The Griswold Vacation Home
The owner of this property is a very lovely woman. She however did not list this home accurately. I do not know where to begin. Upon arrival we were told that the upstairs oven was not working but that we could use the downstairs oven. That would not have been a problem if the downstairs oven were clean. We opened the oven and it was filthy. There was no way I would put food in it. The pictures of this house are not at all accurate. The surfboard bedroom does not exist. Instead there was a jungle room that had 2 twin beds and one dresser. The dresser had broken handles and there were stickers from clothing on it as well as writing. The princess room was not as shown either. There was no canopy bed. The carpet was very stained. The Master bedroom was similar to the photo but not the same. It was listed as a king size bed and it was in fact a queen. It had a bathroom that had very outdated cabinets that we would not put any of our items in. It did have a Jacuzzi tub but we did not use it. The living room was probably the cleanest room however the carpet was in need of cleaning. The bedroom off of the living room had a full size bed. There were no trundle beds in this room. It had stickers of moneys on the wall and an old worn out dresser. The kitchen was probably the nicest part of the house. It's a shame that the oven was not working but we were understanding of that as sometimes things happen that are beyond ones control. The Great Room would have been nice as well as the dining room if there were clean carpet and clean furniture. The couch was stained and broken as well as all of the dining chairs. Downstairs boasts of a theatre room which was basically a sofa and a large screen TV. The weight room was just some old equipment in the corner of the smelly basement. There was also a bedroom and a bathroom down there and a play room all of which could not be utilized. The outside was just as run down as the inside of the house. The deck was in need of paint. There were many bees nests which made sitting outside uncomfortable. The patio furniture was old and dirty. The grill was not maintained either. Then there was the pool house that was an old trailer. It was offered as a room and another living area however the smell inside was unbearable. We had to purchase air mattresses as we did not have enough beds for our party of 19. We also purchased a toaster and a coffee machine as they did not have these items. I have run out of room to finish my review.
