Possibly the best location on Paw Paw Lake with dramatic views of the lake itself and Sherwood Bay looking westward across the lake. Enjoy a vacation with friends and family on Paw Paw Lake, the largest all sports inland lake in Southwest Michigan. Relax on the deck overlooking the lake, take a relaxing swim in the sandy bottom lake off your private pier, enjoy a game of shuffleboard in the yard near the waters edge, or just enjoy the sunset over the lake from your ideal western exposure. The portable fire pit at the waters edge is a fun place to story tell and catch up.

An 18-hole golf course is located on the lake and tennis is nearby.

The cottage is two hours from Chicago and Detroit; 15 minutes from South Haven; 10 minutes from Lake Michigan.

Beautiful views and a cozy, on-the-lake cottage. I would definitely recommend this location. The owners were kind and responsive. My kids loved fishing and swimming off the dock, and were even visited by a bevy of swans on our last evening.

This was one of the best vacations I have taken in a long time! Having grown up on this lake it brought back so many memories and now created so many more for myself and my child. The house and lake/dock were perfect. Sunset views were amazing! I couldn’t have asked for anything more. Check in and communication with the owner was friendly, easy and efficient. Needed internet access for work and had great service.

Wonderful Getaway

My husband and I rented this cottage for a 5-day getaway. We’re from New York City and needed a break from our busy schedules. This was exactly the right place! First off, this cottage has a spectacular view of the lake. We watched the sunset every evening, one more beautiful than the next. The cottage is close to a grocery store and we cooked our meals and enjoyed eating/grilling them on the deck. The cottage itself is modest but has all the comforts of home: spacious kitchen, living room, bedrooms. The sun room was our favorite hang out when we weren’t outdoors. There’s only one full bathroom, and it’s tiny, but we made it work. The shower always had plenty of hot water and the sunlight makes it bright and cheery. The cottage has some family heirloom furniture that includes great mid-century modern pieces! We loved the feeling of “being home” rather than being in a hotel. Lastly the owner was lovely to deal with - he was communicative, thorough, responsive, and informative. As my husband and I said when we drove away to go home - “we’ll be back!”

nice place on the lake!

owner is very helpful and communicative. house is dated but nice and clean for the age. The 5 seasons room makes the house wonderful. all the cupboards in the kitchen are full so bring own totes or storage/shelving system. 2 full size refrigerators is very nice. We enjoyed are stayed and plan to return!

Paw Paw Lake

The front room facing the lake was wonderful with wall to wall windows. I loved sitting out there at sunset watching the boats go by. The sand bottom lake was good for swimming with a ladder off the pier for easy access. The beds were comfortable and each room had a wall a/c unit. The kitchen was well stocked. Parking was challenging with room (barely) for three cars. I don't think it has been updated for over 20 years - the floor linoleum was cracked and chipped, and the furniture was vintage 50's. But it was comfortable and the views were wonderful.

This home was perfect for my family getaway. Had everything we needed to accommodate a family of 3 including a 2 year old. Geoff was great at answering any questions as well as providing recommendations for the area. We will definitely return next summer!

Nice getaway

Owner was a pleasure to work with and responsive to my last minute inquiries before our trip began and even during our stay. The property is just as described and was perfect four our party of 8 (4 adults and 4 kids, 5-8 yrs old). We also took advantage of Hagar Beach for a day which was a very short drive away.

Perfect Location

Amazing location on the lake! West facing for premium sun, swimming and fishing. Geoff was wonderful to work with and very accommodating. Cute cottage, only recommendations would be updated pots/pans, silverware, mattresses and linens. Bathrooms are rustic but usable. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

We had a great time. The location is great. The only downside was the furniture, beds, etc were old and not all the beds had mattress pads.

Nice place

Nice place, nice time with family. Unit is well stocked except, somewhat strangely, no towels. Just bring from home when you come. Nice lake + pier, wish we had a boat. Renting one was prohibitively expensive. It's setup well for a family where groups don't mind sharing a couple bedrooms with queen & king in same room. But these are 3 BR homes, so that's the only way to get a larger family in one spot. We had 4 adults & 4 kids. I wound up sleeping on couch which was ok for me, not so much for cousin on other couch. Overall good experience, good value and very good owner. Best recommendation was my sister saying it was a good place and we should rent again next year.

Beautiful setting

The property had a quiet setting and the porch was perfect for morning coffee! There was plenty of open space for us all. We were very comfortable and had everything we needed. Geoff was amazing and checked in with us here and there. Cottage was a classic old school cottage and we felt right at home.

Pleased teenagers

Took my kids and a group of their friends away to forget about the new normal. The setting was ideal....lots of swimming and plenty of outdoor space for activities (spikeball, corn hole, wiffle ball, shuffleboard and KanJam)

Great Place To Stay on Paw Paw Lake

This rental cabin worked perfectly for our family. This is a true old-school cabin along the south shore of Paw Paw Lake. The setting is gorgeous and there is more room here than appears from the listing. Incredible sun porch overlooking the Lake. Kids loved the lakeside shuffle board and weed-free swimming off the dock. Very nice neighbors in a very unique neighborhood. We are frequent Michigan renters and found this to be among our favorites!

Great location, GREAT host... just needs a thorough clean

We loved the location. The front room and patio were great for hanging out by the lake. Geoff was awesome... great communication the whole time. The only complaints: The bedrooms need a serious cleaning. A ton of dust behind the headboards (found while looking for an outlet), and some unwelcome 6-8 legged guests. Also, bring your own towels as there aren't any available. The place is a classic family lake house. Would've given it 4-5 stars, but it just needs a really really good cleaning for the cost per night.

Fun Family Vacation!

We have been staying at this rental property for 9 years and have been extremely happy with it. This house enables our entire family/extended family to stay under one roof and we never feel like we are crowded. It has beautiful views of the lake from the spacious deck, a large frontage area where our kids have made many memories playing with their cousins. The owner is always receptive and prompt to take care of any issues that should arrive--which in the 9 years we have been there, there have not been many. We hope to be able to continue to make this our summer vacation rental for several more years to come.
