Welcome to the Nation's Capital!
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION
Location is the name of the game, and that’s where we are champs! Check it out on the map — we are just steps from the U.S. Capitol.
This is a large, bright 1BR 1BA — not a basement — not a shared space — it's your 1000 sq ft private apartment with its own entrance and your intimate back yard.
Our convenient and safe location has an authentic neighborhood feeling. While staying here, you may run into your favorite (or not) politicians, as "those people" are our neighbors, and so we receive additional protection from the U.S. Capitol Police and their K-9s. But don't bring any treats for them, the dogs are always on the job!!
We are half a block (less than three minutes on foot) from the Metro, and are perfectly situated on the Orange, Blue, and Silver lines. You can take the Metro from either Reagan National or Dulles International airports!
We are walking distance to Nationals Stadium (10-15 minutes stroll — GO NATS!), Navy Yard, Eastern Market, restaurants, cafés, parks, a cozy old-fashioned movie theater, and much more.
*** We are fully inspected by the District of Columbia. We have a valid Certificate of Occupancy and current licenses. ***
If you drive here: Street parking is super restricted on our block. STREET PARKING PERMITS are REQUIRED. Contact us to arrange one. We charge a flat fee for arranging the permit, and YOU MUST CONTACT US AHEAD OF TIME. Sorry, we do NOT offer off-street parking.
Our space sleeps two comfortably. An additional single hotel-style roll-away bed is available (not an air bed) for a third registered guest or for those who prefer not to share the queen bed. A small set-up fee applies, and the roll-away bed MUST be requested at booking time. The sofa is not a sleeper-sofa, and we kindly ask guests not to sleep on it. PLEASE DO NOT GO UP THE SPIRAL STAIRS OUT BACK. This is our private space.

● Peaceful, large, newly carpeted bedroom with queen bed and extremely comfortable memory-foam mattress and pillows (several pillows are available)
● Smart Flat-Screen TV (Please note we do not have cable TV). You may use your favourite streaming service, such as Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon
● Complimentary super-fast WiFi for this unit only, not shared with anyone else. You're secure! NOTE: We change passwords often, so check the fireplace mantel for the current password
● Central A/C and heating, controlled by you
● Ceiling fans in living room and bedroom
● Tiled bathroom with large shower
● Large, fully equipped Kitchen with granite countertops
● Gas stove and oven
● Microwave
● Dishwasher (detergent provided)
● Toaster
● Electric kettle
● American drip-style and Italian moka coffee makers
● Hair Dryer and Curling Iron
● Iron and Ironing Board
● European-style washer/dryer (single unit) for small loads only (laundry detergent is NOT provided)

● Make-up remover and make-up towels. Dark pillowcases are available in the closet for your use
PLEASE NOTE: CHECK-IN TIME IS 3:00 pm. CHECK-OUT TIME IS 11:00 am. We can sometimes accommodate early check-ins or late check-outs, but we are very closely booked and often it's not possible. Please inquire as far in advance as possible, and we will gladly try to help you.
If you need to leave your luggage and we can't help you, there is a convenient business half a block away which charges a small fee for this service.
We take pride in providing a clean, clutter-free, updated space. If something breaks or doesn't work properly, please let us know.
Because we're so close to the Capitol, and the security situation has changed somewhat, we now require IDs upon reservation confirmation, for each guest. Only registered guests may stay. Please do not have parties.
We will accommodate only certified service animals, but we're sorry to say that other furry friends must stay home.
Book with confidence! A spotless flat has always be our primary goal and the reviews reflect our commitment: Read them yourself! The cleaning team have been with us for more than ten years, and are fully trained on the necessary steps for you to have a safe and comfortable stay. All surfaces (including linens) are cleaned with disinfectants. To limit contact with common surfaces, lights in common areas are motion-activated.
We don't allow smoking inside. You may smoke outside, and there are two seating areas: The front, which is good for people-watching, and the more intimate back patio. We do not provide ash trays.
For your safety and ours, there are exterior security cameras on our property. These cameras are registered with the Metropolitan Police, and, if lawfully requested by proper authority, we will allow video access. Of course, we respect your privacy, and there are no cameras of any kind inside the flat.

You don't need a car to explore the city, you may rent a bike for the day and cycle around. D.C. is one of the most bike-friendly cities in the country. There are two D.C. BikeShare stations within a block of our location.
If you use a car, please understand that parking on our block is heavily restricted and you risk being towed if you park without a permit. Please contact us to arrange a permit.
There's a gym, half a block away, that offers daily passes.
Nearby restaurants include local favorites Bullfeathers and Talay Thai. Beer, wine, and spirits are available for sale at several nearby locations.
Within a five-minute walking radius, you can find coffee shops (including Starbucks), banks, dry cleaner, liquor stores, groceries, pharmacies, a U.S. Post Office, and fine restaurants on Pennsylvania Avenue.
Within a 15-minute walk, you'll find Washington's famous Eastern Market, and hot Barracks Row restaurants — including a 2 Michelin-star restaurant. At Eastern Market you can find fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, cheese, and a bakery.
There’s also a public swimming pool, which charges a modest daily fee for visitors from out of town.
