Beautiful Villa

We loved our stay at Villa Mariposa. Communication was excellent with property managers. Mauricio was helpful in all questions we had and made recommendations we enjoyed. We all loved the pool and hot tub. Kitchen was well supplied with the things we needed. The maid service was so nice also, they did a great job. Thank you for a great relaxing vacation week!

We stayed here for my bachelorette trip and we loved it!! Such a great location and the owner was so responsive any time we needed a taxi or had a question. There was 12 of us and we had plenty of room! Highly recommend this place

Amazing and safe place!

I canā€™t recommend this place enough!! The concierge was so responsible, the maid service every day was great, and the chef service was wonderful. Great location - walking distance to downtown playa shopping or a short taxi ride away. I highly recommend for your next group or family trip!

Epic Stay

Villa Mariposa is a perfect home to host your next event in Playa del Carmen. The home is spacious and had plenty of space to host our 13 person group. The amenities were as described and Mauricio was an excellent host, coordinating dinners, chef service, groceries, shuttles and more. The area was very nice and we were able to walk and bike around playacar neighborhood easily. Highly recommended.

Awesome Time!

Jasmin, Edson and Mauricio provided us with excellent and prompt responses on all of our pre-trip inquiries. The villa was beautiful upon our arrival for my bachelor trip, and we had an incredible time during our stay there. The cleaning services were extremely helpful and high-quality during our visit as well. I highly recommend this property for anyone's Playa vacation in terms of its location, the villa's ability to host large groups, and the lovely people in charge!

Perfect for big group

Stayed for a 30th birthday party with a group of 11. The house was beautiful, Mauricio was an excellent concierge and kept in touch throughout the stay. Maid service every morning was nice and they helped us schedule cabs as needed, and other services such as our yacht. The property management was very responsive and helpful prior to our stay, as well. We would happily book this house again!

Fantastic Villa for a Family Vacation

Villa Mariposa was a great place for our family wedding and vacation. The location was perfect, Playacar is a nice, safe gated community with lots of amenities like restaurants, little stores and easy beach access to make it very suitable even if you do not have a car. Playa del Carmen is just a short walk away, so you have easy access to Playa del Carmen and 5th Ave.. The pictures depict the villa accurately, and we had lots of indoor and outdoor space. It was easy to relax and enjoy the pool and hottub. The rooms are spacious and offered plenty of room for our group of 8. Everybody even had their own bathroom. Mauricio, our concierge was very helpful, and always available and willing to answer questions and help us with our plans, incl. taxis, restaurants, tours, and golfing. The maids that came every day, were great and kept the place immaculate. Villa Mariposa is a great place to stay when you are visiting the Mayan Riviera.

Great house and staff, beach slightly off

The property was amazing and looked just like the photos! The rooms were clean and spacious, the pool and hot tub were great and had great spaces to hang out. The staff was amazing - concierge, housekeeping and private chef (HIGHLY RECOMMEND)! The beach was about a 10 min bike ride, so it was a lot further than we were expecting and the beaches that we were directed to by the concierge did NOT look like the photos - they were really small with no umbrellas or chairs and a lot of seaweed. The backyard also had a lot of bugs - ants and mosquitos, so we were quite bitten up just hanging outside.

Gorgeous Villa, Amazing Location.

We loved staying at Villa Mariposa! The property is gorgeous and just as it appears in the photos. Our concierge, Edson, was absolutely amazing! He answered all of our questions and helped us pre-arrange transportation, groceries, a private chef, and gave us a ton of wonderful recommendations. We had 11 girls staying at the house for a bachelorette party and we had plenty of room. The backyard is also very private and we didnā€™t hear any of our neighbors. The Playacar facility is very secure and also beautiful. There are mini markets in walking distance, as well as a few cute restaurants. We can not recommend Villa Mariposa enough! You will love staying there, just like we did.

plenty of room for large groups

Some small issues like a broken glass door and some showers getting stuck on but for the size of the house it is maintained as well as expected. Mauricio and Edson are very helpful and responsive! Definitely helped put my mind at ease when issues did arise. The at home chef was phenomenal and I would highly suggest for anyone groups who want to slow down and spend time together. We did the private boat tour to Cozumel and enjoyed every minute of it!! The waves were a little rough but the snorkeling food and drinks were amazing, 10/10 would recommend

Thank you for a great stay. The house is beautiful, and the staff was very helpful. The only problem we encountered was miscommunication regarding the Beach Clubs. It would be very helpful if written directions/amenities would be handed out upon arrival. We only went to one of the Beach clubs, and we kept being sent to a different area before being allowed to enter the beach area (we spent an hour going back and forth, talking to many people), and not allowed to use the umbrellas/facilities, only to enter to the beach area. Besides that, everything was wonderful. Thank you!

Property was consistent with the online VRBO/Homeaway description. Property suited our family well -- 12 adults and 4 children. Grandchildren ranged in age from 6 - 20. Distance to the beach was a bit further than we expected but the availability of bicycles and ease of "hailing a taxi" made this mild surprize easy to overcome. Security, cleaning and concierge services were excellent. They made it easy to review and book excursions. The surprize hit of the stay was the table tennis table and the family tournaments. As already mentioned, the house is very well equipped with umbrellas, beach chairs, and bicylces -- including helmets. We look back on this as a memorable and enjoyable family vacations. Loved it!!!

Great spot for a group

Clean and plenty of room if its not too hot outside. The pool gets a lot of shade so that is great if you worry about sunburns. The furniture was as described and the cleaning service is great for a big group. Walmart delivers groceries same or next day which was very convenient and rappi (šŸ‡²šŸ‡½ doordash) was very fast to find the house. You have to pretty much cab or walk 30+ min to get to 5th. There is a little market and oxxo close walking distance for the necessities. I highly suggest taking the bikes if going exploring in playacar. Also you can do a daypass at one of the resorts in playacar if you want to relax on the beach with umbrella drinks. Overall great house for 10 ppl! Thanks for having us šŸ˜‰

Girls Getaway 2015

This house is beautiful! I Went with some girlfriends for a little getaway and had an amazing time. The house is in a very safe quite area with it own pool which was awesome. The house was kept very clean everyday and the concierge service was always available to arrange transportation or anything else we needed. The only reason why this house didn't get 5 stars is because the distance from the beach is a lot farther then described in the listing. It is more of a 30 minute brisk walk to the nearest beach. They did provide bikes to rent which worked for us but would be been difficult for families with small children to get to the beach. But if you are looking for a luxury home away from the busy part of town this is the perfect place!

"A great place to stay for young and old"

Our vacation already started very good as we got picked up on time by very nice and helpful staff. You could already tell that everything was planned perfectly and as soon as you drive out of Playa del Carmen you are just here and just the view of the house is very inviting. A very nice girl was there to personally welcome us and show us around. To make it short, the house is just great!! As you open the entry door you feel like walking into your personal castle. After the first step you see the pool and the whirlpool and we could tell that we are going to have a blast at our bridal shower. We were partying all day long and the day did not end at 6pm. We loved the privacy and the atmosphere to just be able to listen to music as loud as we wanted to. Finally to sum up, if you do not stay there you really miss out on a very very great vacation.

A group of 6 couples stayed at Villa Mariposa to celebrate our 50th birthdays and the entire experience was perfection. Rooms - Well appointed and cleaned every day. All the rooms was great. Living/outdoor areas - All the amenities, seating for 16 around the table, fully appointed kitchen, music wired throughout, pool, hot tub,....it was perfect. Plenty of places to lay in the sun, lawn chairs, outdoor sofas. Staff - The staff met our every need, we never ran out of anything (well, if we got low on something all we had to do was ask and it was there). They shopped for our groceries, margaritas, and whatever else we wished for. The private Chef baked a cake for the occasion upon request and decorated it accordingly...it was awesome. One person in our group was gluten free...no problem for the staff. There were other surprises provided by the staff that were great, you should find out for yourself. Location - We took a van to Tulum (30-35 min) We left the house one afternoon just to see the town and go to dinner...no need to go anywhere though. A Bar is a 4 minute walk and they had great food and drinks, breakfast/lunch/dinner, a nice little excursion for 2 people or the entire group. 5 Star vacation, I would recommend staying here to anyone!

Villa Mariposa Holiday

Our stay at the Villa Mariposa was lovely. We debated staying at a resort versus a house and the house allowed for us to spend more time together as a family. One or our favorite nights was when we had a chef cook us an authentic Mexican meal. We'll be talking about that experience for some time to come. Mauricio set this up for us. Mauricio was our concierge and was quick to answer any questions we had. He was there to greet us at the start of our stay and checked in daily to make sure we had what we needed. Daily housekeeping was a nice addition to the stay. We've never had that at previous stays. The community is quiet and safe. To get access to the beach, we rode the bikes that are included in the rental. It was about a 5 minute ride. The beach was not crowded and the water was crystal blue. We didn't rent a car and the taxi service worked out well. We had a direct line to Rudy who took care of our needs to get around.I recommend branching out and trying some of the excursions. We also got access to tennis and golf through Mauricio. As for the house, the beds were great. There was a bathroom attached to all of the bedrooms expect one. The bedrooms were spacious and spread out around the house so you still had some privacy. We hung out in the backyard most of the time we were at the house. Good showers, kitchen was stocked, hot tub was hot! Someone came daily to clean the pool. Overall, this was a lovely stay with a great staff to take care of your needs.

I booked this property on VRBO for me and 9 friends and it was FANTASTIC. 10/10 would recommend. Home/property: the house was huge and a great place to host 10 friends. We spent a great deal of the time in the pool which helped with a hot summer day. The a/c in the house was quite strong and kept all the rooms cool. The roof was a great place to eat dinner. The kitchen and living room were both large and accommodated all of us. There was a projector to watch sports and movies ā€” easy to use. Having a washer/drier in the home made it easy to wash clothes daily after workouts or going out. Size of the home: as listed. 6 bedrooms. All 10 of us had our own bed. Cleanliness: very clean and great daily service to keep all rooms/bathrooms and outdoor area pristine. Amenities: we hired the chef service for 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners and all 10 of us agree it was well worth the cost. Each meal was better than the one before and perhaps some of the best Mexican food any of us have ever had. The convenience of eating at home is also a great benefit. They do all the food shopping, cooking and cleaning. Transport/getting around: the property has a private shuttle service for hire and they are very prompt and punctual. We used them for several excursions and trips to the main town areas. Safety: very safe and secure. Gated community with 24/7 security. Concierge: Mauricio was very communicative and responsive. Great person.

The perfect house for familiy vacation

We were three different families in this huge and comfortable house in Playacar, 8 adults and 9 children (ages 1,5 to 18). The villa offered lots of space for everyone of us, providing enough private sphere for every family. We were supposed to spend a lot of time at the beach front but the we ended up spending hours by the big pool in the house's garden and in the jacuzzi on the terraze and on the balcony. There was place for everyone and the children enjoyed it so much! We were surprised about the villa's comfort, it's spacious, bright, clean, with air-condition, TV, Beamer and all kind of amenities you can think of. Also the kitchen is fitted out with several device, so we could prepare small snacks for the kids any time we wanted. And we just loved Ludi, the villa's maid! She was there every day and cleaned every single room in this gorgeous house. Before we booked the house we had a lot of questions, but all of them were answered right away by email and we got some interesting restaurant offers from the concierge before even coming to Playa del Carmen! And when we arrived at the house we were welcomed by the concierge with a cold drink and she provided us all the necessary information about the local shops and restaurants, taxi fees and what places to visit. She even managed the restaurant bookings for us. The path to the beach passing the small mayan ruins was just a nice experience and took us only some minutes. All in all the house was just the perfect location for us and our stay will be unforgettable. We will certainly be back next year to villa Mariposa!
