Narrow Escape Rental sits in a quiet neighborhood in the village of Elberta with a short walk to Betsie Bay, just a half mile from the shores of Lake Michigan and one mile around the bay from Frankfort. Our 1200 square foot rental has a private back yard with a privacy fence that backs up to a wooded bluff, and is just 150 yards from Elberta’s waterfront park and the Life Saving Station — a popular venue for weddings and events.

• No smoking
• No pets
• No parties or events.

The area is full of recreational outdoor opportunities and a number of good coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques and art galleries. In addition to typical amenities, the rental includes five bicycles for exploring the area. Internet service and a gas grill is also available.

The house has a roomy main living space with a comfortable seating arrangement. The three bedrooms include beds of the following sizes: a queen in the master bedroom, a queen size in room 2, and three single (twin size) beds in room 3 (a built-in bunk with an extra third bed). The dining table seats six people, and the bathroom includes a washer and dryer for your convenience. The kitchen is furnished with custom cabinets, a full-size stainless steel refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, electric stove, coffeemaker, dishes and utensils.

One of the most pleasant vacation experiences ever! Narrow Escape provided just the right vibe for some low key time with my husband and friends, as well as a more lively time with adult children and grandsons. Elberta is a perfect place to take in all the lovely sites & chase sunsets. Clark is a most excellent host and his connections in the community make the area feel almost like home.

Multigenerational family vacation

This house was perfect for our parent/teen/grandparent vacation! Easy access to Elberta and Frankfort beaches, biking trails, great restaurants, and many ice cream options. Property was exactly as listed and owner was awesome. Great place!

Excellent house and location

We love the area and the house was clean and well stocked. Awesome location - my preschooler loved being able to walk to the park after dinner. Plenty of dishes, sharp knives, cotton sheets, plenty of pillows and towels.

Perfect Getaway!

We had the best time at Clark’s home! Was so much fun and perfect for our 1 year old and 2 year old. They had plenty of room to run and play both inside and outside. Location was perfect and Clark was a great host! Definitely recommend staying here to anyone!

Great experience and awesome accommodations!

We had a great stay at this property and it was the best place we've rented in the area over the past 10 years we've been coming here. My only wish was for better pillows, sheets, comforters but I was glad I didn't have to bring them all for the beds (which I've had to do in the past). The owner was very communicative and friendly and did everything possible to make our stay a great one. Highly recommend!

Two small families

The house was a great fit for all of us. We like to share a house with a couple who also has a daughter the same age as ours when visiting the area. It’s a nice quiet location close to beaches, parks and biking trails. I loved having amenities to get us through a week and the beds were comfortable for us. The house is beautiful and we loved staying here.

Inclement weather, but comfortable stay!

The weather didn’t cooperate for our vacation, but where we stayed did! We were pleased with the cleanliness and comfort of our rental. It was situated across the bay from Frankfort and was very close to some of the highlights of the northwestern Michigan area. We were able to keep in touch with Clark Most, the owner, who, by the way, is an excellent photographer!

Another awesome stay!

Clark' s home is clean & offers great location to Betsie lake, Elberta Beach, and town of Frankfort & Frankfort Beach. Its in a quiet neighborhood yet walking distance to the new Furnace Street distillery with pizza food truck & amphitheater on Betsie Lake with music on Mondays. Only a 5 min drive to Frankfort its a great place. Communication with owner is great, home has everything as described in listing. Lots of local areas to fish nearby too! This is our 4th time staying here and we would stay again.

Wonderful Experience

You will be so happy that you picked this gem of place in Elberta to book your stay! This house is super clean, had everything that we needed and it was decorated so beautifully. Simply put wow! Just right for our purpose. Explored area. Found great restaurants. Played table games . Together we intentionally pulled together memories of parents’ and family’s lifeline in written form with goal of passing it on to our children.

Hidden Gem

We travel up to the Frankfort area frequently but have never stayed in Elberta. We loved our stay. The cottage is a short walk to the waterfront park and just a little farther to bluffs overlooking Lake Michigan. The home is nicely renovated with a mid century modern vibe. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was large with stackable washer/dryer. Stainless steel appliances. Grill and fire ring in the yard. Clark was very great to work with and we will be back.

Great house!

We really enjoyed our stay at Clark's house. The photography of his was beautiful! The house was clean and spacious and Clark was very helpful when we had a TV issue during our stay. Elberta itself was a little underwhelming (we had never been there before) but we love nearby Frankfort and exploring the Sleeping Bear area so this house was perfect and affordable for us as a home base. We had plenty of kitchen supplies for making a big breakfast before being gone all day; we used the grill a few times and we really enjoyed the private yard and firepit for Smore's every night. My only suggestion is to perhaps upgrade the towels. :) Other than that, really great spot and we'd stay there again when we're in the area! Thanks!

Clark and Lynne Most:
We are graphic designers who live in Midland, MI and run a graphic design business called 'Design Direction, LLC' . Clark also is a professor at Central Michigan University where he teaches graphic design.
We have three children, 2 cats and a chihuahua and have been enjoying our trips to the Frankfort area for about 15 years.

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade

The location is just one block off the main road in Elberta that goes to the beach and i love the bluff area directly behind the house. I also like the Elberta side of Betsie Bay because it is quieter than the north side, although less "upscale". The rental has a great location being close to the bike trails, Trick dog coffee house, Elberta Park and Elberta beach on Lake Michigan.
