Located at the Villas by the Sea Resort, you will have access to the community pool, kids play area, volleyball court, fitness center and boardwalk to the beach behind the Rockerfeller Building. Villas by the Sea has 3 coin-operated laundry rooms accessible with your key cards.


Nearest Beach Boardwalk Crossover: Villas by the Sea South end crossover behind Rockefellar and Stanton buildings.

I enjoyed my stay very much, I was there to take my son on a fishing trip along with a friend of mine. The only thing is there should be some maps of the island and the amenities that is provided. Additionally there should be a pass for laundry as it’s hard to find quarters on a Sunday morning. But I had a good time so much so that I do plan to come back.

We have stayed at the Villas each time as you can walk to the beach and have all the items of home. So you can just sit back and relax. Safe and Quiet.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo badly needs an update. Furniture is worn out, carpets are stained, mildew in the bathroom and on the shower curtain, sticky surfaces, etc. I cleaned the kitchen myself when we arrived.

Fabulous once construction work is done!

We loved the unit, but the beach is under construction and the headquarters of the project is right outside your window. Dump trucks and huge equipment running from 7am to 7pm. We were not informed of this and spoke with realtor about it with very little satisfaction. The listing says “limited beach access”, but there is zero access at this time. When the project is over ( The construction crew told us it would be September at the earliest), it will be a great place to go.

Reviewer Comments: Never been so disappointed in a place at the beach!!!!!I booked this place for a reunion of sisters and cousins driving from 4 to 7 hrs for a relaxing weekend ON THE BEACH TO SIT ON THE BEACH & SWIM IN THE OCEAN!!!!!!Upon arrival was told that all the boardwalks were closed EXCEPT the one right by our unit.We arrived at the unit to find out that the boardwalk was closed, boarded off with NO ACCESS TO THE BEACH!The unit itself was nice with the exception of it being a 2nd story entrance (was not aware of this initially). A couple of the girls are considered handicap when it comes to stairs. The keys did not work upon our arrival and had to wait in the heat and one guest almost passed out due to being overheated. After getting her in the unit to lay down she recovered after a couple of hours in bed. Your maintenance guy Allan was helpful and very courteous. The toilet in the downstairs bathroom did not flush properly.The screen door in the master bedroom upstairs was cut down the middle and could not be used.We planned and waited on this trip since last year and to have it turn out to be this way actually made me cry as I picked it and told my sisters and cousins it would be magnificent! NOT!!!! The island is beautiful! We would like to come back but probably would not due to this bad experience!Sincerely,Heartbroken, Martha Graves & guest

Had planned to fish on the beach but could not access due to erosion. This was never brought up by property management. 2 roaches in the twin BR first 3 hours after arrival. Lots of crumbs on and under the pull out sofa bed. Kitchen was very well stocked but had NO pot holders. Instructions were to have all dishes and kitchen equipment stored with DW empty. A $200 cleaning fee should cover this. With 4 kids eating breakfast and having to be out by 10 am this was a challenge. No grill so all cooking was done inside. The AC was marginal. The upstairs (3rd floor) never cooled off. the unit ran the entire time we were there. The AC vent in the twin room is under the bed making it difficult to cool the room. No washer /dryer. For $1362 or $454/night I thought this would be a given. The available washer and dryer across the dog walk area would only take quarters. How many of us vacation with a roll of quarters?

We had a wonderful stay at the condo. It had everything we needed. It was our first visit to Jekyll Island and definitely a learning experience. However, it was nice to have a comfortable place to rest our heads after our adventures.

May 2024 Stay

We were supposed to stay in Villa 354 which we’ve enjoyed in the past but two weeks prior we were switched to 504 due to 354 selling. We were not pleased at all. The furniture and carpet is so old, dingy, stained, and just looked bad. We saw a large rat our second night. The lamp was broken in one of the rooms and just various other things. It definitely needs updating. The cleaning crew seemed to do fine and the view from porches is great. We called Jekyll Realty after we saw the rat and they responded immediately. They did a fantastic job working with us to accommodate all our preferences and found us another rental accommodating our length of stay, the number of rooms/bathrooms, and my desire for a good view of the ocean. We ended up in a fantastic rental house. Even though Villa 504 was a bad experience. Jekyll Realty more than made up for it with their kind/patient service and our new rental. We will use them again.

Reviewer Comments: Although the property was a bit dated space wise it was adequate for our family. The A/C basically stopped working the last three days of our stay. Maintenance reviewed the unit but didn’t resolve the problem and no further action was taken to get us a working unit.

Corporate retreat

Check in was easy. Everyone was very polite and helpful. Kitchen was very well supplied. Was awesome to be able to see and hear the ocean waves from inside. View was amazing.

Showers had mold. AC didn’t work. Bad experience.

We stayed 1 night and wound up paying to stay elsewhere. We contacted the property management company as there were mold in the shower and the AC wasn’t working but they didn’t seem to care. We wound up packing our family back up and paying to stay across the island. My kids were devastated. I have stayed with Jekyll realty many times but never again. They are a money pit. When I checked in they didn’t even ask my name or for ID and just handed me the keys.

But the rooms were dirty! Bed was made up with sheets that were not changed. You could tell someone had slept on the sheets before us. Another bed had blood stains on the mattress pad cover. Items left on kitchen counter, dishes were left in the dishwasher.

Great vacation for the family - from grandma to the teenagers

The 3 bedroom condo was very clean, well furnished, the beds were comfortable, and while I wasn't crazy about the flight of stairs to get to it; the views were amazing. I would highly recommend it. I will note this is an off-the-beaten track kind of place. I like that. I like the bicycles are right there to rent and sitting on the boardwalk during high tide. The beaches are clean and never too crowded. Whatever you do, visit the turtle rescue hospital and do a house tour.

June 2022 Stay

We had a wonderful stay at Villa 504! We've been staying at Villas by the Sea for many years and this has been by far our best stay. The condo was beautifully decorated and the beds were nice and comfy. The access to the beach boardwalk couldn't have been better, and the view...WOW! We have always stayed in the ocean view condos, but this one was breathtaking! The building location felt very private and quiet. We spent the evenings watching the large ships go by and enjoyed using a marine tracking app to see what each ship was carrying and its destination. So fun! Great family time and lots of laughs and good memories were had. We will most definitely stay in 504 again and can't wait until our next visit! Also had a great experience using Jekyll Realty. See you soon, Jekyll!
