This house is close to Everything!! Tanglewood (3 miles), Kripalu (3 miles), theaters, Jacob's Pillow, Lee Outlets, etc.

This house has a NEW and very large MBR on the first floor with adjacent bathroom.. It also has 3 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. Sleeps 11. Highlights: Central air, private English garden and gazebo, updated eat-in kitchen, mud room, bar area, and new 1st floor bathroom. House is located on Shaker Mill Pond with dock access. Perfect for a family vacation getaway with lots of space for people to come together or to have their own space. Large sunroom off kitchen has great views of the water. Large multi tiered deck off sunroom is great for relaxing and entertaining. In addition, there is a separate living room with lots of space.

There is a dock on the water for easy access for kayaking and canoeing. Not a swimming pond.

It is the type of house where you walk inside and instantly relax.

I try to keep the rental fee as low as possible. To do that I would appreciate you washing the sheets /towels & remaking the beds. NOT A REQUIREMENT
Pls. tie up all garbage & recycling and put in the garbage shed near front gate. Garbage will then be protected. Garbage is removed by caretaker.
Please do not leave wet towels on furniture nor cups/glasses on furniture. It destroys the wood.

We had a great time - we were a family of four, primarily staying as a base for skiing but also with an eye on exploring the Berkshires. The house is well equipped and spacious and we’d definitely come back again!

Beautiful outdoor space. We enjoyed sitting on the deck in the mornings and evenings. Very well-stocked kitchen. Excellent location — we walked to get coffee each morning and visited the sculpture park. Very pleasant stay overall!

The views from the back deck are wonderful and we spent hours outside . The master bedroom is very comfortable and the kitchen was terrific. Would return for sure !

Excellent Ski Week

The home was a perfect location within walking distance to town. The accommodations were charming and great for a family. The sunroom lounge area was a nice spot for coffee in the morning to admire the view and let kids have a hangout spot after skiing. The kitchen was stocked well to cook for the week and plenty of beds for everyone. Great home away from home for the school vacation.

Little slice of heaven

We had a lovely time at Chris’s house, especially enjoyed the close proximity to West Stockbridge and Tanglewood. The restaurant Amici was easily reachable by foot and served delicious foods for vegans, vegetarians and meat/fish lovers. Chris’s house accommodated our family superbly in that everyone was able find a quiet spot either in the house or garden. We had a great time!

fantasy landscape

We took full advantage of the beautiful grounds, enjoying s'mores in the fire pit, grilling on the deck, reading in the gazebo, and canoeing on quaint Shaker Mill Pond. When we needed supplies or just wanted to stretch our legs, a quick stroll into town was just the ticket. Chris was amazingly responsive to all our questions and needs. Perfect central location to all Berkshires fun!

Perfect Berkshire vacation

Our family of 7 adults (ages 20-80) had an idyllic vacation. We spent many hours relaxing on the deck and by the firepit. The small lake was lovely for canoeing - we were the only ones on the lake other than a family of geese and a pair of herons. So peaceful! The house is a 5-minute walk from the shops and restaurants in West Stockbridge and an easy drive to larger grocery stores and fun towns like Great Barrington. The kitchen is well-stocked, and the beds are comfortable. The steps to the second floor are steep, but the giant first floor bedroom and bathroom are a solution for anyone who might have trouble with the steps. We could have happily stayed another week and hope to be back again! Christopher was a great host!

Family Vacation in the Berkshires

Chris is a great host. He was responsive to any questions we had. There was so much to do in the area that we were out for most of the day. It was great to come back to the peaceful property. We loved sitting out back. We started every morning with a quick walk down to Sixth Depot for coffee. Do not miss Turn Park sculpture garden which is just steps away. High Lawn Farms ice cream was a fan favorite. Great week!

Wonderful week in The Berkshires

Thank you Chris for a wonderful week! We enjoyed your "home away from home" on Shaker Mill Pond! The house has everything you need to call it yours during your stay. A wonderfully stocked kitchen, comfortable bedding, fully stocked pantry with coffee (Keurig or brewed) , spices, pots,pans and laundry supplies too! We used the kayak on the pond several times and walked to town for coffee at No 6 Depot (great muffins too) and explored the TurnPark! Using the home as a convenient base, we saw a BSO Concert at Tanglewood, Berkshire Botanical Gardens, Mt. Greylock, Waconah Falls and visit to Norman Rockwells' for the avid Saturday Night Post devotee. Checked out Great Barrington (cool vibes) and SoCo Creamery and spent a couple of hour rocking at The Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge. When can we return?

Wonderfully intimate and yet spacious and comfortable home.

A collection of family and friends - 10 in all - stayed at this terrific home over Presidents’ weekend and all had a superb time. The home couldn’t have been better fashioned for our needs - from a perfectly outfitted kitchen to lounging areas that worked for teens and adults alike. The proximity to four nearby ski resorts and cute towns (such as Lenox and Great Barrington) were huge pluses as well. We would rent this place again - in a heartbeat - perhaps during a different season to take advantage of the lovely setting: steps from a picturesque pond.

Right on the Pond!

The house is clean and comfortable. What makes this property special is its location on Shaker Mill Pond! The view greets you as soon as you walk through the front gate into the yard. Kayaks and canoes are provided and the private dock is right there, making it easy to enjoy the water. The house is a very quick walk into town to visit No Six Depot (coffee shop) the West Stockbridge farmers market, etc. The location is also convenient for getting around to all Berkshires attractions.

Comfortable, well-equipped home in West Stockbridge

We enjoyed our stay at the end of August. There’s so much to do in the area—Tanglewood, hiking, canoeing, good restaurants. The kitchen has everything you need, beds are very comfortable. Lots of places to hang out both inside and outside the house.

Indoor Charm and Outdoor Beauty with Strategic Location

We enjoyed two weeks with grown children and a family friend in this remarkable West Stockbridge home, a perfect launching pad for Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow, the Mount, Rockwell, Chesterwood, charming towns, and everything else in the Berkshires. Someone really lives here, so the home comes with everything you need, even for extensive cooking. The formal garden (with gazebo) is beautiful and maintained. I made heavy use of the kayaks on the pond, which provides a splendid view from the deck(s) and sun room. We tested the 3-system A/C on one really hot day, and they performed well. A special salute to our host, whose useful but brief guide to the home reflects an intelligent, practical mind treating guests as adults, instead of the more typical legalisms of a recent grad from a second-rate law school. Communications were excellent and prompt. Don't miss the quirky, creative, and sometimes moving sculpture garden at the cleverly named TurnPark, next to the Turnpike, about a three-block walk away. Not as striking as Storm King, but in some ways more intriguing. When you think you saw everything, look again.

A lovely spring break in the Berkshires

This is our second spring break in Chris’ home on the Williams river. At the last minute, we asked my spouses parents to join us, as we needed in Providence for a day and it meant the kids would not have to join us. We had a great time…we hiked, the ladies spent a day at Kripalu, we cooked great meals, enjoyed s’mores on the campfire, caught a few bass in the river, and wandered around great barrington. The house is lovely, kitchen is well equipped, and the location is great. We’ll be back.

Great Escape

This stay was incredible. The area has everything we needed and being right on the lake was beautiful! The house was well maintained and had tons of space for four adults and four kids. Chris was so easy to deal with and made this whole experience flawless! Thank you for putting the joy back into vacations!

Great house in a great location

We were four sisters in our mid-to-late sixties looking for a place to have a "sistercation." This place was perfect: four bedrooms, one on the first floor for a sister who had trouble with stairs. The house is clean and well appointed and has everything we needed to congregate, cook together, see the local sights, and still big enough for us to claim some privacy when we needed it. We loved the kayaks and pond, and it was a perfect location for a photoshoot with local photographer Avida Love Photography. A hurricane was approaching, (and thankfully never arrived), but the owner had propane delivered for the back-up generator just in case. And speaking of the owner, he was extremely responsive and prompt in answering every little question we had. This property is convenient to central Berkshire venues, like the Norman Rockwell Museum, Crane Museum of Papermaking, Berkshire Botanical Garden, Hancock Shaker Village, wineries, and theatres: (Barrington Stage, Shakespeare and Company and Berkshire Theatre Group) Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Lovely Oasis in Berkshires

Beautiful property on picturesque lake with everything one could want to enjoy your stay. Canoe and kayak available and fun to use to explore the lake. House is spacious and very comfortable. As others have noted, the kitchen is exceptionally well supplied. The location makes for easy access to many of Berkshire attractions, including hiking trails, Audubon sanctuaries, and Tanglewood. Highly recommend the Rouge restaurant which is within walking distance of the house. Shout out to Mark who trouble shots any problems for the owner, Chris. He was incredibly responsive when a problem arose. Everyone in the family had a great time staying here.

Perfect in every way

We had a great week at 7 Swamp Road. The house is situated in a main road but you’d never know it. Once you enter the gate you’re in your own private oasis. A beautiful view of the pond from the deck, sunroom, gazebo or dock. The house is spacious and clean and well equipped with everything you will need for a week away. Perfect for our friends and family. Centrally located to all the sites and a quick walk to town for all essentials. Don’t miss out on this one!

I have been reinvesting all of the profits back into this house for many years. Anyone that has rented year after year have even commented on this.

Any time someone asks me about this house I instantly say that "I love it." It is one of my favorite places. The only reason I rent it is because of work and having older children, I just don't get there like we used to.

Please come and enjoy it as I do!!

This house has it all. It is very private but also walking distance to a charming Berkshire town that has restaurants, coffee shops, small grocery store, bank, liquor store, and antiques. The house has lots of sleeping space and entertaining space. There is a very large kitchen for entertaining and multiple areas outside to relax, play, or entertain.

New (large) master bedroom on the 1st floor.
