A unique and spacious custom-built home, added in 1994 to the original 1800's home overlooking the Jay Range in charming Upper Jay, NY. The original home was built by one of the town's oldest families and a local business man, Mr. Silas Prime, in the mid 1800's, with the garage/home addition added in 1994. My wife and I live on the property in the older original home which is completely separate from the rental home.

This stately home is located 4 miles from Whiteface Mountain and 20 min from main street in Lake Placid. Surrounded by 100 foot white pines with rock garden landscaping and a children's playhouse, in addition to a large grassy area for a game of football or volleyball, it has a large blacktop basketball court that can be lit for nighttime games. The home offers comfortable sleeping arrangements for 6 adults. A unique feature of the home is that it is handicap ready with a fully functioning elevator if needed. It will take you up to the 2500 square foot level of the home. Bathrooms are equipped with extra large pocket doorways and handicap railings. Some of the unique features include a large stocked galley kitchen with front load washer/dryer, granite counter-tops, skylights and a large hand cut granite fireplace with accompanying cathedral ceilings as part of the living room. The master suite has a large walk in closet and a private porch overlooking the flower garden. Master bath has a Jacuzzi tub with separate shower. Second private bedroom suite has large walk-in shower for easy access of wheelchair.

Home includes three flat screen tv's, and all have basic cable. Microwave and built in desk adjacent to the kitchen. Water filtration system. Walk in pantry will provide ample space. A quiet hammock area and a large eat in screened back porch.Ceiling fans provided in all rooms of the home including the porch. Air conditioners are available in the bedrooms during the summer months. Sleeper sofa with a memory foam mattress. All linens provided. Gas grill is available. Outdoor fire pit with chairs. Internet/wireless internet available. Handyman service is available 24 hours a day for problems that may arise during your stay. Please, no smoking.

Living in the Upper Jay area provides many local activities, including outlet shopping in historic Lake Placid, area hiking during all 4 seasons, rock climbing, fishing in world class trout streams, skiing/snowboarding, mountain biking trails and many other seasonal yearly events held at Whiteface Mountain. Also available is the opportunity for snowmobiling, ice climbing and the Olympic venues of bob sledding, ski jumping, luge, speed and figure skating and snow shoeing!
