Two great towns, one great location

Welcome to Heavener Hill, your nature filled relaxation destination.
At Heavener Hill your vacation can be as fun filled or as relaxing as you wish. We are centrally located between Holland and Saugatuck offering both charming towns within a few minutes’ drive, including shopping, beaches, restaurants, bars, go karts, dunes rides, and much more. The house is located in Lake Town Township. A very quaint area that includes 7 local parks that allow splendid nature walks, play areas, catch and release fishing, Frisbee golf, and much more. About a quarter of a mile down the road is the spacious bike path that leads to Saugatuck or Holland, depending on which way you head. The path is great for family bike rides, walks and running.
At Heavener Hill you have privacy on 10 acres that include a generous yard for room to play those memory making games of football, ladder ball or corn hole (which are waiting for you during your stay) and some great woods for your peaceful walks or your little explorers. For those nights of roasting marshmallows or a couple drinks around the fire, please enjoy our fire pit. No worries, we have plenty of wood for your time with us. While enjoying the outdoor seating area, you may spy some great nature. We commonly see humming birds, bluebirds, squirrels, chipmunks, but will also turkey, deer, fox, hawks, and the occasional bald eagle. There is plenty of outside parking as well.

In 2017, we lifted the 1890 house and added a lower level. It was an amazing process and we hope you enjoy it. It includes 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, and kitchenette with microwave and dishwasher. Heavener Hill has 5 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. The upstairs bedrooms consists of 1 queen, 1 full, bunk beds with a pull out trundle. There is also a queen pull out, full pull out and futon. In the lower level, we have 2 queen bedrooms and a queen pull out. The baths include tub/shower combo upstairs, shower with bench downstairs and a tub/shower combo downstairs. All the towels and linens are provided. All you need to bring is a beach towel. We have all the amenities you will need for an amazing get away, especially with our fully equipped kitchen, outdoor eating area, large yard, and memories waiting to be made.

Beautiful & convenient location

The house was perfect for our group of 12! Everyone had a bed to sleep on and the house never felt cramped or crowded. The location was beautiful and super convenient. We were able to visit the beach and downtown Saugatuck without having to drove very far! Thanks for the great stay!

Vacation Heaven and Heavener Hill Farm

This property was perfect for our family vacation. The spacious house offered us time together and also privacy when we wanted. The separation of the bedrooms allowed the grand children to sleep while the adults continued to socialize. The fire pit was wonderful and the view of the stars exceptional. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed or wanted. Who could ask for more?

Highly would recommend this property!

We had a group of adults staying in town for a wedding. The property was secluded enough that we didn’t have to worry about keeping late hours and was also an easy and quick drive into town. The photos of the property don’t do it justice! We were greeted with farm fresh eggs and homemade cookies which was perfect considering we all were coming in from a last minute 10 hour drive due to cancelled flights. During our 2nd night the power went out due to a storm (all of Holland lost power, which rarely happens) and Diana was great to message us and make sure we were ok. The house was very spacious for us 5 couples with plenty of room for us to settle. This was a true home away from home and I would definitely stay again next time I’m in the area!

We had a blast!

The house was beautiful and clean and had so much space. My wedding party stayed here the weekend of my wedding, and we enjoyed every moment at the house. We were welcomed with a plate of delicious cookies and a bowl of fresh eggs in the fridge, which we enjoyed for breakfast one morning. The finished basement was gorgeous! Thanks again - We highly recommend Heavener Hill!

Wonderful Getaway! Great house with lots of extras provided!

Where do I begin?? Diana was always very quick to answer any and all communications. The property was EXACTLY as advertised and the pictures did not do it justice as the house was immaculate! We had a party of 9 which included myself, my wife, my 23 yr old twin boys, my 14 yr old twin boy and girl, one of my older son's girlfriend and each of my younger ones brought a friend. With the 2 levels, we were able to spread out when needed but living rooms on each level were big enough for us all when wanted to be together. There were enough bedrooms where everyone had plenty of room to sleep as well. With the sofa sleepers, we could have had a few more people there as well. We enjoyed a night out by the fire and the kids liked the rope swings. They could not find the paths down by the telephone poles but that was okay. Charcoal, lighter fluid provided made cooking out a breeze. The large table in the kitchen allowed us all to eat together which was very nice. The kids played board games they brought from home and also card games with the cards provided. My wife and I enjoyed the sitting area located off the kitchen for reading and talking in the beautiful Michigan weather. The location was close to everything as Holland and Saugatuck/Douglas were within a 15 min drive. We enjoyed downtown Holland and their activities (we had been there 2 years ago) but made our first venture to Saugatuck on this trip. We LOVED Saugatuck with its beauty and nice shops. Although the weather was only in low to mid 70's while we were there, it remained dry for a couple of days so we enjoyed a day at Oval Beach. It was less crowded due to the weather so that was a plus. It was a brisk 58 degrees in water but we went in anyway. It was sunny enough to get a few mild sunburns (LOL). All in all, the only bad thing is we didn't stay longer up here in Michigan. I would DEFINITELY recommend this property to friends and family (which I already have) and anyone who wants to be close to things but yet a little bit out by yourself. Thanks again to Diana for opening up this home and the many things provided both in the house and outside of it.

Great vacation!!!

Perfect house for our family vacation. Large property with trees, outdoor seating and rope swings. Comfortable rooms and plenty of restrooms for a family of six. Close 5 minute drive to the Michigan lake. Beautiful home! Thanks

Lovely home away from home

Diana was a great host We had everything that we needed. There was a nice surprise welcome package waiting for us when we arrived. The place was very clean. There was a little storm our last night and she called to make sure everything was fine. We are recommending this home to our family and friends. Thank you The Hass Family

A very lovely big home on a large wooded private property.

We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at Heavener Hill. We arrived to find a plate of cookies and fresh eggs in the fridge. This very spacious home really allowed our 4 couples to enjoy their rooms and all the common spaces. The kitchen lacked nothing. It was just like being at home. The pluses were games, grille with charcoal, fire pit and convenient location. It would be a great family reunion rental and great for kids. Also, Diana was very responsive to questions about booking and questions while we were on property. Thank you

Very lovely spacious comfortable home!

We had a wonderful time. Felt very welcome by the owner. Homemade cookies on arrival were nice! The house was very clean and spacious. All of the amenities were available. We had nice cozy feeling in the housel for Thanksgiving. The lower level was awesome. The men enjoyed watching football down there away from the women. !Lol! Overall very nice accommodations! Wouldn't mind returning for another family gathering.

The house was very roomy and clean. Diana, our hostess, thought of every amenity plus added a plate of cookies and a bowl of fresh eggs to welcome us. We would not hesitate to rent Heavner Hill in the future.

Truly a home away!

Our stay was so comfortable. Love the newly upgraded first floor. Full of amenities. We were welcomed to the home with an excellent plate of chocolate chip cookies and farm fresh eggs in the fridge. Really an amazing touch. We wish we could have stayed longer. We will be back!

Wonderful family weekend

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovey home. The property is beautiful for large groups, complete with a fire pit for s’mores and scary stories! Lots of space inside with a nicely equipped kitchen. If you want to experience the area, this is a perfect location, close to beaches, Saugatuck and Holland. Thanks to Diana for a wonderful time! It felt like “home!”

An Amazing Place to Stay

The house was everything I expected and then some. It was immaculate and well stocked. There was plenty of room for our group of 12 to spread out and feel comfortable. Everyone in our group agreed that the house made our vacation a very relaxing and fun experience for all! Having two kitchens was nice. We had plenty of room for food and cooking. Having two washers and dryers made it great for 4 families with young kids to share. The little side sitting room/play room was a great place for the kids to play and have their toys contained so the whole house didn't get too messy. There was a great supply of toys for the kids and outside yard games for all to enjoy. Sitting by the firepit was super relaxing. Over all, we had a great stay and would do it again in a heartbeat! Thank you for all of the attention to detail and the personal touches like home-made cookies and fresh farm eggs to make your home amazing!

Family Fun at Heavener Hill in Holland

Heavener Hill was fantastic for our family of 6 adults and 5 grandkids. There was so much space for all of us! I would definitely recommend this house to others for their stay in Holland. We took in the beach and dunes and the grandkids loved Tunnel Park with the playground. We used the fire pit for "pizza pies" and smores, which we all thought tasted the best ever! Clean, spacious, and great location

Diana was a great host - she provided a very clean and well-equipped home that provided lots of room for our family group of 8 adults, 4 young children and an infant. Plus, she was very responsive to any needs/requests we had. The upstairs kitchen was very well equipped including a large refrigerator; the lower kitchenette had a small refrigerator that we used for drinks. Plenty of parking, great toys inside for the kids, inside and outside seating, fire pit area were all assets. We love Lake Michigan, so were pleased that Laketown Beach was just 2 miles to the west, and was a great little beach (with a fun hike from the limited parking area to/from even with the littles). Most of our outings were there or to see extended family, but the whole area has much to offer - a great location! Thanks, Diana - the little ones call it Heaven-or-hill :)

This property was clean, spacious and comfortable.

We rented this property because of its close proximity to the Felt Mansion where our daughter had her wedding. The girls got ready at the home and it was perfect because it was so spacious and clean. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking and the beds were clean and comfortable. The mosquitoes were ferocious at night, but didn't bother at all during the day. There's a wonderful hidden gem of a beach about 2 or 3 minutes down the street-be prepared to climb steep stairs over the dune, but well worth it. Loved our stay!

beautiful home & property

THANKS so much for letting us use your comfortable & beautiful home!! Everythng was perfect & homey right down to cookies on the table & fresh eggs in the fridge!! & a few things we forgot were there as well so THANK YOU for having such a greatly equipped home!! Which is in such a quiet pretty setting surrounded by trees with the beach right down the road which we enjoyed seeing the sunsets then up early to see the moonsets over the lake...breathtakingly beautiful!!! We did a girls weekend & loved being out by the fire in the yard but because it was windy & cold we spent a lot of time talking around the wonderful big table in the kitchen... the house is perfect for relaxing in your own space or being together in the kitchen..living room or nice basement!! Its a whole other home in itself down there with lots of natural light .... perfect for a few families vacationing together!!! ( or nine of your favorite ladies :) ) although it was windy & freezing out that weekend we still ventured out to Holland to the little dutch village that is soo cute; stopped to see the tulips but because of the cold there were only a few kinds bloomed but the ones that were up & open were beautiful!! THANKS again for allowing us the pleasure of staying in your cozy comfy home & wander around your pretty paths & property!!!

Wonderful Family Get-Away

My family gathered at Heavener Hill for a weekend in April. We came to Holland for the Rend Collective Concert on Friday evening and were looking forward to a nice "Intro to spring get away". We were excited to hike on the property and explore parks in the area. Unfortunately, Michigan weather had other ideas and threw us an ice storm instead! BUT... I'm happy to report that the house was GREAT!!! We had plenty of room for the 12 of us to be inside the whole weekend. We enjoyed our time - even though we couldn't be outside. We plan to return in the future.

Great Christmas House

We rented Diana's home for our annual Christmas get together. It was a great spot that accommodated our group of 10. The property is quite nice and we got to celebrate in a white Christmas. Diana was very responsive and accommodating, even setting up their Christmas tree for us! Be aware though given it's location internet/WiFi can't handle streaming. Bring your favorite DVD's! Even with that, we would stay again.

Clean, very nice updated basement, and plenty of space for our group

Our group of 8 adults, 2 kids and 1 infant thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Heavener Hill is a beautiful property and just far enough away for some privacy without being far from our weekend wedding activities in Holland. There were enough bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone to be comfortable. We spent a lot of time in the kitchen gathered around the table. We took a walk on the property and enjoyed the woods. The farm fresh eggs and cookies were a real treat! My apologies for forgetting to move the rocking chair back into the living room. It worked like a charm to rock the baby in the night and was an oversight to not move it back. Thank you!

Heavener Hill is located at 6362 142nd Avenue Holland MI 49423.​ Heavener Hill was brought to the public in 2013 but was brought to life many years ago. My name is Diana Heavener-Robertson. I am a lifetime resident of the area. In fact, Heavener Hill is my childhood home. Approximately 125 years ago Heavener Hill was the home of Swedish immigrants that started a turkey farm. When those immigrants pass away, their son sold the property in 1968 to Dennis and Jan Heavener, my parents. My childhood, many family and friends gatherings, and great memories were all part of this property. I married my husband Kent Robertson in 2002. Our first son Eli was born in 2005 and our second son Aden was born in 2007. My mother, Jan, passed in 2005 and my father, Dennis, in 2013. I just could not see selling this home and beautiful property. I wanted to see other families to be able to make great memories here also. With the help of my uncle, husband, and sons, we bring to you Heavener Hill.
