House was very nice. Plenty of room for the 5 of us. Kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. Pool was awesome. The short walk to the beach was perfect.

Excellent Location!

I can't say enough about the location of this property. Only a few steps away from the beach. We spent a lot of time outdoors whether we were on the covered front deck or floating in the pool. Also close to lots of shopping options.

Exactly as advertised and a great location

I had a little trouble with the door code but that was quickly resolved. The location is perfect with a direct view of the ocean. The pool is large. The room are spacious and honestly the kitchen had everything we needed.

Wish vacation was longer!

The house was bigger than we anticipated. Distance to the beach was way shorter then expected also! Pool area was way bigger than expected. Overall enjoyed the property and wouldnā€™t hesitate to book again.

Great location. Awesome pool

The house itself was clean and adequate for what we needed. The location was outstanding. Directly across the street from the beach and a public walkway to the ocean. Maybe a one minute walk from the porch to the sand. The pool is probably the best of any beach rental house that Iā€™ve stayed at. Itā€™s larger than it looks in the pictures and the seating areas were a great place to relax and beat the heat. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice deck. Liked the pool. Enjoyed our stay. Not sure about the door locks. We enjoyed sitting and eating on the deck but unable to find a way to keep the door unlocked so we didn't have to use the code all the time.

Relaxing Beach House!

My family enjoyed our stay at this property. It was huge enough to make everyone feel comfortable. The biggest perk was the close proximity to the beach. We loved the private pool and grill area in the back yard. It was nice to be able to sit on the front porch and see and hear the ocean. The owner was very responsive to our issue the first day with the TV not working. He quickly resolved the issue. I would recommend this house for anyone who wants a nice family vacation rental.

Great house in a pinch

We had a party of 10 arrive in Myrtle Beach, 4 adults and 6 kids, when we found out the resort room we originally booked was no longer available. Never stay at Caribbean Resort Myrtle Beach, BTW! It was 6:30 pm on July 4 and we had to find a place to stay for the week. We quickly searched VRBO and found this listing available on July 5. After a quick talk with our group, we booked the house. It was a vacation saver! Brian was extremely responsive and helpful. The size of the house was great for our group. We loved the private outdoor pool and the walking proximity to the beach was perfect. Total game changer for our trip. Talk about turning lemons into lemonade.

I cannot recommend this property enough. We could have been there without a vehicle and been completely fine! Everything you need is right there! Super short walk to the beach, wonderful pool, outdoor grilling station! I seriously canā€™t even explain it. The host, Brian is amazing! He was super responsive and incredibly accommodating! The local caretaker, Don is pretty awesome too! He was so friendly and responsive! There was plenty of room for my crowd. Everyone was comfy! Like I said, try it out! You wonā€™t be disappointed!

An absolute nightmare - stay far away from this owner and his rentals

I donā€™t think Iā€™ll have enough room to explain everything, but we went this past weekend to celebrate my sister getting married and it was an absolute nightmare. We were devastated and this celebration was ruined. The beds were disgusting with stains and were very dingy. There was no air conditioning, ants everywhere (even in the beds), the locks would not unlock using the code so we had to leave the door cracked since it would lock automatically and we got locked out multiple times, there was cockroaches everywhere inside and outside so we couldnā€™t enjoy the pool and then there was a mouse in the pool. We also couldnā€™t use the kitchen sink because it was pushed out of the counter. We were in constant communication with the owner for the first 24 hours who kept saying he would see what he could do, and nothing was fixed. An HVAC guy came and put a few window units into a few bedrooms but it was nowhere near enough and any time spent in the house was miserable. We did our best to spend our time elsewhere. I will never use Vrbo again.

Almost perfect

The house had plenty of space for everyone and was right across the street from the beach access. We really enjoyed the pool and the grill area. It is an older house but for the most part it seemed relatively clean. On the 2nd to last full day my son told me he saw a rat run across the floor and go under the dishwasher. I messaged the owner and he said he would send someone right away. The next night we all saw two rats run out from under the couch into the kitchen. I again messaged the owner. He said he had sent someone the day before to set traps. When we opened up the sleeper sofa to make sure there was nothing else, there were rat droppings all inside of it. We felt pretty disgusted because we had been sitting on that couch all week. We also had been preparing food in the kitchen and using the dishes in the cabinets. The house would have been perfect if it weren't for this pretty major downfall. I would recommend this house if they can get the rodent problem under control.

What a waste of a beach house!

To start off the pictures looked fine. The price was very affordable and it had enough bedrooms so no one in our group had to sleep in the same bed, plus it is very convenient to the ocean. Brian was very responsive every time I emailed him. BUT! It all changed when we got there. First thing when we walked in the door found out we had no tv!! Then found the dish washer not working. On top of that it was very run down and did not match the pictures on the internet. We were there about 20 minutes and a woman from the cleaning agency showed up to do a look around (@ 4:30 after our check in time). Said she's had a problem with her employees saying there cleaning but not doing anything. So sure enough we had to wait on her to clean the whole place. Then a Sears guy came to fix the dish washer as we were leaving to go to the beach. So we waisted an hour waiting on him. Then as we were going to dinner later that night a cable guy showed up and we had to wait on him to fix the tv. Was very frustrating to have to take care of someone else's problems on my vacation. I didn't expect a refund but a discount would have been nice, he didn't even offer as much as advice. Just excuses! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. No matter what. The only reason I gave it two stars is because he was very responsive to the emails. P.S the wifi is impossible to use, will just lock your phone up!

Perfect Get-Away

We just recently stayed at this property and were very pleased with our stay. Brian was excellent to work with and answered all questions and met every need we had in a very efficient manner. The close proximity to the beach and the private pool were awesome. This was a very nice section of beach and close to grocery stores shops and restaurants. The house has sufficient room for several to stay and we highly recommend. We hope to be able to get back to this property again. Thanks for making out stay si wonderful.

I was pleased with the property.

I would make a few changes, such as let the renters know to supply bed linens. The photos make you think it's included but we got there and had to purchase sheet sets for the beds. That was an expense I could have done without. We also has difficulties with the lock box on the front door. None of the codes worked and had to get the company to come let us in. The company did come quickly and took care of the problem. The carpets needed a good shampoo or changed. One big thing my children had a problem with was the cable TV did not work. One TV allowed 3 channels while another TV had a completely different set of channels that would work. We finally figured it out and used different TV's to watch different channels. Once we got the minor stuff taken care of the first day the rest of the week was great. It was the perfect location across the street from the beach which is exactly what I was looking for. The room sizes were comfortable. The kitchen had everything I needed to cook which was a plus so we didn't have to spend money going out to eat the entire week. Over all we had a nice week other than the weather being cold the house was nice.

We really enjoyed our stay at Southern Proper. Great location, close to town and only steps to the beach. I appreciated the fact that the owner worked with me on the dates of my stay. The house had plenty of room and nice updates. The porch is bigger than the picture so it was great to use with the family. I will definitely stay here again!
