The River House Getaway! Come Relax and Enjoy!

What a wonderful property located at This non smoking property is an all brick ranch located across the street from the Piankatank River with super views as well as access to a small sandy beach. The River House is 2000 sf and can accomodate up to 8 guests. Enjoy the Canoe, play some ping pong, relax in the sun room, go fishing, or just do nothing at all! Bedroom number 1 has a queen size, Bedroom number 2 has a Full and a set of Bunk Beds, Bedroom 3 is the Master with a Queen and private full bath. The Kitchen has all Cherry cabinets and stainless steel appliances. The River House has central heat and air as well as brand new double hung windows. The Dining area has an awesome view of the river with a bay window that can let in River Breezes!
Don't Forget about the best room in the house on the end...The Sunroom; ideal for relaxing, watching a movie, or taking a nap!

Easy access to America's historical triangle of Yorktown, Williamsburg, and Jamestown. Duke of Gloucester Street (featuring the Williamsburg Taverns - King's Arms; Christiana Campbell's and Shields Taverns) 58 min. Yorktown (Riverwalk Resturant is our favorite there) 36 min; Urbana (Urbana Oyster Festival is Nov 2-3, 2012) 34 min; Gwynn's Island (Gwynn's Island Festival June 28-29, 2013) 24 min; Deltaville (Cocomo's Resturant) 22 minutes; Mathews Courthouse (Mathews Market Days Sept 7-8, 2012) 20 min; Our favorite pottery is The Poddery (Owned and operated by Robert and Karen Podd) in Foster 14 min; Gloucester Courthouse (Daffodil Festival April 6-7, 2013) 20 min. Holly Hill Antiques on Route 14 - 11 minutes; Mathews Courthouse has a farmer's market on Main Street each Saturday morning. Favorite grocery store - Food Lion in Mathews Courthouse. Favorite fresh vegetables -Ware Neck Produce in Gloucester Courthouse. Wines come from Kelsick Specialty Market in Gloucester CH (they'll also order any wine you want). ABC stores in Gloucester CH, Mathews CH and Deltaville. Best fried seafood is Seabreeze on Gwynn's Island. Closest pizza - Stan Strings - Cobbs Creek 10 min. We also love the Crazy Crab Resturant in Reedville (1 hour).
They just opened a BREWERY on Main Street Gloucester court house!! Hooray!

We so appreciated our stay in this comfy home filled with everything you need! The kitchen is filled with all the cooking necessities needed, so many comfortable places to relax and unwind and the view is wonderful too!

Hidden gem in a secluded part of VA

This was the perfect home for our family who was visiting Deltaville for a memorial service for our grandfather. Everything was great and the house was clean and well appointed.

Lovely Stay

We were in the area for the Tour de Chesapeake in Mathews, and this house was just a short drive away. The description is spot on. The house is large with plenty of space for guests to spread out if needed. The interior of the home was super clean and well stocked. There are ample linens, towels and kitchenware, and there are a number of games. We really enjoyed playing ping pong and looking out the window at the water. The place is very private and quiet.

Family Wedding

Absolutely wonderful layout for family. The space is very open and inviting. House supplied nicely with linens, kitchen supplies etc. Very nice water access for kayak or canoe. Can't wait to go back.

Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful time canoeing/kayaking, fishing, biking, and hanging out. The beds were comfortable and the home was clean. 100% recommend.

Nice house with lots of room

This is a very nice house with a lot of room. We enjoyed the tiny beach area across the street. Unfortunately there was a lot of jellyfish so no swimming. The only thing that was a little weird was the abandoned house right behind us with 4 strathehouse with 4 stray cats.

Our short stay

We came to Gloucester to help a friend out- and a few of us went to the quilt show in Hampton. House was perfect size for 6 adults to stay. Waking up seeing the river was a great start for the day. House was clean and as advertised. We will stay here again!

Perfect for a Williamsburg getaway

The place was perfect for us. It was close enough to the theme parks while far enough away from the main tourist areas to experience some local flair. I loved sitting on the side porch in the evening and listening to the frogs.

Family getaway

This was a great place to meet up with family to enjoy a few days together. The house was well stocked with what we needed to just visit and be together. A very remote area but not a difficult drive to sight see and find things to do in Yorktown, Jamestown, VA Beach and Williamsburg.

Peaceful

We loved the house. It had a nice view of the river and was located in a very quiet and peaceful area. It was nice to be able to go out and do all the touristy things and then be able to come back and relax at the house. It had everything you would need and we cooked out on the grill a few times which was nice. The owners were very helpful when the power went out and kept us updated when it would most likely be back on. I would definitely recommend this lovely home for anyone planning on visiting the area.

We stayed here and helped out a friend that got married on Gwynns Island. Accommodations were everything we needed and more. Liked the location in a quiet neighborhood. There were 3 couples and we had plenty of room.

Great Getaway

The River House Getaway is a fantastic location with beautiful views of the Piankatank river and lots of space. The house was clean, stocked with towels and linens and kitchen cookware we needed. The hosts were great to work with! We really enjoyed our stay there.

Love staying here - in the same neighborhood as our family river house so it’s a great resource for extended family to be just a mile away. Love the proximity and amenities!

We thought we were going to see a small home in need of repair but instead we saw a wonderful place that has a personality all its own! Something about being away from the City lights really can do wonders for the soul! We have enjoyed the River House for several years now and hope you find it as relaxing as our family does!
