This is a cozy 1 bedroom, 1 bath home situated 1 block from beach access to the Seacliff State beach. Just far enough to feel peacefully apart from the crowds, but just minutes from the sand. This popular beach runs just south of Santa Cruz and boasts miles of sand. There are a variety of restaurants, and a shopping center all within walking distance.
One of the many great features is the back yard/patio! Sit back and enjoy your favorite beverage while you BBQ or simply sit back and listen and enjoy the sound of the ocean.

The toilet overflowed within 2 hours of the 1st evening of my stay. The property management was very responsive upon notification and a plumber was onsite within 30 minutes. However, the property manager did not follow up after the service and did not send anyone to clean the bathroom of the toilet wastewater. This made me very uncomfortable. The old wood entry gate did not allow easy access to the driveway in front of the home. I needed to use a bungy cord to keep the gate open so my car would not get damaged during entry. No one advised me of this. I had a bungy cord in my car trunk to keep the gate open. The interior bedroom and bathroom is very small and does not allow any room for much storage. The 'rules' i was given about laundry and linens, upon arrival and regarding departure, made me uncomfortable. I couldn't fully relax and felt like my stay was overly monitored. The back patio is very nice. The front area gravel rock was difficult to walk on. One of the plastic chairs in the front yard was broken at the arm rest. Overall, I felt like I was in a 'dump' and was disappointed with the home. It was close to the beach and the time to walk there was accurate per the posting. It is best to accommodate only 1 or 2 persons. 4 Persons would be extremely cramped. I would not recommend this home to any vacationers, unless you are looking for cheap accommodations with very little amenities.

Reviewer Comments: Cute lil house, nicely set up for all a vacationer's needs; a well stocked kitchen, comfy and sturdy furniture, a few games and books, good wifi, a small, but cozy bed, lovely outdoor spaces front and back too, and the neighborhood is quiet and walkable! House is clean and tidy which is so appreciated, nice job housekeeping! I think "Steps to Sand" is a bit misleading, a short walk or a quick bike ride to sand is more accurate. Downsides: they provide first roll of toilet paper and then bring your own? I managed 2 dozen vacation homes in Tahoe for 17 years and NO ONE brought their own TP, it was provided. Plus, the one roll is a terrible one-ply! If you have the possibility of ants (no big deal as some climates are prone to them), please provide ant spray. We were surprised at the 10:00AM check out, it's way too early. This is not the norm for the vacation homes I managed in Tahoe or that I have previously rented. Lastly, the front gate is a bit narrow and challenging to get even a smaller car into the driveway, would be nice if it was made bigger as there is room.

The location was awesome. Cute house and yard, however, it was a bit smaller and 4 adults would be a tight squeeze as there’s only one full bed and a pull out couch. The bedding wasn’t the cleanest and there were ants in the kitchen. Overall wonderful stay.

Choose Aptos to avoid Santa Cruz…so glad we did. Great location, nice restaurants (Manuals & Whale City Cafe) Best ice cream (Marianne’s) Beach. House was perfect lots of outside space and loved outdoor shower.

Great cozy home

We had a wonderful stay here. 5 minute walk to the sandy beach and a 7 minute walk to downtown where there are restaurants and ice cream! I recommend sleeping on the sofa bed as it’s a queen. The main bed is a twin and a little small. Besides that, the place is great and super quite. Perfect for a couple or a family of 3-4. 20 minute drive to the boardwalk.

Wonderful Little Beach Cottage

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Have been vacationing in this neighborhood for years. Lovely little home on a quiet street, and a quick walk to the Beachgate Trail. Home was clean and all furniture has been updated since listing photos were taken. Love being able to walk to the beach as well as to town. We didn't use them, but there is a gas, and charcoal bbq as well as a firepit out front; there were boogie boards, beach chairs, and a few beach games in the laundry room to borrow too! Great little home, would happily stay here again!

Great cozy house for a small family

Great location near the beach. Wonderful yards and close to restaurants and shoppers center. We enjoyed the opportunity of having a BBQ, however we never got to it ☺️ We would definitely book again.

Sweet hideaway

Very private and quiet. Easy access, no stairs. Can park the car right in front of the door. Spacious kitchen, dining area, and cozy living room. Great central heating system. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Incredible response from mgmt team each time we had a concern. The handheld shower head was very thoughtful and much appreciated. The place could use a deep cleaning. The double bed was very comfortable for 1 person or 2 small people. Really loved the quilt on that bed. Extremely cozy. The couch comes out into a queen bed. It's comparable to a very thick futon. You have to like sleeping on a hard surface. Really close to the beach. Make sure to visit the fabulous thrift store that is nearby and supports many local charities.

Petite maison agreable

Petite maison en bois agréable, 1 chambre + 1 canapé lit dans le salon, bien placée dans un quartier calme, proche de l'océan. La terrasse est grande et permet de bien profiter de l'air doux. Le temps étant humide, une couverture en plus n'aurait pas été de refus plutot que de chauffer la maison. Il y a aussi de la place pour garer la voiture dans la propriété.

Simple and Cozy

This place is great. The back patio is really nice. You can hear the ocean and the beach is close. The propane grill out back made cooking grilled tritip, lamb, and salmon easy. Would definitely do it again. The bed isn’t huge but we just got closer as a result.

Cute place not far from beaches

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: There were a few things that disappointed us. The main bed felt smaller then a Queen. The comforter on the bed looked very dirty, like blood on it. Property management replaced the comforter with another that had similar stains, but not as bad. The front door didn't stay shut unless you locked it. The driveway looks flat in the picture but it is on a slope. You can get two cars in if the back end of the second car is sticking out the gate. There is no view from the property. It has a nice back yard. There are grapes growing in the back yard that draw ants to the house. There were ant traps around to help keep them out of the house. The things we liked about the house. It was a single level home with very few steps. It was easy for my 92 year old mother to get around in the house. We liked it because it has a kitchen. We enjoyed being able to make meals at the home. I bought a spaghetti server and left it there for others to use. There is a nice BBQ on the back porch, we didn't use it. People that BBQ would like it. Having a washing machine on the property was very nice. We liked the location. Close to the beach and lots of things to do in that area. Monterey Bay is close too and we visited there also. Property Management was able to take care of any problems and they answered our calls quickly and came and replaced a battery on the Carbon Monoxide detector that alarmed when the battery died. Later we found a battery in a closet across from the bathroom.I will stay at this property again in the future. I would recommend it for two to three people or a couple with a couple of children.

Truly amazing stay!!

To start off, the home is beautiful! Very quaint and eclectic, the outside patio is magical and so relaxing - with an outdoor shower to boot. The interior is clean, a tad small but very comfortable… definitely keeping it on the books for a future trip.

Perfect for a small family or couple

Nice little beach house. Awesome patio with a covered area surrounded with grapevines. We had a great stay in Seacliff. Very quiet neighborhood close to the beach.

A little jewel

We loved our stay here. There was a few small TLC issues but great staff. Great place, quiet neighborhood. Clean, and welcoming. Close to everything and nice enough to stay in. Thanks!!

It is small but the living area is a good size and there is plenty of room outside for gatherings with family and friends. My only complaint is that the pillows were extremely flat and the bedding is worn. We also were only given 4 towels even though we indicated that we might have 4 guests. My mom and brother stayed with us for 2 nights and had no complaints about the fold out couch. It also would be nice to be provided beach towels since we came in from Texas and did not think to bring beach towels. They did have plenty of beach toys, including chairs and boogie boards which was very nice. We would definitely stay again.
