and recharging the batteries. The large , warm swimming pool with its infinity views over the hills and countryside is stunning. If you prefer culture, Spoleto has so much to offer, especially in June and July with the Spoleto International Festival, which this year included Shakespearean drama and in the past, even the red army performing Cossack dancing! Very good and reasonable eating in excellent, local restaurants. The Marini family are always on hand to offer advice on what to do and see. Anna Marini, always provides you with a big smile, a wonderful, warm welcome, and manages the house with great skill and attention to detail. We have been coming to both Eremo Del Fate, and Eremo Del Sole, for the last 10 years. Just can't stay away. Speaks for itself. Highly recommended.

Lovely Spoleto

My boyfriend reserved the Barbacane house at the end of June 2015 and I must say that it was an amazing experience. We arrived there easily on a rented car and the property is really near Spoleto! The house is small but so lovely and the sunset from the Old Gazebo is truly unforgettable. The Villa is an oasis of calm and we really want to thanks the owner...Anna for having been so helpful and nice with us..! We enjoyed the swimming pool very much! Itā€™s the perfect way to relax a bit and enjoy an ā€œaperitivoā€ after a full day of sightseeing in Spoleto, Trevi, Spello, Bevagna, Assisi and all the other fantastic towns of the valley.... We had a very happy and relaxing time staying in Barbacane house and I would highly recommend it .

The perfect chill-out

Evenings spent by the fire with glass of wine in hand, watching the sun go down and moon rise over a small Umbrian hillside village, lazy Days spent around the beautiful swimming pool watching the kids playing or lounging on the comfy seats outside our rustic style apartment. That about summed up our one week stay at Eremo del Sole. Our usual holiday style is to go sightseeing every day ā€“ much to the annoyance of our two children who we have to drag away from a pool. But when we arrived we just thought, why move? The setting was so perfect. Our previous week was spent in Tuscany where we did quite a few sightseeing trips, so this was the ideal chill-out. Although you are only based about 15 mins from the town of Spoleto, you feel like you are a thousand miles away from town life. If you wish to visit Spoleto itā€™s a good size town with may beautiful buildings, cafes and restaurants. It feels genuine and not a tourist trap. Or if you wish, there are many other lovely villages around the area to visit. Anna the Italian owner is a fount of knowledge and couldnā€™t be more helpful. She tried to make our stay as enjoyable as possible, including laying on a pizza party at her daughterā€™s holiday home. Guests are invited to make their own pizza which is then baked alfresco in a proper pizza oven. Generally we never return to the same holiday location, but in this case I think weā€™ll be back.
