The cottage on Ausable is a serene getaway. Views of whiteface mountain and Ausable River frontage make this property exceptional. The private Jacuzzi is perfect after whiteface ski! Outdoor activities are steps away with wooded acreage on site for hiking, fishing, skiing, snowshoeing, and biking. We are located on the west branch of the Ausable River, voted the best trout fishing in the state of New York. All equipment can be arranged for you.

Ski whiteface and come home to the newly renovated cottage with every amenity: fully stocked kitchen available with 5 burner gas stove, outdoor grill, and disposal with dishwasher. Full basement with washer/dryer

Outdoor jacuzzi was just installed off the Master Bedroom French Doors. The deck is private where you can hear the rushing river. Crawl in to cozy fluffed beds and down pillows with wooded views.

The Adirondack theme cottage was crafted with custom woodwork, natural stone, granite kitchen countertop and peninsula that comfortably seats 4. The artwork was crafted locally and the walls are filled with our own adventure travel photography.

The home is a 5 minute drive to Whiteface Mountain. The country store and Supermarket is a 5 minute walk. Also within walking distance is local chocolates, coffee, a café, ice cream, and an activity park.

We have edited the PET POLICY. While We own and Love our dog, accidents happen and area rugs have just been replaced and the entire wood floors have been refinished as of June 2023. If you would like to bring your family pet. Please call Rick or Anne to discuss.

Lovely mountain home

I do an annual trip to this area every year with my brother and two children. Anne and Rick's home was spot on. Great communication and accurate description of the home and it's amenities. The hot tub helped the aches after some hard east coast skiing!

Lovely ADK Retreat

Property is just as described. Was in a perfect location between Whiteface and Lake Placid. My boyfriend and son loved being able to fish right behind the house (trail is steep but well marked). The hot tub was amazing! The little supermarket is definitely little so if you’re arriving later at night I would recommend brining any food stuff you may need for the next morning with you (coffee!). Wonderful weekend would definitely stay again!

Nice quaint place

Represented acuarately in pics. Communication with owner was great. Owner needs to update info on WiFi so renter can more easily log on…. Minor detail Would have like another love seat in living room but all and all a lovely house and location to Whiteface is awesome.

Fall vacation

The location was great for hiking and enjoying the beautiful scenery. The house was not very clean, such as cob webs hanging from the ceiling and blinds, and we found a dead stink bug in our sheets. There was also a distinct sewer odor coming from the bathroom at times. We were also told we could fish from the property which was not true, too many trees in the way of casting a rod.

Wilmington

We loved our stay here. The location was great to have access to Keene, Lake Placid and Jay. The house was comfortable for us and our 2 dogs. Neighborhood was quiet and sweet. Found some good restaurants not too far away and new hiking trails and places to swim! Would come back again!

Very disappointed

We arrived at the cottage. Greeted by Rich the owner. Very nice. Showed us around. Everything liked nice on the surface. After sitting in the living room. Myself and my asthmatic daughter started coughing uncontrollably. Picked up the couch cushions. Tons of dog hair (not from my dog. She is black). Hair was beige. I found a vacuum (didn’t work well). Vacuumed as much as I could. Reached out to Rich the next day. He was apologetic and offered to rectify the issue. I let him know all was good. I started noticing a lot of the same hair all through the cottage. Vacuumed as much as I could. Delt with it. The day after I took a shower for the first time. The tub was filthy. I have pics to prove it. I scrubbed it but didn’t help. Once again I reached out to Rich. His answer was “I am out of town. Tub needs to be resurfaced and looks dirtier than it is “. Really ? Never heard from him again. I would have not given him a poor review if he would have handled my concerns better. Even a cleaning refund would have helped as I was the cleaner!!! I should have been told in advance that there were renters there with a dog for 6 weeks before my stay. Hot tub awesome. All rooms renovated except bathroom which is a deal breaker for me.

A Wonderful Cottage

We enjoyed our stay at this cottage. It is a very cute, beautiful cabin in a great area. Great backyard with fire pit, woodland trail to the river, and an awesome Jacuzzi. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful stay!

We loved our stay at The Cottage! Everything we needed was provided — towels, linens, toiletries, dog crate, laundry, Apple TV, wifi, even firewood! The hot tub was fantastic, as were the grill and fire pit. Make sure to follow the path down to the river. A short walk to the Little Supermarket, Adirondack Chocolates, and more. A short drive to Wilmington, Whiteface, and Lake Placid. The perfect location. We’ll definitely be back!

Central location

Perfect cottage for our needs! Plenty of room for our little family. Pet- friendly, loved the trail out back and the hot tub! Centrally located to breweries, hiking, Olympic offerings. It was perfect!!

Great stay!

We had a wonderful weekend at this well-appointed cottage! Everything we could have needed was right there for us; kitchen supplies, plenty of towels for the bathroom and the hot tub, extra blankets for the chilly nights. The path down to the AuSable River was well-cleared and easy to follow. We enjoyed the fire pit one evening, too. It was the perfect place to spend my husband’s birthday weekend. Lots to do in the area! We’d give Anne and Rick’s place a 10 out of 10! We would definitely rent this cottage again. Thank you so much!!

Over night get-a-way

As a nurse, I needed a break from the COVID craziness. The cottage was the perfect place. We enjiyed the gorgeous scenery, the relaxing hot tub, and beautiful cabin. I wish I had more than one night there! I hope to return when life goes back to "normal." Thank you!!!

whiteface ski trip

The property was clean, served our purpose for the most part. TV didn't work and was not fixed while we were there. Also the plumbing vent in the bathroom was not working properly so it stank like sewage near the bathroom. Owner was going to get back to me about reimbursing us some of the cost for our trouble but hasn't. Little disappointing, just expect to be treated fairly, thought the rate was a little high.

We had a lovely weekend getaway .. it was so nice that our pups could join the fun and there was a hot tub available to warm up after outdoor winter activities! The location was very nice and only a 20min drive/ very affordable uber into lake placid! Everything was clean and amenities were as listed! No complaints!

Perfect in every way!

We thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas get-away at the cottage (and it was exactly as it is pictured/described online). The cottage was clean, comfortable and cozy! It was nice to find such great accommodations that were dog-friendly (we brought our 2 labradors) with a location so close to Whiteface Mountain. The hot-tub was definitely an added bonus, especially after a day on the slopes. The kitchen was well-stocked and had everything we needed to make family meals, the beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels for bathing as well as for the hot-tub. I honestly can't find anything negative to say. It was perfect in every way!

Awesome cabin on the river!

We had a great time at this cabin for an extended weekend stay. Was able to bring our dog with us and he enjoyed walking around the area and up and down the riverside. Made use of the hot tub and grilled outside one night too. Will definitely look to stay here next time we are back in the area!

Great Getaway Cottage

The cottage is located on a quiet road in the sleepy little village of Wilmington. It's just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Lake Placid so that you can enjoy the nightlife if you choose and return to stargazing on the deck later on.
