Spacious modern house in Playa Chiquita. This beautiful house is surrounded by large trees and only 10 minutes from the sea.



It has 2 spacious bedrooms, each with a king bed and private bathroom, 1 mezzanine with a queen bed, and a fully equipped kitchen. House for a maximum of 6 people.



You can enjoy and relax on the terrace and listen to the sound of the sea, surrounded by lush tropical gardens with hummingbirds, monkeys, and sloths. This place is great if you want to be just steps from the beach, but close enough to all the amenities.



The house is fully equipped. Gas stove, refrigerator, freezer and all the kitchen utensils needed to enjoy cooking in this natural environment.



Please note that in this house we use rainwater and well water, we recommend that you obtain drinking water for drinking and cooking.



Very romantic, quiet and private. The house is located on a 2000 m2 plot.



It is located in a \'Pet Friendly House\'. Only one pet per stay is allowed, and this must be approved in advance. Before making the reservation, please consult with us the conditions and policies of the \'Pet Friendly House\', as well as the possibility of bringing a second pet. Please note that an additional charge of $35 per pet\'s stay applies.



Note:

Due to renovations on the neighboring property, there will be noise at different times of the day due to the ongoing construction work. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

The Perfect Getaway

We had an absolutely amazing time. We often travel to Costa Rica, but never to the Caribbean side. A wonderful, new experience and the Ambar house was perfect in every way. The house is gorgeous, spacious, and very comfortable. We have an active child, so having the pool to cool off & play in was awesome. Every morning, we enjoyed coffee outside and watched troops of monkeys, toucans and more. I can't say enough about how awesome our trip was. We'd love to stay here again.

Great house and pool. Jungle feel and abundance of birds and Animals. Truly enjoyed our stay. Nothing you can do …..neighborhood dogs barking, neighborhood construction noise and all day weed whacking.

Wonderful stay

Everything was mostly accurate as described on the listing besides there being an available pack and play for rent and extra cleaning supplies. The home is GORGEOUS and in a perfect location for seeing all of the sites up and down the southern coast. The pool and outdoor shower were awesome for cooling off throughout the day, but we could’ve used an extra standing fan (the one there is broken) as there is no AC. Everything you need to cook is there plus more. The home is walking distance to awesome restaurants and a small grocery store. Area was quiet and charming. Communication with the hosts was great when small issues arose. Beds could use a mattress topper, but falling asleep to the orchestra of the jungle critters was so cool. The extra home alarm was reassuring for security of our belongings when gone. We really enjoyed staying here the last part of our trip! Thank you!

We found that people delivering food did not know the address. The road is in need of of repair. Ants were a problem in the kitchen. We found your home and the animals tremendous.

In the Jungle

Overall, I really enjoyed the property and the location. Off the beaten path but still very close to the beach (500-600 meters) and local restaurants and other attractions (FYI Playa Chiquita parking is $3 US from a local family near the beach). It took a day or two for me to get used to there being no glass and only screens in the windows as the heat can get intense in the late afternoon but the pool solves that problem quickly. The sounds of the jungle are all around you and though it can be loud I did find it soothing once I acclimated. The property is well kept and the managers are very eager to answer any questions. The internet was sufficient for my needs and we did have three devices streaming at once and only saw a few blips of the services. In July 2021 the neighboring house is having construction and they start at 8 am on the dot so there was a bit of hammering and sawing but once inside you couldn't hear it and overall it wasn't bad. The house does come with a large office cooler size bottle of drinking water and pool towels as well as bath towels are included. There are no bikes which would have been a great perk as you can bike everywhere just remember the heat in the afternoon. Yes, this is a jungle house so there are bugs around but they never bothered us and they were not an issue in the house at all (due to the little geckos in the house I imagine). I really enjoyed waking up with the curtains open welcoming in the jungle noises each morning. With a sharp eye, you can catch parrots and tucans flying by and there are tree frogs on or around the house. There are several grocery stores nearby but visit a few before you make your big purchases as some are much better than others with fresher fruit and meats. We bought a lot of food but halfway through our stay we just started going to restaurants as there as some really good ones nearby (gypsea for breakfast and Pura Gula or spicy coconut for dinner) so we did have leftover food at the end of the stay. I would suggest buy food for a day or two at a time. Also, the most touristy spot, but also our favorite hangout, is Stanford's at the end of the day. It's right in town and right on the water. There's a swing over the water that everyone had a photoshoot on and we enjoyed Pina Coladas and watching the tourist come and go. This is central America and a road less traveled but if you need to decompress with lots of low-key things to do or nothing at all then you will enjoy this property.

We stayed here at the end of february and had the best time! The house was even more beautiful than the photos portrayed. Check in was very easy and quick. We saw tons of wildlife from our backyard including sloths, tucans, and capibaras. The location of the house is great! Playa chiquita is a short walk across the street and the grocery store is just at the end of the road. The only suggestion i have would be to have some instructions on the washing machine in english. We had a hard time washing clothes the first few tries because the machine wasnt draining. Totally a user error but thats because we couldnt read the settings on the washer. The kitchen was great, it had everything we needed. We love to cook and i was impressed with all the amenities the kitchen offered. Also even though there isnt air conditioning, there was no need for it. At night the breeze outside was perfect. We even used an extra blanket. I would highly recommend casa ambar and I hope to return as well.

great family vacation

We stayed here for almost two weeks with a 2 and 5 year old. The house was amazing and location beautiful. short drive to the beach and so many restaurants. The kids loved the pool so much.

Check In was a breeze. Matias met us close by for a late check in. I loved the house! I did see a few roaches in the kitchen but only in the kitchen and the house is so airy and open you are bound to have creepy crawly things.. The house has no AC but it gets so cold in the evening the breeze is wonderful. I enjoyed waking up to howling monkeys at 4am! We ran out of water but someone came over right away and fixed the issue. Our friends and I rented three houses in the cul de sac and we did get yelled at one time by the neighbor but realized how loud we can get and apologized. It was an absolute amazing experience and I have to admit of all the houses in the cul de sac I think mine was the nicest! Wonderful stay PURA VIDA!!!

Excelente opcion!

Esta casa esta muy linda y espaciosa, los cuartos son enormes, muy comodos. Nos encanto la terraza y la piscina, pudimos ver tucanes y llegaron los monos a visitarnos! Disfrutamos mucho y nos gustaria volver, la recomiendo. Ademas que esta muy cerca de la playa, super y restaurantes!

This was my 3rd time in Puerto Viejo, always renting houses from Habitat Vacation Rentals! This time we wanted more luxury and this house is great! Has big comfortable spaces, lots of light and very fresh, AC is not necesary, WiFi works perfect if you need to work or skype with friends or family. Pool is just perfect!!!! loved mornings with hummingbirds. All walking distance, grocery store, restaurants, beach, bars... great place to relax!
