A great bike ride to everything

This modest but pleasant and clean property is perfectly located to make biking on Jekyll convenient to the long distance and short trip rider. We will book again.

Lovely Beach Getaway!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We’ve stayed at this rental for 7 years now. The location is excellent! However, “newly updated” is a stretch in the property description. There’s been little to no maintenance done on the home in the years we’ve been coming. It fine, but “newly remodeled” should be taken out of the description. We never know from year to year what kitchen supplies will be there, so we bring a lot of our own. The property was much cleaner this year than the previous year, which we were all happy about. Overall, the location is perfect, so we will continue to come back!

It was darker than we prefer but that we could live with. The air handler moans loudly several times a day. Jekyll Realty took care of us once we told them, as they have done for 35 years now. We moved to Blissful Oaks, which is very nice. No complaints here. Stick with Jekyll Realty, they take care of their customers. JEKYLLONMYMIND all the time. Thanks Jekyll Realty!!

We were able to get into the house a little early and the staff was fantastic at letting us know right away when the house was ready to go. Our only complaint was the house was rather dirty at check in. There was a strong odor in the living room and a significant amount of pet hair on the furniture and the floors were very sandy and had a lot of pet hair.

We'll be staying in this unit for the next month, On arrival everything was nice lights on A/C going so far we're enjoying it very much I was reading the reviews and one specific finger prints on glasses my solution is wash all the dishes. We love Jekyll we have been coming to this island for 36 years.

Overall good experience and stay. The master bathroom shower had a lot of black mold around the bottom, also roach feces on the fireplace mantle. We found some beer bottle tops under the side table from a previous guest as well. Small inconveniences but the location was perfect and very quiet. Would rent again.

If we’re not on the beach we’re on the screened in porch, enjoying the sounds of the waves and the visiting deer. The living room is a good size, but that’s not what I go to the beach for: The bathrooms and kitchen have been updated. Limited storage in the kitchen for a long stay.

Wonderful Stay at Brice Lane Cottage

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Enjoyed our stay immensely. Cottage is comfortable and very close to beach access. Very clean on arrival. Once again blessed by regular visits from feral cats (Robin, Ginger & Greyfox) and local deer. Jekyll Realty promptly responded when we needed a light fixture replaced. No complaints except when we had to leave.

Great location, not so great house

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location is very good, being just steps away from the beach access trail and a short drive to excellent dining. On entering the house we immediately noticed a distinct musty odor. Being surrounded by large bushes, the house was dark and a bit gloomy, an impression enforced by the yellowish wall color throughout the house. The bathmats were stained and worn and the shower curtain was moldy. Kitchen was reasonably well equipped and the bed was comfortable. The small living room was packed with furniture - a sofa, two overstuffed chairs with hassocks, a wicker chair with hassock, a second wicker hassock, five tables and a drop-front desk. Clear out the living room, paint the walls white, get new bath mats,trim the vegetation and this house would be much nicer. The Jekyll Island Realty people were great and the overall rental experience was very good.

August 2019 Stay

Jekyll Island Realty was very efficient and well organized. We will not hesitate to use them again on our next trip to Jekyll. However, the house was not as great. On arrival we immediately noticed a musty odor as if the house had been shut up for a while. Also, the moldy shower curtain, badly worn and stained shower mats and tippy toilet did not help to form a good first impression. The house is surrounded by tall vegetation which lends it a dark and claustrophobic air. The furnishing are comfortable if dated. The small living room is crowded with two over-stuffed armchairs and hassocks, a large sofa, a wicker arm chair with hassock, another wicker hassock, five tables, and a drop front desk. We had to wash some of the glasses due to visible fingerprints. The location is excellent being near the beach access path and a short drive to great restaurants. Cut some of the shrubbery to let light in, paint the walls white, clear out the living room, get new bathmats and this house would be much nicer.

Wonderful Locatiion but Thorough Cleaning Required

Disliked intensely the unclean condition of the floors and cupboards upon arrival. Had to spend the first few days cleaning the house to enjoy living there. Not how one wishes to spend the previous days of one's vacation. Strongly recommend that property management company ensure place is properly cleaned before renters arrive - and that means washing the floors and removing old caked on food on cooking utensils.

July 2018 Stay

We had a wonderful 2 week stay on Jekyll! At this point in the summer, the rental is in need of a good cleaning and basic maintance on small items. The floors and exterior doors were extremely dirty. We were happy to see the mattress in the master had been updated since last year. Much more comfy! Can't wait to return to our Happy Place!
