Welcome to the Brazos Riverside Cottage!

Sitting on a glorious slice of untouched Central Texas beauty, the Riverside Cottage lies on the banks of the Brazos River and puts you within 25 mins of Waco`s famed attractions like the Magnolia Silos and Baylor University!

Retreat to Riverside Acres and enjoy the sight of grazing deer, kayaking, horseshoes, campfires, stargazing, or long peaceful walks through nature. Come on out and enjoy the getaway! You won`t regret it.

The Riverside Cottage is beautifully staged bringing both modern and rustic themes into the living spaces. The open concept living area is perfect for spending time together. The spacious sectional sofa invites you to kick back and relax while dinner is prepared. The dining area includes a table w/ 4 chairs and a large bar w/4 stools.

Enjoy 2 spacious bedrooms with KING Beds and one modern bath w/ walk-in-shower.

A blow up mattress and pack-n-play is also available.

The back porch is setup for outdoor dinging/lounging overlooking the river. The porch also includes a setup for charcoal or wood chip grilling or smoking.

Note: The wood-burning stove in the living room is inoperable.

I live about 15 minutes from the Brazos Riverside Cottage, so it is very likely we will never meet in person. However, in the off chance I`m around the property during your stay, I always enjoy meeting and welcoming guests if you`re up for it. I will make myself available by phone to offer any assistance during your stay.

Riverside Acres is a gated riverside community on the banks of the Brazos River just a few miles from the Lake Whitney Dam.

Deer roam the neighborhood at will and are frequently grazing in the front yard.

Feel free to walk around the neighborhood, ride bikes, kayak up/down the river. There is plenty of room for parking. We ask that you only park within the designated parking area.
Pets are allowed only if approved by Host and with an additional pet fee. No other pets are allowed.

Please do not give any pet a bath inside the home and do not allow the pet on the furniture. Also, please do not allow wet pets inside the home.

ALL PETS MUST BE KENNELED IF LEFT UNATTENDED IN THE HOME.

No fires permitted in the wood burning stove. It is a non-functioning stove.

No smoking in the home.

No parties or private events are permitted.

Cozy little house nestled on a quiet and secluded road. Has plenty of cooking and eating utensils and was bright and inviting.

Situated close to river, plenty of wildlife to view, turkey, deer and hogs. Easy access to the river, property is just beautiful and well maintained.

Peaceful, quiet location

Our stay included day trips to Austin, Waco, and Fort Worth, this house was the perfect location to travel to these destinations. This home was very clean, comfortable master bed and most of all secluded at the end of a road. We were entertained by birds, ducks on the river behind the house and many deer. We would love to return again if we’re ever in this area again.

Peaceful

We loved our stay! It was peaceful, relaxing and private. My sons and I really needed a place to completely disconnect and make new memories! The home was perfect, we had everything we needed. We enjoyed the shops in Whitney, everyone was so welcoming. This one is staying on my list.

A wonderful place

A beautiful cabin along the Brazos River to make memories. We had a great time. Our two oldest daughters (7 and 2) absolutely loved exploring the property, and walking down to the river. Our youngest boy (9 months) loved exploring… everything! The cabin has everything a young family might need, we appreciated that so much. This is certainly also a place a couple could enjoy a slow quiet weekend! This was our first experience using VRBO and a rental over a hotel room. It was by a long shot, a much better experience for our family. We can’t wait to go back!

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. There were beautiful views! The Pros: The property has beautiful windows that span the living area, which makes for wonderful views while cooking, eating, & playing games. They have a very comfortable couch for movie time. They had multiple outdoor seating areas and the river is just a short jaunt from the house. You can even see the river from inside the house. There was tons of wildlife in the area: deer, owls, hawks, many birds, snakes, frogs, etc. The location was perfect for what we needed. We needed to be close to an event center for an event we were attending. Also, it is close to Slovacek's truck stop, which had great Kolaches. The Cons: There are not any blackout curtains in the bedrooms, but they have a motion sensor light right by the bedrooms that goes off every time the grass blows. It shines right through the curtains. Our sleep was so disruptive. In addition to the light all night, the beds and bed pillows are not great either. They are not terrible, but could use replacing/upgrading. Also, the house had a slight smell. The house was clean and the linens were clean but the house itself had a lingering maybe sewer smell that you get hit with upon entry. The shower was also super weird. They only have one bathroom, but the shower does not have a privacy door/curtain and it is just open on the other half. We also saw two copper-headed vipers while trying to enter the property, so be snake aware if staying here.

Fun on the brazos

Our stay was very nice. The drive to the property through the woods was really neat. We loved the privacy of the property and the fact that we could walk out of the house to the river was awesome. We had a great time fishing as a family and caught a few bass! The house was very clean and looked like it has had some updates. The beds were very comfortable, and the living space was spacious as well. The kitchen and dining area were a little small but we knew that going in. There was plenty of utensils, plates, and bowls. We cook big meals at most VRBO’s so we found the cooking supplies to be the bare minimum. We brought our own crock pots and pans just in case, and we had to use them. The only miss was that the keurig did not work. We found that the needle had been broken, so we relied on a family member to bring us some coffee. Overall, we really enjoyed the house and the location. We would recommend this place to everyone.

Since your stay, we've replaced our Keurig and reviewed our kitchen supplies to make sure we're providing the essentials. We would be very happy to have you all again if ever in the area.
